No surprise to learn this was written by Johnny cash in 1953 and recorded in July 1955 with Johnny Cash Vocals and guitar with Luther Perkins on Guitar and Marshall Grant on Bass, there was no drummer so Johnny Cash used a piece of paper in the strings of his guitar to create the sound of a snare, it was released as a single in December 1955. Bonus the B-side was So Doggone Lonesome. Because of that close connection by all the band you can hear the fun in the music, judge for yourself.
