I'm so happy I found this video! These just so happen to be the same 2 seats we are debating on! My daughter starts preschool soon so we are looking at buying a second seat that she will be able to grow into more and get more use out of...plus gotta make that decision soon to take advantage of Prime Day. We have a Britax seat now and love the Clicktight feature, but having the slimmer fit and recline options of the Chicco, plus being much cheaper and it looks like not much more difficult to install seems like a winner for our situation. Thank you so much for doing this comparison!🙏🏼 It was incredibly helpful and I really appreciate you!
Excellent comparision video. I've been searching the web for these two exact seats. I have a couple of nuna rava's and wish I would have purchased one of these first.
Your Rava's can fit rear facing which is the big advantage there. It's the forward facing big body that is hard to find on car seats. I wish Nuna would come out with a Combo seat! I would Die of happiness :)
Thank you… this was an excellent video for me as I have both of these seats! I have to switch my son to a booster mode as he’s reached the weight limits for harness. I was going to convert his Chicco but after watching this, I’m going to switch him to his little sister’s Britax instead and put her in the Chicco in harness mode.
In the future it would be nice to refer to each seat by name when comparing one from the other for those who are listening instead of watching. That would be helpful. Thanks for the great information
I am glad this was useful for you! I used this seat with my nephews and I liked it a lot. It's much nicer now than it was 7 years ago so I am glad they keep evolving in useful ways for parents and caregivers.
Thanks for this video! It is super helpful when trying to make an informed decision. My confusion is with the harness height max. Britax says their limit is 49” and Chico says theirs is 54”. The Britax has a higher seated torso height of 20” vs 19” with the Chicco. Can you explain why Britax says their limit is 49” but they have higher seated torso height? I guess the seated torso height is all that should matter
I'm looking at both of these myself. I realized today taking my car seats out to clean and inspect them, my 8yo has maxed out his britax advocate at 64 pounds and 51". I sat him in the center row captain seat where they sit and the regular shoulder belt at it lowest setting still rides a bit on his neck and he is about 1 inch way from his knees reaching the end of the seat and his feet maybe an inch or 2 off the floor. I feel like he still needs the side protection and I wish he could still use the 3 point harness instead of a shoulder/lap belt. I like the Britax you showed in fact it matches my pacifica's brown and black interior! lol But from what you said and I read, it looks like he would have to use the shoulder/lap belt with it. I guess I need to find one locally to compare or order it, try fit it and either keep or return it. He would at least still have the side protection. Nice to also know the Chicco uses non-toxic materials too! Thats one of the main reasons I ended up buying 4 britax seats over the years for my 2 kids and 2 vehicles, that and too heavy-awkward to keep moving them. Thanks for the comparison! Nice butt by the way 👍
As they mentioned theres specific storage spaces for them under the bottom base cushion. Theres also one on the back for the tether as well! Check your manual if you can't easily find it - but if you've lost it, they have them on their website..as well as video how-to's as well! I just had to watch one of the videos to find where one of the elastic hoops goes cos I took the cushions off to wash and couldnt find the headrest one for the life of me...but it was pretty obvious and I felt dumb for not seeing it when I figured it out lol Also for the manual, I LOVE how theres a specific spot for its storage - on the front under the orange recliner pull tab!
I noticed you mentioned that Britax has a longer time in harness but Britax's specs say the harness can only be used up to 49" and Chicco's says 54" before switching to the seatbelt. Do I have those numbers correct? I do have a taller child, 5 year old at about 47-48" now so the overall height limit on the Britax is nice for the long term but I hate to think I'd only have her in a harness for maybe another 6 months to a year.
I have the same question. The seated torso height is more on the Britax but it has the lower max height. Did you make a decision on which seat you wanted to buy?
@@Tech9er I did, I went with the Chicco due to the longer time in the harness. Very happy with the decision. I had the Chicco infant seat and the Britax clicktight convertible so I knew I liked both brands.
Great video - thank you! I am shopping for a harness booster for my “quad cab” truck; (this is the smaller back seat, longer bed option). I’m having trouble finding a seat that will fit well because the rear seat has a slightly smaller seat base, with a straighter back. And to top it off the headrest is not removable. Is there a recommended car seat for applications like this? I imaging many 3rd row vehicles may have similar seating issues, maybe worse.
Is it easy to tighten the harness for either of these seats? I had a Britax All in one and my mom, who's 67, had a hard time tightening the harness and it would be going in her car. I currently have the Graco 3-in-1 and she cannot tighten the straps tight enough. I have a hard time with it, too
I think Chicco has the easier harness to Tighten and loosen. Also the buttons for operating it are yellow so that is helpful for other caregivers just so they can immediately identify what to press in order to loosen the harness.
@@destinationbabykids thank you so much for the quick response! That is a very good point. I have a Clek Fllo in my car and my mom can never find the button to loosen it lol
How about the Graco extend 2 fit or the 4ever series? How do they compare to the Chicco? We're looking at the MyFit Zip Air Harness vs those two. The Britax by all account seems nice, but I've talked to two parents that say they are difficult to get their children in and out of, plus one parent said their child felt it was uncomfortable to sit in.
Hey! Great review. Does the hair camel leather on the Britax one appear cheap in person? I would love to see it myself before purchasing, but there are no display models of such where I live. From experience I know some of those faux leathers can both appear cheap/flimsy AND tear/rip easily. Wanted your professional opinion, as it looks great via video and on online pictures!
I actually think it looks good in person. Kind of shocking cause Britax usually isn't at the forefront of car seat fashion but I do like this from them. :)
what do you think of the graco tranzition as a combination booster? My second daughter is going to outgrow her infant car seat soon and I have been watching your videos to decide on another clek fllo, britax grow with you or another narrow seat option
Thank you for posting this video. I have been debating between these exact 2 seats. I was leaning towards the Britax because ease of installation is very important to me and I love the Clicktight feature on our Britax Marathon seat. I am in the market for 2 seats though and it is hard for me to justify spending about $200 more for the Clicktight feature. Is the Chicco truly easy to install?
Hi-not sure on your truck year, but my husband has a truck and didn’t even realize there were tethers. Look at your owners manual. Also some have said you need to fold the seat back to find a tether in certain trucks . Tethering is definitely recommended to help head control in a crash. (I just read up on all this) so if you have one, I would definitely utilize it.
@@marissamintz-forte3780 the Chicco had a higher limit on the harness being used where you would otherwise have to love your child out of the 5point harness and into more of a booster style

Thank you for this! What is "standing height"
@@selenacbatch6662 the height of the kiddo when they are measured standing upright from bottom of feet to top of head :)
@destinationbabykids thank you and thank you for responding so quickly. Your video really helped me decide on the myfit.
What are you supposed to do with the Latch strap when installing with the seatbelt? It just kind of dangles there.
There is a storage spot for them on the inside of the seat. It's a bit annoying but you absolutely can store them in the seat itself :)

Hi, thanks for the video, I'm debating between the 2. How is the seat padding in them? Is it comparable?
Britax is more padded. And the CLEAN COMFORT versions have the most padding in the bum in my opinion.
A literal no brainer to me because the Chicco harness life is so much longer!! I can’t understand why typical car seats stop at 49”
Yes i agree! that should be mentioned in this video because that is a huge plus on the Chicco side.
can you explain this?

Omg. I thought it was pronounced chicco (ch like in the word cheese). Lol.
I think it's America's proximity to Mexico that makes us immediately go that direction with the pronunciation. Either way it's a great little seat.
Britax is a horrible car seat brand in my opinion.
Fair enough.
