Hi there! Absolutely appreciate this song, thankful that you shared it. We played it in our small group, and it was well received. There is this one line, "You will see there a banquet for sinners spread," that is throwing us off because it says "sinners." What Scripture that is based on? We believe that, in heaven in the presence of the Lord, we will no longer be known as sinners. Are we thinking about this Biblically? We look forward to your reply. Thank you.
I mean, I agree with you that we won't be identified by our sin in the new heavens and new earth, but the fact will remain that we'll be there because of the grace of Jesus, not because of our merit. So the line makes sense to me: people who don't deserve to be there will be at the table of Jesus. If the song said, "banquet for perfected people" it would be more confusing.
We played this in worship in Smithfield, VA today! Love it.
Wendell, I led my youth group in worship with this song tonight in Dallas Texas.
