It’s 3 in the morning and no matter how weird or wacky, Charlie never disappoints with finding the humor in all the many weird things that happens in our weird goofy little simulation
to be fair, movies always show the thinnest of wood stopping all arrows and ballistics short of a trebuchet. They were probably thinking about that where the hero flips a table just in time to shield himself from arrows coming at him.
Fun fact crossbows were made to penetrate armor in both China and Europe which was made of overlapping iron sheets and chainmail meant to protect against said crossbow.
Reminds me of an equally bad decision me and some friends made when we were drunk and 15. We decided to gather all the steak knives we could find in the house, and throw them into the ceiling fan while it was on high. Needless to say, hours later when we got home from the hospital, our parents were pissed. Luckily the only injury incurred was a nasty stab would to the top of my friends shoulder. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
ODS actually uploaded a follow up video already. Taking the tip off is what got him hit believe it or not. Joey was off to the side, and it had oddly curving trajectory. If it had the tip on it would have possibly gone more straight through the door. 😂
crossbow bolts will go clean through a deer and stick into what's behind, which is much more sturdy than a crappy door. Also its the responsibility of a shooter to make sure there's nothing behind their target...
joey really could build a crossbow tolerance. remember that dude on 4chan that started bulding a tolerance to bullets and said he made it to .45 air rifle pellets without breaking skin

They have done some pretty wildly irresponsible things with way more deadly things than a crossbow. I too am surprised it took this long for something to happen
When I was 10 I used to think I had super strength because I got mad and punched clean through a closet door. A very very low powered crossbow could break through any typical closet door
Charlie talking about the ninjas drinking poison always reminds me of the king who did the same thing but he made himself so immune when he got captured he tried to poison himself and lived and died a gruesome death

This is a groundbreaking discovery. Cameraman can't die but can sustain injuries. I wonder if there will be further research, I'm curious what is the biggest injury cameraman can endure
I used to have an old dresser, carved out of wood, put together so well that even after 40 years it needed nothing other than a hinge change and a paint job. The thing was incredibly heavy, thick and sturdy. And yet, I wouldn’t trust it to save me from a crossbow shot - even though I don’t know the true strength of an arrow fired by a crossbow. That dresser, as sturdy and durable it is, would’ve broken. But still, I can see how someone (especially after enough alcohol) would think that my dresser could withstand a crossbow shot. But their wardrobe door was nothing like that. That was paper thin. It’s the stuff that breaks if you just lose your footing and fall into it. I genuinely do not understand how any one of them thought that this would be safe, not even after drinking. Or how one willingly stands behind that door (like right behind it) knowing fully well that it’s gonna get shot at. I’m glad they (at least) did it without the tip of the arrow.
Seeing that crossbows were originally made to penetrate shields, it's kind of hilarious to think that a door would have protected anyone
Not only that, but crossbows could punch through plate armor with relative ease, these guys are brainlets

This is a classic ODS moment. Both hilarious and worrysome. I just sincerely hope that Joey is alright. Its gonna be hard for him to move around with a stomach wound like that especially since he apparently already had his massive balls of steel weighing him down.
No, that's just an incredibly smooth brain. No balls required
No balls, its completely stupid. If you expect the bolt not to go through then there is no point being behind the door. There is no possible outcome that made it worthwhile
If the bolt didn't go through, he would have seen nothing. If the bolt did go through, he'd get shot by it. Win stupid prizes.
It's extreme stupidity. Arrows will fly right through a deer, and closet doors are pretty much made of cardboard. These people have no idea how either work or are made... Very stupid.
its stupid and dangerous, it wouldnt be that big of a deal, if there majority audience wasnt children, also their firearms usage is atrocious to the point im surprised these idiots haven't shot one another.
So generous of them to sacrifice their camera man for us!
charlie’s comment section is like an average game of casual tf2!
Cameraman can't die afterall
@Neo's danger Tell that to Alec Baldwin☠
for our entertainment
Lol I loved watching these guys that did this. They even made a follow up video where they don’t apologize and do the same thing again with the crossbow and doors. It was great to watch!
Takes me back to a time... something about a gun, a pregnant woman, and a book of some sorts
We all know the real video they were filming was “can my friend Joey stop a crossbow bolt” and yes, yes he can
The fact that somebody could do that is already beyond me
You sound like chat gpt
HOLY SHID IT'S KEL!!!!
its pretty fucking easy to shoot someone with a crossbow, i dont see where the difficulty in that is?
I see you every fucking where I go
@@thecrazyinsanity he just typed the first thing that came to mind, whether it made sense or not
after some testing by official duck studios, they have found that it takes around 7 closet doors to stop a crossbow. With joey behind the doors of course.
Joey now has 6 crossbow bolt wounds from previous tests, but now we know!
First time I see the cameraman suffer any damage.
This is historical guys.
But He Survived. I See That As A Win
True that, camera man showed weakness for the first time
It’s 3 in the morning and no matter how weird or wacky, Charlie never disappoints with finding the humor in all the many weird things that happens in our weird goofy little simulation

to be fair, movies always show the thinnest of wood stopping all arrows and ballistics short of a trebuchet. They were probably thinking about that where the hero flips a table just in time to shield himself from arrows coming at him.
How did they not expect the weapon specifically designed to penitrate materials to penitrate materials.
Fun fact crossbows were made to penetrate armor in both China and Europe which was made of overlapping iron sheets and chainmail meant to protect against said crossbow.
I sure do wonder if a crossbow, a weapon purpose built to penetrate metal armor, can pierce a closet door.
I was watching this live and I literally was screaming at my damn phone don’t shoot and then my gut dropped when the Joey fell im glad he’s alright
Remember how much the chat was freaking out begging the boys to get Joey to hospital?
They really took "cameraman never dies" too seriously and I'm glad the guy is okay at least.
Had that arrow actually had a pointed tip on it, this could’ve had a more grim outcome. He’s extremely lucky this didn’t take a tragic turn
Even a practice tip would have probably went through him right?
@@RatKingTerry would've gone deeper. Maybe punctured some organs. Might have still lived. Definitely many surgeries after 😅
@@RatKingTerry I didn't see the video but stomach wounds are among the worst, you 100 percent die without medical attention
Your comment was stolen by a s*x bot rip
Reminds me of an equally bad decision me and some friends made when we were drunk and 15. We decided to gather all the steak knives we could find in the house, and throw them into the ceiling fan while it was on high. Needless to say, hours later when we got home from the hospital, our parents were pissed. Luckily the only injury incurred was a nasty stab would to the top of my friends shoulder. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Wow even for 15 year olds that is ridiculously dumb hahaha. What was the goal??
Your decision was not equal. It was infinitely dumber. Throwing KITCHEN KNIVES in the ceiling fan?
jesus christ, i figured maybe he would be getting a camera shot from the side but this guy is standing face to face with the door, nice
hello real human replying here out of my own conscious decisions
@@brightblackhole2442 Greetings, fellow human. I too am a sentient conscious being with an opinion.
ODS actually uploaded a follow up video already. Taking the tip off is what got him hit believe it or not. Joey was off to the side, and it had oddly curving trajectory. If it had the tip on it would have possibly gone more straight through the door. 😂
Taking the tip off isn’t what got him hit, him being in the closet as they shot at it got him hit
3:10 Top 10 moments before disaster
given that the cameraman was basically fine, hearing the slightly delayed scream from behind the closet door is fucking funny
crossbow bolts will go clean through a deer and stick into what's behind, which is much more sturdy than a crappy door. Also its the responsibility of a shooter to make sure there's nothing behind their target...
Dude is so lucky to be alive.
If it had a tip it would be a completely different story
@@00Grimreaper00 yepp if that tip was there bones r now dust

3:05 this guy thinks liability works the way Michael Scott thinks bankruptcy works.
6:53 - How many doors does it take to stop a crossbow from killing my friend
WHAHAHAHAH
joey really could build a crossbow tolerance. remember that dude on 4chan that started bulding a tolerance to bullets and said he made it to .45 air rifle pellets without breaking skin
Every Time we think the internet has recorded every stupid idea, an arrow goes through the screen and nearly gouges our eyes out.
To be fair Joey shouldn’t have stood right behind the door 😂
Poor Joey 😢 wish it could’ve been Tyler😔
Joey went completely on his own will
He actually didn't. He stood to the side of it
yeah, he shouldnt have stood right behind and the dude shouldnt have shot without confirmation joey wasnt in the way
@@arandompersonontheinternet548 Weren't they drunk? or was Joey the only one sober?

Joey: {GROANS IN PAIN}
Nut on the trigger: Are you okay?
I have watched them all my life, and I'll say this. I'm truly not suprized. I can absolutely see them doing this. They always put joey in extreme danger, and joey suprizingly goes along with it. This is halarious.
joey knows he's invincible he is the cameraman after all (and i don't think he cares about living really)
im unfamiliar with the group. is it like a jackass type of thing they do?
you must be 5 year old
@@jackalope_hunter they don't do jackass-like stunts, they're just jackasses xD
@DeathRuninVerminator no. They are just really dumb. They once put a revolver in a dishwasher and hid behind the bed of a truck, like that'll stop a bullet. They know there dumb. But that doesn't stop them
As a fan of Offical duck studios, it's hilarious how much this incident blew up. First their cat passes away and then their camera man almost
After watching them for a while Im surprised it took them this long for an accident to happen
They have done some pretty wildly irresponsible things with way more deadly things than a crossbow. I too am surprised it took this long for something to happen
@@newt0n_ Every one of their gun videos is the most insane thing I ever saw
When I was 10 I used to think I had super strength because I got mad and punched clean through a closet door. A very very low powered crossbow could break through any typical closet door
Charlie talking about the ninjas drinking poison always reminds me of the king who did the same thing but he made himself so immune when he got captured he tried to poison himself and lived and died a gruesome death
Well, historically he had his right hand man slit his throat, which isn't very gruesome but still is a bad way to die.
the fact that they even said something about him being right directly behind it instead of of to the side was actually kinda funny in a "why did you think this was a good idea even your friends are saying it wasn't gonna be a good idea" kind of way
this is the greatest man-slaughter of all time

I like how the guy was like "I don't think he's right behind the door" and that didn't even trigger a reaction from the camera guy
He does say "I don't think joey is right by the door... if he is, I'm not liable for this" so I think even he knew it was dangerous and expected joey to be on the side
as an official duck studios fan, I'm still amazed this is the first one of their drunken "stunts" that went to shit

Holy shit...I used to watch these guys all the time. The Camping video was hilarious and the boat building was great too... I haven't seen any of their videos in years, man is this a flash to the past
I've built a Lego crossbow and that shit broke my door, god knows a real one could penetrate at least 3 doors.(without tip btw)
Joey used to be an invincible camera man like yourself. Then he took a bolt to the belly.
If i was their father, I would have been justified in not coming back from getting that pack of smokes. The disappointment is coursing through my veins.
Which is why they have hoodies with the word "disapointment" on them
Still not as bad as the couple who thought an encyclopedia would stop a .45 and killed the boyfriend
This is a groundbreaking discovery. Cameraman can't die but can sustain injuries. I wonder if there will be further research, I'm curious what is the biggest injury cameraman can endure
ODS are crazy af. I'm surprised this has been the only time someone has gotten seriously hurt from one of their stunts.

He’s got to be careful, blunt force trauma to the abdomen can cause a lot of problems down the line
