Oh My... I just fell in love w the drummer. What Spirit!!! And You Mean It. Fantastic Phrasing on the drums, wonderfully sharp accents too; as a bass player I say that as a RUSH Neil Peart Fan. 🚶♀️🎸
Joan Diver. Her sisters are Angela (fiddle/bass guitar/vocals), Marie Therese (accordion/keyboards/vocals), and the irrepressible Grainne (guitar, vocals).
I love that the Screaming Orphans play both traditional songs like "Foggy Dew" and original pop songs of their own creation. There's a depth to this band that most pop bands never approach.
Truth!!! I have heard them 6 times this summer. 5 of their own online concerts & the 6th was in collaboration with the Philadelphia Folk Song Society. When people ask me what got me through the summer of 2020, the answer will be online concerts by the Screaming Orphans.
1:24 - Someone doesn't know the lyrics. It's "Suvla," not "Sudla." Suvla and Sud-el-Bar were locations of battles during the Gallipoli Campaign of World War I, in which a lot of Irishmen died fighting for the Brits.
She couldn't be playing that acoustic strum is way to fast so I wouldn't listen to band that play if a backing track simply get up and walk away massacred this song from a true Irishman
Mike Johnson I know all the history of the Sullivan and it would of orginally been O'Sullivan those who gave in to the English dropped the o' from their name you coward. U fought in the 80's in which war you tosser bet ur sorry now. I come from quite a musical bk round and am well capable of preformed. I got this so g the way it should be. I merely told the truth about it. It is not doing the song justice here. But u decided to attack me with vile words kiss my ass. Your saying ur ancestors are Sullivans then u calling me an Irish so and so you are a hypocrite
Mike Johnson did u not say u were Scots Irish?? The Sullivan are plain out straight Irish ur a fucking idiot you don't know shit. Oh and Sullivan should have an O'Sullivan before the name only those who surrendered to the English dropped the o'. Goodbye coward
This band has tons of talent. Always love seeing them live.

ever notice the odd look in the keyboard players eyes
Jim, I thought I was the only who thought there is something wrong with the keyboard player. Sometimes just a glaze stare.
