Great review. I would like to see someone bake up a new pair. I am curious as to how much the bottom actually forms to your foot. Do you stand at all in the bake process? Is it any different than baking another skate?
Thinking about these or the 1N that's due out soon. Any thoughts? Also, I noticed you had some nasty scuff marks on the side and back already. Do they scuff so easily, or did something unexpected happen to them?
Most of the benefits that come with higher end skates are helpful for hockey players, particularly in the stiffness department. If you're simply "freestyling," you'll want to stick with lower to mid range skates. Higher end skates will be too stiff for your needs.
would be nice to see a comparison between Tacks 6092 vs Super Tacks vs Ultra Tacks and not only a review of new skates but actual real life feedback from someone who went through all of them
Awesome video here bro these skates look & sound amazing!!! I'm a complete novice and looking to purchase my first ever pair of ice skates so just seeing what's out there and for some advice. I have never played ice hockey before but used to street skate when I was a youngster, and would love to get in to ice skating & maybe play hockey one day too! Just a little unsure if me going straight to a "hockey skate" is a good idea - as I know they're much more responsive and may be a bit too advanced for a "beginner" ice skater... Such a brilliant & informative video by the way, such clear info on a very detailed full review on these skates... massive thumbs up! great job! and great to see so much passion! clearly you love your job and hobby 👊😎
Chris...just curious I'm coming back from a severe ankle injury I got while skating in the Tacks...I noticed like you a lot of freedom in the skate and also even a lot of energy that was translated to the foot when taking puck shots off the skate at any point off the boot. Do you think this newer skate will provide much more ankle support and stability and reduce that puck shot energy? Great review!!!
I hope you're feeling better. The Super Tacks is a totally different construction to the Tacks. More support, wrapping around the foot and stability! its also significantly stiffer which will provide better protection. If you find yourself taking shots to the skate, I'd suggest getting the "skate fenders pro skate guard" let me know if you'd like to see a video on them. Let me know if this answers your question or if i got the wrong impression.
+Hockey Tutorial Thanks Chris... That's exactly what kind of answer I was looking for. I even asked CCM themselves and they pretty much dodged the question. I appreciate you taking the time to reply and love seeing all the different products you review and the skills you teach. I've learned a ton. Thanks!
I've always liked the look of the CCM skates, but I have stupidly wide feet so I have to go with Bauer.. Will CCM be offering these in a EE fit Chris? If they mould well after baking they might be ok for me.
+Danny “Number 85” Finch CCM's Tacks fit profile is aimed at players with a wider foot. With the new one piece boot frame, I'd be surprised if you had any issue. I normally skate with an EE myself.
Thanks for this video! Great in-depth comparison of the skates! I'm wearing Tacks now, and I'd love to upgrade, but maybe I'll hold off for a bit. That said, I'm curious about the fit of the Super Tacks. I have a pretty wide foot. Does the Super Tack still have the widest fit of the three CCM skate lines!
Jetspeed and Super Tacks have different fits, so it really depends on which fit suits you best. i.e. Jetspeed has a contoured fit while Tacks have more of a wider fit with a deeper heel.

It's a nice comparison video. One thing I find with your videos is that you repeat yourself a lot so I feel like you could really cut down on the length of the video. Niche little video though
VH are custom so nothing can beat a skate built for your feet. However, Super Tacks are as close to custom skates in regards to the fit that I've ever seen.
tbh, my vh skates fit amazing. I cant seem to get used to them tho. Ive had them for like 4 months now, reffing junior and midget aaa hockey, might need to look into a different skate.
Andi Sutton just went from s160 to 5092, breaking them in now! They are a lot more features on the 5092s, but I miss the ankle lock on the s160, both good boots
Even if it's just a gimmick, there is one definite benefit I've found: it's easier to spot nicks and burrs in my edges without having to run my fingers along my steel.
I don't get why you just review random ass pieces of equipment... like why wouldn't you do the stick too? You aren't paid by CCM or Bauer but you just randomly compare the equipment without an incentive. Odd to me
+classy021 Sorry to see the concept of our entire channel is lost on you. We'll work harding in future to ensure our purpose is transparently clear for you.. Assuming without any indication of what we are doing won't help you, it may be better to ask rather than assume ;)

Have had these skates for 7 years. Played high level hockey and they are a great pair of skates. Couldn’t ask for a better pair.
I bought the tacks about 5-6 months ago and I loved them I'm gonna have to pick these up now

I'm kind of a beginner , I only skate for fun or "freestyling" , I bought a pair of com u+08 .. Is it good or ?

yes
Does the Tacks and Supertacks have more padding in the ankle area than the RBZ?
what skates are on the left i have a budget plus those ones are clean
Whats the difference between CCM Ultra Tack and CCM Super Tack?
how does it compare to the Makos and VH you have worn?
Gonna have to save up for these before the season starts up again
Where can I pick up a pair of vapor 10's tho?
Would you recommend these or the jetspeeds for a player with a fast takeoff and top speed
Jetspeed and Super Tacks have different fits, so it really depends on which fit suits you best. i.e. Jetspeed has a contoured fit while Tacks have more of a wider fit with a deeper heel.

How are these compared to the easton makos? I love the makos fit and comfort but now need to find a new pair that is similar fit and feel.
cdb5 ccm jetspeeds, bauer vapors, supertacks or tacks feel a little like the makos it honestly depends what you like
cdb5 but I find the supertacks feels more like a mako
Super tacks are probably the most badass looking skates on the market
It's a nice comparison video. One thing I find with your videos is that you repeat yourself a lot so I feel like you could really cut down on the length of the video. Niche little video though
Great review!! I need to get my hands on a pair of these!
+Twig_ Heaven Thanks buddy.
Which skate would you chose ccm super tacks or Bauer 1s
Neither because they don't fit my feet well. Jetspeed or VH for me.
Tyler Lord 1s because the Sumpreme line fits me the best
+Hockey Tutorial If I recall from your previous videos, you have a wider foot. I thought the Tacks line had a wider fitting than the Jetspeeds.
You should do one on the new Bauer nexus skates.
Do you like these better then the VH Skates?
VH are custom so nothing can beat a skate built for your feet. However, Super Tacks are as close to custom skates in regards to the fit that I've ever seen.

What's the difference between the super tacks and jetspe3d
jetspeed* my bad.
A lot! lots of different features on each. Most importantly, they have two different fits for different foot shapes.
Are they as wide as Bauer Nexus Skates?
14sniperhockey the original tacks is a little more snug fitting compared to the 1n and the supertacks is a little wider that the supreme
Are the tacks 5092 and bauer s160's comparable to each other, anyone have a pair of either of these skates? thanks.
Andi Sutton just went from s160 to 5092, breaking them in now! They are a lot more features on the 5092s, but I miss the ankle lock on the s160, both good boots
Yes! A new videos
They look nice, but I am happy with my x500 skates for now
I LOVE the Super Tacks
I thought VH Hockey done the mono frame first???
A few others have also done it, That is why we said "the first commercially available". Great to see your skate knowledge is good :)
haha no probs :) - I try to keep up to date, your videos are great mate, props!
Nice video Chris! Hope I can pick these u0
+PensFan SC87 Thanks for watching :)
Does anyone know how much these skates weigh?
depends on the size
8 ee weights about 840grams. so they are a little heavier than 1x and jetspeeds which are around 800.
And barometric pressure.
owenator73
I know someone who had the SuperTacks for three weeks and they broke
I've had mine for a few months now. You can say that about anything though something can break first day.
I've read the SB Black is a bit like the Bauer titanium paint back in the early 90's, a bit of a gimmick.
Even if it's just a gimmick, there is one definite benefit I've found: it's easier to spot nicks and burrs in my edges without having to run my fingers along my steel.
It seems like when they get sharpened the coating is gonna come off anyway.
just the bottom but not the edges
James Ballard true, the best blades I've used are the step steel black steels
Got these skates yesterday
Louis Chabot hiw are they
jetspeed vs super tacks
Jetspeed vs ft1
It's coming ;)
Comparison reviews are worthless when all they do is compare specs.. I can do that in my browser.. I was hoping for some experience comparisons
first

Super tacks ohh I thought it said Supra stacks as in the skate shoe
