The SpaceX CEO was recently named Time's Person of the Year, and while appearing at at a Time event on Monday, he brought his and Grimes' 18-month-old son X Æ A-12 onstage and he totally stole the spotlight away from his famous dad.

That isn’t always a good thing. Toddlers often scream, push boundaries and can be loud cause it is part of their developmental phase at this point. Sometimes when kids are this quiet and focused it means they have been overly structured and trained, which restraints them emotionally. Also, he has like 7 kids, can’t imagine him having time for them all

Everyone saying how well behaved his 18 month old is must’ve never met an 18 month old. The craziness starts at 2(24 months). A lot of young toddlers are like this, specially when they’re put in a situation they’ve never been in before with loads of people; it’s overwhelming for them to the point they freeze like deer in headlights. Put that little one in a familiar settings like his own home and he might not sit so still

I had four kids, only one was shy in a crowd, the other three thought it was their time to shine. They had to at least try the situation to see what they could get away with. They were taught that when they got that "look", they better stop what they are doing.
Most babies get a little fussy and restless at the age, if they have to sit still for very long... believe me 18 mos is close enough to 2 yrs. Elon knows he is a really chill toddler, otherwise I doubt he’d have brought him.

Lol no…his 18 month old is extremely well behaved. Very relaxed. Healthy attachment and trust. Like another commenter said: Elon wouldn’t have brought him with him if he was a fussy baby. Usually a child would get antsy or babble and become disruptive. But this little guy is so good!!

What happened to Grimes' statement of saying she refused to raise her child as gendered and would not put his face in the public eye, for privacy/safety reasons and because she felt that children cannot consent to being exploited and thrown into the media spotlight?
Both she and Elon started off covering X's face in social media posts, but then it seems they realized what a HUGE market and P.R. potential showing and using him would be for both of their careers and publicity.
Don't get me wrong, X is adorable and it does genuinely seem like Grimes truly loves him ( even though she raised him to not call her "mom" because that damages her "cool girl" persona
But for Elon, the child is definitely used to soften his public image and increase his positive P.R. by making him look like a more wholesome, devoted family man.
the reality is that X spends far more time in the presence of child care workers than he does with Musk alone.

I agree, I believe grimes is an unfit mother too, she's simply too young and it shows (and I'm aware there's young responsible mothers), grimes just doesn't seem to be one of them.
@@squiddlewoddle4158 I don't necessarily think that Grimes is too young to be a fit mother/parent as much as it is that she seems to reckless, ( has her own significant issues with Ed's , drug use, etc.) and possibly naive regarding the weight of just how big of a job/position it is to be a parent.
I have no doubt that she loves her child, I just worry that her constant need to push an " Edgy, cool girl narrative/persona" could come in the way of appropriate raising a mentally and emotionally secure child.
I guess the silver lining in all of it, is that both Grimes and Elon are able to pay and employ excellent help/child care/nannies and the reality is that their son will likely spend much of it's early life being tended to by them.
