    • @treblewellxtended
      @treblewellxtended  22 дні тому

      I never did in my testing, however DSP can produce hiss sometimes in 2 conditions
      1. Bad USB C port
      2. Issue with cable
      Try this with other phone as well

    Do you think it's a good combination if I use Truthear Zero Red with Moondrop Free DSP (same dsp cable as Moondrop May, sold separately)? Have you tried this combo yet, I'd love to know your experience.
    Is it worth it to go with (Zero Red+Moondrop DSP) or Moondrop May is good enough in terms of sound quality?

    • @treblewellxtended
      @treblewellxtended  3 місяці тому

      If you like to EQ, and are good with PEQ, it is a good option otherwise not.
      Additionally, as of now the app is not available for Apple and android one is laggy as hell. Hence, my suggestion would be not buy the cable. At least till Moondrop works on app.
      Hope it helps

      @@treblewellxtended I want to use a cable with a built-in mic and a dedicated DAC with Zero Red. Since the Moondrop DSP cable has both a mic and a DAC, assuming it is a good quality DAC, I think this would be a good option. I don't really care about the app or EQ. I might use the app if they fix it in the future. To me, it's a bonus feature.
      Question: Will the DSP cable change the sound quality of the Zero Red compared to its own 3.5mm cable?

    • @treblewellxtended
      @treblewellxtended  3 місяці тому

      @@rakat04 In that case you can use it with Red. It will not change sound quality until you change it on app.
      Default profile is pretty neutral on free dsp.

    Quick question. If I found the Zero Reds unfomfortable to wear (too big on my ear canal I think), but really liked the sound, will the May be a good alternative?Not sure about the nozzle size difference here, but they're priced very similarly where I live.

    • @treblewellxtended
      @treblewellxtended  3 місяці тому +1

      For matching red performance Aria 2 or Hexa is right choice.
      However in similar price, Moondrop May is a very good set overall, but it doesn't match red's performance.

    Hello! I would like to ask a question, which iem headphones do you consider the best under $100? Aria 2 or some others? and what about May?

    • @treblewellxtended
      @treblewellxtended  2 місяці тому +1

      There are some great contenders under $100
      My favourite is ER2XR but that's hard to recommend because of fit.
      However here are some recommendations:
      All rounder: Aria 2.
      Epic Details and neutrality: Hexa
      If you are starting and do not have small ears, I would say get a Truthear Zero Red.
      Moondrop May is a very good set, but Aria 2 is better IEM overall.
      Hope it helps.

    and is there anything else i should be considering?

    • @treblewellxtended
      @treblewellxtended  4 місяці тому

      Tangzu Wan'er is good for neutral and balanced tonality, vocals and mids sound good.
      CHU II has a little bit more bass.
      I would say if you like some bass and warmth in music CHU II is a good option
      Overall sound Wan'er
      These are the best 2 options in budget category.

    Does sound changes with 3.5 cable?

    • @treblewellxtended
      @treblewellxtended  4 місяці тому

      To be honest, it doesn't even rely much on DSP. Most of the time app doesn't work.
      Works flawlessly on 3.5 mm and a DAC. I prefer that way only. Sounds exactly how I explained in DSP standard. A bit more dynamic.

    • @treblewellxtended
      @treblewellxtended  4 місяці тому +1

      I added the graph in community post for your reference, showing 3.5 and DSP are same.
      Just one thing 3.5 will require a DAC for full potential dynamic range.

    moondrop did a cost cutting with space travel by not giving leather case complimentary in box, which is necessary for open case design of space travel.
    moondrop did a cost cutting with may on eartips.
    where is the cost cutting in chu 2?

    • @treblewellxtended
      @treblewellxtended  4 місяці тому +1

      I think they wanted to keep a competitive pricing, so they kept fundamentals strong.
      Especially, For TWS a plastic case would have been appreciated agreed. Cause open back design has specific need for this.
      For CHU II again tips are same, they could have been better. Except B3, I never like eartips from Moondrop.

    Hello, please give me advice on which iem headphones under $100 to buy?
    I want to use it with a PC with a built-in sound card in the b650 aorus pro ax. Mainly music and games.
    Now I’m choosing between Hexa May and Aria 2, maybe also Crinicle and Kato.

    • @treblewellxtended
      @treblewellxtended  2 місяці тому +1

      Avoid Kato: It’s a good IEM but not value for money now.
      Aria 2: if you like slightly warm signature with good to do IEM in every way and the soundstage is a bit 3D so that’s a good thing for gaming as well.
      Hexa: if you want raw details and good neutral tonality but slightly thin
      Zero Red: if you’re starting and want to see how good IEMs are.
      Personally, I would say start with Red or Aria 2. Avoid Hexa as well since it’s a bit lean for new listeners. Aria 2 is best among above because of all rounder capabilities
      Hope it helps.

      @@thomastjiang9943 Yes, Moondrop FreeDSP is a solid cable. However the Moondrop Link App sucks.
      Good thing you can play around with EQ, once applied you do not require app. SO I like to play around a bit.
      Additionally, MIC comes handy on Multiplayer gaming
      Now do I recommend it, yes, if you need a new cable sure, otherwise, I think you can use various EQ with your 3.5 cable.
