- Dozens of Bronx residents are struggling through the summer's heat with a broken elevator in their apartment building and no resolution in sight. CBS New York's Ali Bauman reports.
It’s bad for the elderly, the laundry, the grocery, the deliveries.
Call 311 every single day and report defective elevator complaint. Use the sr # to check status on the repair and if violations were issued. Stay on the owners neck.
We live on the 17 floor and this happens on the regular but 6 floors gets the story smh

A broken elevator since May??!!! They should all withhold the rent until it’s fixed. Take the management to housing court.

I do step machine once a week at gym. 20 mins and 1000 steps. Best exercise hands down

How is this a news story? It's a six floor building. I live in a five floor walk up building, one of thousands in the city. Perfectly legal. I have a friend who lives on the top floor of a seven floor walk up in the Village, also perfectly legal because it's an older building that was grandfathered in.

Is this seriously news? I live on the 4th floor of my building in Harlem we NEVER had an elevator😂 it’s not like every one there lives at the highest floor either

really the Feds need to get on this....sue the LLC there is a way to do this.....landlords need to be held in JAIL ASAP!
It really depends on the income being generated by the apartments.
No sane landlord would actively WANT to keep the elevator broken ,how would you be able to sell it to perspective tenants? I know the market is Hot in New York but not having a working elevator is surely gonna have an effect on rental prices which translates into less profit for the landlord.
