I’m from Hawaii but my father and his parents are from GCK so I spent every summer for many years living in that wonderful yet sleepy little town. Kansas breeds some of the kindest and most hardworking people I’ve ever met too, the salt of the earth types. Alohas and mahalo for sharing and helping to bring back a ton of great memories.

And at the end of the Summer the Elephants🐘🐘 to go swimming in the pool 🐘.!! It a meatpacking town. Don't forget Deerfield 🦌 Lakin for those who live in Garden City and work at (IBP) Tysons. Yes, I enjoyed the mix of older architecture with modern buildings. Many small cities decide they should build away from downtown; however, they seemed to integrate. I did not interact with people there, but I lived in Topeka for a few years with good people 😎
I was offered a job there and went to visit. I wanted to love it, but it smells AWFUL from the meat packing or whatever, and it was just very eerie. I was there for a couple of days and NO ONE was outside...I mean NO ONE. Empty parks, empty sidewalks, even the drone footage, look, no one is walking dogs or walking themselves. I just found it like a really cool western town, but it's more like a stinky ghost town. VERY bizarre in my own experience :/
@@JamesBeBop No problem. Yea I'm not trying to upset anyone LOL. I really did love the peace and city feel but in a small town. And when I visited, it was warm, sunny and breezy...very nice. I just found it so odd that no one was outside. The parks were empty, no one walking the streets...I have dogs so I was hoping to walk around a park and meet locals, but nope. I just wonder why... 🤔
I was born there and visit my parents often. It's not a fun or cool place to live. The music you overplayed to your video is more interesting than this town.

Garden City has a great municipal golf course, I played there many years ago. Garden City and Hays are my favorite cities in western Kansas.

I used to live in Garden City Kansas then I moved to Holcomb Kansas Which I love so much I currently live in Clovis New Mexico
