Sofia not sure why you don’t have 100k subscribers. Your channel is so bright and cheery as well as always bringing us real info about lux beauty. Thank you!
She’s incredible you’re right, but I think the reason her channel isn’t as big is because the luxury beauty market is more of a niche on UA-cam, but I could be wrong
thank you for showing the palettes in natural light vs the website photos. it’s really helpful especially for us who don’t live in countries where we can see the palettes in person first and just rely on website photos when buying online.
I live in East Asian country and want to tell you'll smth you might find interesting. In here nobody use bronzers since pople prefer pale look, therefore Hourglass as well as the other 'western' brands market their bronzers as contour powders. Customers here often complain about Hourglass "contour" powders being too warm. I think it might be the reason brand started to make bronzers more cool toned. Asia is huge market. And secondly, Hourglass customer service here told me once their powders dont really have expiriory date! They have to put it on the packaging but powder itself is so high quality its supposed to last years. I hope u will find it helpful🌞😊
I hope you don't mind me asking a question, but how do you get a lighter, more diffuse look with the blushes? What kind of brushes do you prefer? Or do you use something other than a brush?I'm fair/light and I prefer a lighter skin look too. But you need a very light hand and the right tools to achieve that. I'd be grateful if you could share that information.
@DeborahCarlston the easiest way is to buy less pigmented blush, I'm pale too and i typically use flowerknows, peripera and dasique blushes. Asian brands mastered all kinds of products for pale skin tone. For me Hourglass powders work only during summer but they look beautiful on tan skin so i keep buying.
I would love to see you put the lightest palette from this year (dragon) on one side of your face and the lightest from last year (jellyfish) on the other. The swatches look different, but how different do they look on the face? Always appreciate your reviews and have been waiting for this one!!
Thank you for this, I bought one of their pallets last year and barely used it. I’m a sucker for the packaging, but I feel like these colors all the same once they’re on my face.
I had to laugh because my reaction to the palatte art work was the exact opposite of yours. I used your code to buy the evil eye palette but put it in the lotus tin. The evil eye artwork really did not do it for me to the point that I wouldn't have bought it if I couldn't change the tin. On the other hand I was immediately attracted to the vibrant pinks and blue of the lotus tin. Love your channel.
Thank you for a great review! I like the Evil Eye too. I have been waiting for you to review these. I do not own any of these. So, thinking I will pick the Evil Eye too.
The hourglass review I’ve been waiting for! As helpful as ever - One of those people who’s never had one of these palettes before but the dragon one has really caught my eye this time round 🙊
Thank you for being so thorough! I was really feeling that naive shade on the light palette, so thank you for showing for similar it is to mood light! I may still pick up one of the brushes in the cute packaging.
Thank you for including comparison photos to show the difference between the marketing photos and natural lighting. Hourglass really needs to stop with the misleading images. There’s such a huge difference!
This kind of review is why you are my absolute favourite on this platform. 💕 You are articulate, very detailed without rambling and also delivering useful information. I really appreciate you ❤️
I bought the lotus palette with the dragon case. I've never tried Hourglass before so am hoping the darker one works with my tan skin tone and isn't too deep--loved the color story the most since it has no pink blushes in it. Excited to try it out!
I Think you look lovely in this video and the dragón palette is very flattering. Im going to think about it as I would have liked the blushes to be less similar.
I still use last years Leopard palette every day for my med skin tone. Trying out lotus this year to see if the deeper tones can create a different look…not sure if it will work ! Evil eye seems similar to leopard ! Thanks for your reviews !
I have an older palette. Ambient lighting volume 4 I believe. It’s a pink case. I love it. I take it with me every time I travel. I’m considering the Evil eye palette.
I love the Hourglass palettes! I skipped the last two years because there were so many duplicate shades and I already had several that I hadn’t come close to using up. But now..I’m here for the Evil Eye palette, though I ordered it in the lotus packaging.
Got the light and medium palettes (using your promo code!) and I think this year’s are the best. Usually I can only use the bronzers as eyeshadows because they are too warm, but this year the more neutral shades are perfect! Always appreciate your videos-you have a very natural charm. Thanks!❤
I agree that Hourglass did a great job this year with these beautiful palettes. Being light to medium myself, I could’ve definitely gone with the evil eye palette, particularly for the finishing powder in that one, but I just don’t care for the bright blushes in them. So I ordered the dragon palette, along with the matching brush. The shiny gold background on it adds to its beauty, and I’m thrilled with the packaging. I also love the blush shades, as well as the bronzer in it. The finishing powders will be perfect for brightening under the eyes, and gently blurring the blushes and bronzer. They’re more translucent, so I’m sure I can make them work. The other thing that makes me happy is that it’s a different color story from last year’s jellyfish palette that I purchased last year with the owl cover. All in all, I’m very happy with my purchase.
Last year I got my first Hourglass holiday palette ( gellyfish). And I jused it so much that I am tempted to get another one this year. But I don't know if I want the dragon palette or the evil eye. ( I am fair with a cool undertone, dark hair and green eyes). First, I thought the dragon fur chure, but after the review I like the look of the evil eye palette as well. ( but I have no golden undertones, but when I get more tanned in summer, I get a bit olive, in the dead of winter I have really fair skin with cool undertone)
I have the leopard palette from last year so I opted for the lotus 🪷 pallet this year for something different. Should be showing up today! I'm excited 😊
Thank you for reviewing these HG palettes, Sofia! It was good to see you apply each palette to your face. I have a similar skin tone to yours and I ordered the Evil Eye palette with the Dragon cover. I am looking forward to using it. I got an HG palette last year and loved it. So glad to see they have so many new shades in each palette. I like that I can do a full face with one palette. Thanks again for your thorough review.
The Evil Eye is the one I’ve been looking at. I like that it has three blushes. I own two hourglass palettes. I have the Jellyfish and leopard palettes from last year.
Thank you so much for a wonderful review! I bought the evil eye palette with the lotus flower artwork …I have a light to medium skin tone and it looks stunning ! ❤️❤️
Thank you for your review! I purchased the 3rd pallet as it would work best with my skin tone but customized it to come in the Dragon cover as that one was just calling my name
Hi Sofia!! Good morning! 🙂 This video was PERFECT timing! I purchased my palette 1st day through your link directly from Hourglass, bought the Dragon palette, kept the Dragon design option, received in the mail YESTERDAY, and love it!! I did my morning makeup while watching this and on your recommendation used the palette for my Eyeshadow look! I LOVE the result and would wear for a great, everyday look! The finishing powders from Hourglass are the best for a blurred glow on the skin! ❤ This is the only "in tact" palette I have from Hourglass right now as I dropped my Sculpture palette this past year and broke both blushes. I LOVE that the blushes in the Dragon palette are different shades!!! YAYYY!! 🎉❤🎉
I have a medium-deep skin tone and I got the deepest palette in the dragon case with the dragon brush. Thank goodness your code was floating around on YT so I got a discount! This is my 4th HG palette and I love it! That red blush looks pretty stunning on my skin… like it was made for me! Love your channel. Thanks!
I have purchased one of the holiday palettes from Hourglass every year since they started. I buy them for my daughter. Last year I skipped them because there wasn't a palette that met her needs. She is of unusual ethnicity. She is Irish, French, American Indian and African American. This year I am excited for her to see the Lotus palette, although I think I would put those powders into the Evil Eye palette as that is more her esthetic. I don't think she is dark enough to use the finishing powder as a finishing powder because she has a more medium skin tone but I know she will like the blush shades and the highlighter. Thank you so much for showing us each of the palettes and in natural light. It is so helpful.
Hi Sofia, I have a 2020 Hourglass palette that is now completely worn out and I was thinking of getting a new one this year. That's why I'm watching all the review videos, but I still haven't been able to get an idea. And finally you arrive! Only you clarified all my doubts! You are clear, effective and brilliant! I'll go with Evil Eye ;-)
@@marina56they didn’t give specifics. Rep just said “Our internal teams are aware of the issue in the Dragon Palette and they are working diligently to investigate and resolve the issue.” If you have batch TB44 you’d observe a difference with the Peach shade immediately. Several other creators noted it in their first impressions, including Rebecca from Not Fit for Print and Michele Wang. Mine was nearly twice as tall as the neighboring shades and it was incredibly dry. Like a cake with a bad leavening agent. :/
I bought the Octopus last year and haven't used it as much as I thought I would. I'm going away for a week and will take it with me and see how I like it when I don't have lots of other options.
Hi dear Sofia, thanks for your, as always great review, also the comparisons of these!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩I already gave my thoughts on the packaging, i ended up with 2 lotus flower covers for palettes 1 and 2. They arrived today, so, only swatched so far, but the colours are more balanced and also the bronzers beautiful and not too warm! Thanks, have a wonderful day!!!😘😘😘😘
I only like the bronzers in palettes, the rest all look the same (on the skin) as the previous hourglass palettes. I have 6 of them already so I’m good!
I am light medium but went for the deep palette. I have too many pink blushes. They look okay on me but i am olive and pink tones are just not my favorite.
I think I'm going to have to pick up 2/3 or all 3 of them! I wish they would have stuck with the animal theme of the past 2 years, the illustrations were much more compelling than this year's.
Sofia, I have been waiting for your review. I bought the medium story with the Dragon package on the first day with your code.😅 I Love it! The only other one I have is Snake from last year and I Love that. They are very different but still so wearable. I too travel with mine.
Dearest Sofia 😊❤ Thank you for a great video 🎉I really enjoyed it and found the in-depth review very helpful 😀 👏 I'm fair skinned like you, so I really appreciate that you try and show how all the pallets look on your skin 😊 Big hugs and Xo from Helle, Denmark 🇩🇰 😊❤
I got the dragon one and I really like it. From watching reviews, people kept saying the peachy blush wasn't showing up much, so I wasn't careful with it and hoo-boy I need a light hand with that one (I'm very fair). I was super happy about 2 finishing powders, I don't have any hourglass palettes or finishing powders and I had been wanting a finishing powder from them so this was perfect for me
Hi. What shade are you in Chanel by chance or other foundations I’m trying to figure out if I should get dragon or evil eye. I have fair light skin. I’m not super fair more in between
Sofia, I just came back and watched this video for a second time because I was blown away by your complexion!!! I looked to see what foundation you were using and you used the Sweed Glass Skin Foundation. I then looked to see if you had done a wear test or a video regarding this foundation and I couldn't find one. I love the lipstick from the same brand. Is there a foundation video for this foundation and I am not seeing it? If not, what are your thoughts on it? I am really interested but don't want to order from Sweden if it wouldn't work for me. Thank you so much for any help. Deborah
If I could pick up separate powders and the component and make my own palette that would be cool. I'm still waiting for my perfect hourglass palette. They are too expensive to buy one and not use all of the colours
Hi Sophia. Charlotte Holcroft showed a little preview of the Nars holiday face palette. It looks like it's in between the HG dragon and eye palettes, and it will probably be about 2/3 the price. Maybe you can do a comparison when it launches. Thanks 😍
I love that you used the powders as eyeshadows!!! When I saw the palette with the lotus design, I was immediately drawn to it! This is my first Hourglass palette, even though most of my makeup since 2016 has been from Hourglass Cosmetics-none of their previous palettes ever spoke to me until now. I signed up for early access, and when I received the sneak peek and saw Red 0 included, I was so excited. This year, I decided to change my lipstick shade, having always stuck to their "I'll Never Stop" (Beige Nude) Confession Ultra Slim High Intensity Lipstick. Feeling daring, I tried Red 0 in the Confession Ultra Slim High Intensity Lipstick and instantly fell in love with its stunning red shade. For reference, my foundation is Laura Mercier's Real Flawless Weightless Perfecting Foundation in 4N2 Tea (medium with neutral undertones). My perfect shades are the Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Nude Bronze Light, Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure (soft plum), and Ambient Strobe Lighting Powder in Euphoric. I justified purchasing the palette mainly for the Red 0 blush, knowing that even if the bronzer, finishing powder, and highlighters in the Lotus palette were too deep, they could still work as eyeshadows. When my first Hourglass palette arrived, it confirmed my suspicions: aside from the two blushes, and the bronzer (which I use as a contour powder) the other shades were indeed too deep for my complexion. However, they make amazing eyeshadows! I really hope Hourglass makes Red 0 a permanent shade in their range and starts offering more neutral shades. It would be even better if they introduced the option to customise the shades within their palettes.
Hi Sofia: The Dragon palette has 2 shades that are two dark for my fair skin. First the highlighter: Nope doesn’t work and is way too dark on me. The new face powder is also too dark and shows as a light warm peach on me. I’ll use it for color correcting hopefully. The bronzer is ok, but also too dark. I can make it work with a light hand. For reference I use dim light as a bronzer and it’s perfect.
As soon as you told us about these pallets I couldn’t wait I used your discount code and I ordered the evil eye pallet, I’m light-med and I love those pallet I do own 4 now and I love them all but honestly this one is the best and I will use it a lot I’m sure Cheers and love from Canada 🇨🇦
I would love to see the side by side swatch comparisons that you usually do with your reviews, will you be showing these on Instagram? For example the blush shades compared between the lighter palettes on your hand? Xx
Thank you Sofia for this great review, i bought the lotus palette the day it was released in the UK and i was in two mind if i needed/wanted the Evil eye and you review has helped me make up my mind🙏🏾just ordered it💃🏽💃🏽you are so great at this keep up the great job
I have the lotus pallete and also the tiger and i have some thoughts. 1 - the lotus is the most committed holiday pallete for deeper skin that hourglass has done so far. The tiger and snake seemed less curated for darker skin, more like they wanted a colour story which would pass for darker skin but still be usable for light-medium skin. 2- I appreciate the peachy blush as something to mix with red blush but by itself it does not show up on me, no matter how much i build it and I am by no means super dark skinned - I am a mac nc50/nars macao/fenty 390. 3 - the "bronzer" is a contour for me also, it is neutral-cool leaning. 4 - 3rd year in a row the dark pallete has had light blue packaging 😂 Overall I do like the lotus more then the tiger as an all round face palette, where i can have my contour, finishing powder, blush and highlight. My issue with tiger was the fact it has 3 highlighters (2 that are ashy on me )and the 2 blushes a more highlighing blush toppers so it is not very complete as a face pallette. Hourglass is moving at a snails pace in the right direction 👍🏾
I received my Evil eye palette (Dragon Case) yesterday. Oh I really love it. I had the Elephant palette a year or 2 ago I think that’s when it came out. I declutterred it, highlighter too dark, bronzer too orange. Eh. This one is so much better for me. I’m medium-neutral. Blends so amazing. My favorite powders for my dry skin. Even better than RMS blushes(sorry). I agree about the 2 pinkish blushes, but I mixed the apricot one with the coral one to make a different blush. But, the apricot looks great on its own too. I also love the highlighter, even on my eyes with the bronzer in the crease. I’m traveling, quite a bit for the next 2 months. so this came just in time.
Hello , can You make comparsion dragon vs jellyfish ? And the this spring was quad ( bronzer, two blushes and highliter) - is it possible compare to evil eye ? 😊
Every year I wait for this review lol I have no idea why it’s just exciting !! I just feel like I should have bought the palette last year I’m not super sold on this one 😣
Ur the only one that demo’s the finishing powder for the dragon palette and let us know the difference! I like that they have 2 finishing powders that would be what I would pan the soonest but really wish it was more 2 different tone… almost a buy!
I've been interested in the Lotus palette, mainly for the 2 blushes. The Red 0 shade looks very similar to a blush I own - the Suqqu Melting Powder Blush in 07 Yoiurushi. But my main concern is whether Hourglass has been able to achieve the same refined, luminous finish in the red shade that they have been able to offer in the pink blushes they typically come out with. Some swatches of the red shade look a bit patchy. Another thing I'm not sure about is whether it's safe to use these highlighters on the eyes although this extends to bronzers / highlighters of other brands as well, not just Hourglass. And thank you for your review, very helpful as always!
Thanks so much Sofia! Will you be getting and reviewing the new NARS face palette, I’m looking to compare to figure out which one to purchase. Not sure if the promo just shows one palette or if they will launch more than one, but a review would be invaluable 😊
Any advice on whether i should get the Barneys Vol 2 or the Evil Eye Palette? I am fair to medium skin tone and it would be my first Hourglass palette!
I wish I could mix the blush shades and highlighters and blushes to make your own 😅 I’m in looove with the blush colors of the deep pallet the highlighter of the medium palette and the finishing power of the medium as I am a light olive tone and the mauve blush and bronzer from the dragon pallet 😅 I so wish we could mix them or buy them all in singles or something either would be perfection 😘🤌🏼💕
hi Sofia! could you please compare Dragon and Evil Eye palettes with Chanel summer face palettes? I know they are "quite" different, but Im in doubts, because I want a good looking bronzer and a blush for my complexion, but cannot decide now and don't want to buy many makeup 😅
Nothing is unique anymore. It’s just up to you what you want to spend your money on and how many of one thing you want to have in your collection. The only thing about makeup that’s unique these days is packaging.
I have the cheetah palette from last year and I've been so torn whether to pick another up this year, specifically dragon. I use my cheetah palette almost daily but the finishing powder is too dark for my skintone and the mood exposure blush is the swirled kind and it has way too much of the lighter tone in it, making it almost unusable because it gives no effect. I noticed hourglass did away with the fused (swirled) blushes this year which makes is more appealing to me. Hourglass truly is one of my favorite powder bronzer/blushes but they do not have quality control on the fused products they sell. I think that is what's tempting me the most with these palettes. After watching your review now I'm wondering if I want evil eye lol. The indeciveness continues!
@sofiaseesbeauty this is a great review. I’m so confused now what to get bc i have a similar skin tone to you i think. I’m b20 in chanel and i had my eye set on dragon. I have the leopard from last year which has mood exposure. I prefer more natural looking blushes and the evil eye they look very pink and bright more so than leopard. I really don’t need this but I love the evil eye packaging. If I get dragon I want it in the evil eye . I put my leopard in the owl packaging. So the options are we either get the evil eye that has blushes that look similar or the dragon that has finishing powders that are similar. If anyone bought this already and it tried it and you have a similar skin tone to me pls give me your advice if I should pass or which one to get. Also from the video it looks like the dragon is warmer than the evil eye because the evil eye has these very bright pinks but Sofie said the opposite. If you own the dragon already, can you tell me if it’s super cool or warm? I didn’t buy the jellyfish last year because it was too cool.
The dragon palette is not warm other than the peach blush. I think your best bet based on what you are saying is to get the dragon or just buy a single from hourglass
@@SofiaSeesBeauty hi. I prefer more neutral or peachy blushes. Don’t love hot pinks but I’m wondering if the finishing powders in dragon won’t be good for my skin as u said it’s more for under eyes ? I don’t need that. I love the ones that are good for all the over face. Have you tried using the dragon finishing powders all over the face and see how it looks on your cheeks ? I didn’t get the jellyfish bec the setting powders and highlighters were too cool toned. I don’t mind a neutral cool toned bronzer I just don’t love such cool blushes bec it brings out redness I have in my cheeks. Can you let me know if you think I should just pass on this and just use leopard from last year because because the pink and the leopard palette actually actually work on me, they’re not too bright. So I will take your advice if you think I should just stay with the leopard and not buy anything this year or if you think the dragon will be suitable if it’s not too cool, including the setting powders. I wear Lisa Eldridge foundation shade 6. Skin tint 3 and Armani luminous silk foundation shade 5. Chanel b20. I hope you see this message. Thanks so much !
It’s my first time buying an Hourglass powder, I live in Bulgaria so we don’t have them here. I am light medium and I got the evil eye palette and the hard pressed blush does not show up on me. I first thought there’s something wrong with mine. I got it to work a little bit with the BK Anjie Blush Brush. Also that bronzer is not made for medium skin tones, it barely shows up on me. The other blushes and the highlight are okay I guess. The only thing I was impressed by and get the hype is the finishing powder. Other than that I was like, what am I missing here, these are mid!
Thanks for this review Sofia! I knew you’d love the Mati palette fellow Greek girl. I am always so tempted by these palettes which would be fine if I used powders. I don’t. I have several full sized HG palettes as well as multiple blush and smaller HG palettes from past years and they are all basically unused. I recently gave away 3 of them to my nieces, but I want more because they are so beautiful! I clearly have a problem with pretty palettes. Anyway I have light olive skin, and I like neutral toned colors. I can wear any of these palettes but not in the same way. The deep palette would basically be a blush palette for me. The tempter I. That palette is the red blush. Is the red blush in that truly red? If it is I think I’ll get it. If it’s a berry, I’m not as tempted because I have many berry blushes. Help please! They all look beautiful on you!
Sofia- I heard you say that you’re fair but I know u tried the new Patrick Ta in 6N like I have and it matches me perfectly so I think we are the same tone and color but I always called myself light and not fair. Wondering if I’m a light as well? Are you a fair neutral? Trying to figure myself out. Thank you! And I’m tempted to get the Evil Eye bec I have the Elephant from before but this one looks prettier and less warm to me. Thoughts on the comparison between the two? Elephant seems a bit too warm for me.
I consider myself fair but I am neutral-warm undertone. A lot of fair shades look super cool and pink on me. What I have noticed is that in the past I used to always be the lightest shade but now that brands have become more inclusive there are a lot more lighter shade options to choose from with various undertones (making me shade 5 in the Patrick Ta). You are totally correct in noticing that the Evil Eye is not as warm as the Elephant. I rarely reach for the Elephant palette because the bronzer is SO orangey and the blushes are bright pink. You won't have issues with the bronzer in Evil Eye (I think you will like it a lot better)
@@SofiaSeesBeautyThanks for much. I for some reason thought u were 6N in the Patrick Ta and yes it’s seems these days I’m usually the second or third or fourth lightest shade now that there are more. I’m very tempted by the Evil Eye now. Thank you for reviewing for us.
I have the jaguar. I used it like 10 times. As much as i am into evil eye because of my cultural background, i will pass. It doea look great. I gave it a thought but will be responsible and buy new chanel blush:)
Sophia, I wanted to let you know that I did receive my dragon palette in the light color way and two of the pans were not glued down and were sticking up and fell right out so I had to contact customer service. There might be some quality control issues here in the first batch that are being sent from Hourglass.
@@SofiaSeesBeauty I’m sure they will, it will be no problem. This is the first time that it has happened to me. (They shipped a new one and it arrived today. 🫶)
I hesitated on ordering the dragon palette and now the Hourglass website isn’t allowing discount codes anymore for some reason so I guess I’m waiting for these to come to Sephora!
Hi Sofia, Thanks for your review ❤ I think Hourglass can't ever make everyone's wishes accomplished 😂 i think the dragon palette is not very suitable for fair skin with a cool undertone😅 i think they need to release even more varieties to try make us all happy 🙊
@@SofiaSeesBeauty 😀I can for sure make it work in summer, but not sure about winter. Anyways, I love Hourglass. They always bring perfect quality products. They do not have any duds in my experience :)
I agree with your review. Thanks for the thoroughness. I already have two palettes that I rarely use so I will skip these ones. Although the evil eye looks nice, I just don't need any more Hourglass palettes.

The websites can be very deceiving.
My pleasure! I know what you mean
I live in East Asian country and want to tell you'll smth you might find interesting. In here nobody use bronzers since pople prefer pale look,
therefore Hourglass as well as the other 'western'

Thanks for your perspective! I am glad the bronzers are not super warm this year
I hope you don't mind me asking a question, but how do you get a lighter, more diffuse look with the blushes? What kind of brushes do you prefer? Or do you use something other than a brush?I'm fair/light and I prefer a lighter skin look too. But you need a very light hand and the right tools to achieve that. I'd be grateful if you could share that information.
thank you for reply 😊🌺 me too, at least we got smth new to play with
@DeborahCarlston the easiest way is to buy less pigmented blush, I'm pale too and i typically use flowerknows, peripera and dasique blushes. Asian brands mastered all kinds of products for pale skin tone. For me Hourglass powders work only during summer but they look beautiful on tan skin so i keep buying.
I wish the deepest bronzer (lotus tin) hadn’t been so cool-toned. I’m worried it’ll be ashy on me 😕
I grabbed all three for myself plus a few more for my sisters and nieces. 💞
Niceeee
Great info, great review
Thank you for a great review! I like the Evil Eye too. I have been waiting for you to review these. I do not own any of these. So, thinking I will pick the Evil Eye too.
I decided to buy one this year for the first time - the evil eye in the lotus packaging….thanks for this wonderful comprehensive review
Nice! You are welcome
The hourglass review I’ve been waiting for! As helpful as ever - One of those people who’s never had one of these palettes before but the dragon one has really caught my eye this time round 🙊
I'm a medium tone so I prefer the Evil Eye palette. Thank you for this informative review.
This is the first year there’s a palette with blushes I love. The lotus palette with Dragon packaging is definitely on my wishlist.
The lighting in this vid is perfection! Especially with the digital image comparison. You capture the magic of every product you feature 💯💖
Thank you!! So glad you think so. It's very difficult to film in natural light because it's very inconsistent
This kind of review is why you are my absolute favourite on this platform. 💕
You are articulate, very detailed without rambling and also delivering useful information.
I really appreciate you ❤️
Thank you so much I appreciate that
I bought the lotus palette with the dragon case. I've never tried Hourglass before so am hoping the darker one works with my tan skin tone and isn't too deep--loved the color story the most since it has no pink blushes in it. Excited to try it out!
The palettes look gorgeous on you! Your skin literally looks like glass. I’m waiting for it to hit Ulta on 9/20 to purchase, can’t wait!
Omg!! Finally this video!!! I've been waiting since these pallets launched 😂 You have the best review and comparison videos by far!!! ❤
😘😘
I Think you look lovely in this video and the dragón palette is very flattering. Im going to think about it as I would have liked the blushes to be less similar.
I still use last years Leopard palette every day for my med skin tone. Trying out lotus this year to see if the deeper tones can create a different look…not sure if it will work ! Evil eye seems similar to leopard ! Thanks for your reviews !
Thanks Sofia. I look forward to your reviews on these pallets.
How different is the peach blush in the dragon palette to the coral blush in the evil eye palette??
You're welcome!
You're welcome!
YAYYY!! 🎉❤🎉
Yay so glad! OMG girl, I also dropped my Sculpture palette last year and sadly the brighter blush broke :( but I still use it lol
@@SofiaSeesBeauty 😂❤️😂. What a coincidence!! Yes, great colors in that palette also!!
I have been waiting for this video! So glad you reviewed this since your reviews are so helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks!
Yay I am so glad you like it!!
Check your batch numbers. The Dragon Palette in batch TB44 has a defective Peach Fusion, per Hourglass directly.
Oh really? My peach fusion seems ok
Defective how?
@@marina56they didn’t give specifics. Rep just said “Our internal teams are aware of the issue in the Dragon Palette and they are working diligently to investigate and resolve the issue.” If you have batch TB44 you’d observe a difference with the Peach shade immediately. Several other creators noted it in their first impressions, including Rebecca from Not Fit for Print and Michele Wang. Mine was nearly twice as tall as the neighboring shades and it was incredibly dry. Like a cake with a bad leavening agent. :/
@@thedylangirl I remember Michele mentioning something now. Thank you.
I bought the Octopus last year and haven't used it as much as I thought I would. I'm going away for a week and will take it with me and see how I like it when I don't have lots of other options.
The review we have been waiting for! I’ve been over here refreshing waiting for this 😂
yay!
Thanks, have a wonderful day!!!😘😘😘😘
Thank you Annemarie!
I appreciate how I can rely on you to test & review the products that I'm most curious about; thank you!❤
You are so welcome!
I only like the bronzers in palettes, the rest all look the same (on the skin) as the previous hourglass palettes. I have 6 of them already so I’m good!
I purchased through you. Thank you for your amazing reviews Sophia! 🥰
Thank you!
Thank you for your very thoughtful and thorough review ❤
Really enjoyed the thorough review!
I’m glad to see you review this. Your skin tone/undertone looks the closest so far to mine out of those I’ve seen review/ swatch this. Just subscribed
Thank you for your support Carrie!
I bought the dragon with matching brush and love it! I also love your channel!
Yayy!
Dearest Sofia 😊❤
Thank you for a great video 🎉I really enjoyed it and found the in-depth review very helpful 😀 👏 I'm fair skinned like you, so I really appreciate that you try and show how all the pallets look on your skin 😊
Big hugs and Xo from Helle, Denmark 🇩🇰 😊❤
I got the dragon one and I really like it. From watching reviews, people kept saying the peachy blush wasn't showing up much, so I wasn't careful with it and hoo-boy I need a light hand with that one (I'm very fair). I was super happy about 2 finishing powders, I don't have any hourglass palettes or finishing powders and I had been wanting a finishing powder from them so this was perfect for me
Hi. What shade are you in Chanel by chance or other foundations I’m trying to figure out if I should get dragon or evil eye. I have fair light skin. I’m not super fair more in between
Forgot to ask if the finishing powders seem very pink toned and too light for light skin
@@makeupjunkie723 I don’t think they’re pink toned at all. One is kinda champagney and the other one is slightly lighter than that one
@@makeupjunkie723 I’ve not tried Chanel but I tend to be the fairest rosy shade brands have
Oh interesting! I didn't have any issues with it showing up
Sofia, I just came back and watched this video for a second time because I was blown away by your complexion!!!
Your skin is glowing ❤
Thank you!
They are my favorite makeup items every year. I bought the dragon and lotus. Thinking about getting the evil eye.
Great feedback! I agree they should make it a permanent shade because the existing blushes are all very light
As soon as you told us about these pallets I couldn’t wait I used your discount code and I ordered the evil eye pallet, I’m light-med and I love those pallet I do own 4 now and I love them all but honestly this one is the best and I will use it a lot I’m sure
Cheers and love from Canada 🇨🇦
Yay so glad!
What discount code??
Hopefully we will get at least two deeper options next year.
How do you tell a person of color we don’t want your money without saying the words?
Unfortunately. Year after year we’ve been asking for deeper. Although this is the deepest it’s not deep enough.
Girl i don’t think they gonna do it
@@mjbelle23 listen, it took Chanel a minute but they seem to be getting things together over there. Not that it should’ve taken this long.
@@enamoredbeauty true true and we all still buy Chanel I know I do and I will buy hourglass as well
I would love to see the side by side swatch comparisons that you usually do with your reviews, will you be showing these on Instagram? For example the blush shades compared between the lighter palettes on your hand? Xx
They probably won't look very different to be honest! Because the makeup is so natural
I’m thinking of splurging on the Dragon palette :)
I liked the dragon, also the evil eye but... if i can i would get the barneys palette instead
Thank you Sofia for this great review, i bought the lotus palette the day it was released in the UK and i was in two mind if i needed/wanted the Evil eye and you review has helped me make up my mind🙏🏾just ordered it💃🏽💃🏽you are so great at this keep up the great job
Yay so glad it was helpful!
4 - 3rd year in a row the dark pallete has had light blue packaging 😂
Overall I do like the lotus more then the tiger as an all round face palette, where i can have my contour, finishing powder, blush and highlight. My issue with tiger was the fact it has 3 highlighters (2 that are ashy on me )and the 2 blushes a more highlighing blush toppers so it is not very complete as a face pallette. Hourglass is moving at a snails pace in the right direction 👍🏾
Thanks for sharing this!!!
Sofia, any thoughts on the limited edition brush? The one with the evil eye is tempting me😊
The brushes from Hourglass are quite good. I won't be getting them but they are good quality
I’m traveling, quite a bit for the next 2 months. so this came just in time.
i agree the Elephant palette had a very orange bronzer and I would use it more if it didn't
I don’t know any and I’m Having FOMO after seeing your reviews. I want to get one. ❤you have THE BEST reviews
Thank you Louise 💕
Hello , can You make comparsion dragon vs jellyfish ? And the this spring was quad ( bronzer, two blushes and highliter) - is it possible compare to evil eye ? 😊
Every year I wait for this review lol I have no idea why it’s just exciting !! I just feel like I should have bought the palette last year I’m not super sold on this one 😣
Amazing video!
Ur the only one that demo’s the finishing powder for the dragon palette and let us know the difference! I like that they have 2 finishing powders that would be what I would pan the soonest but really wish it was more 2 different tone… almost a buy!
Such a useful review. Thank you! Do I need it? Nope. Will I buy it to add to my collection? Yep. 😅
So far I haven't had any issues using all of the hourglass powders on my eyes. I usually use the highlighters all over the lid.
Thanks so much Sofia! Will you be getting and reviewing the new NARS face palette, I’m looking to compare to figure out which one to purchase. Not sure if the promo just shows one palette or if they will launch more than one, but a review would be invaluable 😊
My pleasure! I wasn't planning on getting the Nars but now some subbies are asking me about it maybe I will check it out
I'm one of these people who doesn't own a single one of these palettes. But I'm eyeing the Evil Eye one to purchase this fall. Thanks for the review!
Nice!!
Any advice on whether i should get the Barneys Vol 2 or the Evil Eye Palette? I am fair to medium skin tone and it would be my first Hourglass palette!
Do you think these are going to restock at the hourglass website? The color story I want is not available in any of the packaging I would want
I picked up the dragon palette in the lotus packaging and the evil eye palette the way it comes.
Yay so glad to hear that you use it all the time! When I find one that is balanced I use it a lot as well
@sofiaseesbeauty this is a great review.
Thanks for sharing! I definitely think that the bronzer should have been more different for that palette
They’re pretty, but I don’t like any of the 3 packaging themes.
To me it definitely seems like more of a red :)
Nice choice! :)
Sophia, I wanted to let you know that I did receive my dragon palette in the light color way and two of the pans were not glued down and were sticking up and fell right out so I had to contact customer service. There might be some quality control issues here in the first batch that are being sent from Hourglass.
Oh no I hope that they can replace that for you quickly. I haven't that issue so far
Yup! I reached out to them and they said they are getting rid of all their codes
Hi Sofia, Thanks for your review ❤
I think Hourglass can't ever make everyone's wishes accomplished 😂 i think the dragon palette is not very suitable for fair skin with a cool undertone😅 i think they need to release even more varieties to try make us all happy 🙊
I politely disagree :) The only warm shade is the peach blush which is a very popular color in most ranges
@@SofiaSeesBeauty 😀I can for sure make it work in summer, but not sure about winter. Anyways, I love Hourglass. They always bring perfect quality products. They do not have any duds in my experience :)
@sophiaseesbeauty - which one is on top - mauve haze or mood exposure?
mauve haze
Does anyone know,Which finishing powders are the closest to diffused light?
I am never sure when to use finishing powder are you using it prior to applying bronzer, blush and highlighter?
Yup! I use it to set my face and also to blend out blush and eyeshadow
I agree with your review. Thanks for the thoroughness. I already have two palettes that I rarely use so I will skip these ones. Although the evil eye looks nice, I just don't need any more Hourglass palettes.
Love reading your comment! Very refreshing (in lieu of all the comments 'im buying!', 'i ordered!' et cetera
