      Hello, what do you recommend for hair that is very dry from a certain blow dryer?
      I noticed a blow dryer I was using many times kept leaving my hair somewhat stiff and dry after using it. Typically I have great success with blow dryers but this one has consistently given lackluster results.
      I'm not sure if it's the blow dryer or the products I'm using or both. Nothing really changed in my routine except my continued use of this particular blow dryer.
      How can i replenish my normal moisture level?
      How long do you think it will take to see improvement?

    Just out of curiosity, what is the difference between doing a hot oil treatment vs an oil rinse?

    • @CurlyChemistry
      @CurlyChemistry  8 місяців тому +28

      A hot oil treatment typically involves heating the oil and applying it before your shampoo or after your conditioner for at least 5-10 minutes or longer whereas an oil rinse is done mainly in the shower, not heated, and left on for a few seconds. If I'm running low on time I'll opt for the oil rinse, if I have time then definitely the hot oil treatment.

    So are the wash day steps:
    Prepoo, Shampoo, Hot oil treatment, Shampoo, Conditioner?
    I am trying to research the correct order of things but there are many different answers

    As the final rinse? Not first?

    How is it better to do it with wet or dry hair?

    • @Neesha242

      For me I get better result on dry hair and then I shampoo. I think it absorbs better on dry hair because the water will create a barrier. I would say try both and see what works best for your hair

    Do you think this rule can differ depending on the climate of where you live? For example, I live in Arizona where it’s dry and hot most of the year. My hair stylist feels kinky hair types don’t do well with oil here.

    • @CurlyChemistry
      @CurlyChemistry  8 місяців тому +4

      I would still try it to see how your hair responds, if anything it will be more of a benefit as the oil will help seal the cuticle to prevent moisture loss in hotter climates.
