Damn, if you wrote that you are good in writing storys, if you didnt well then you still gave me a great story to read. So anyways thank you for posting this epic tale of darknes, fear and corruption. I am really grateful to you for letting me enjoy this music even more while reading this story.

What I personally see Isaac battling ??? as is the final defeat of his deepest conflicts after a painful past (An abusive mother (The true degree of abuse is unfortunately unknown.), absent father and sister (As shown in the ending,which also claims that his sister also had a problem, POSSIBLY leading to a sad split at an unknown time period in Isaac's life where they both took half, including kids), and a dead pet who was his last savoir (Given that Guppy is a huge benefit to Isaac and that he actually BECOMES Guppy, showing that Guppy kept Isaac strong and sane before it died.)), grappling with the worst one of them all: contemplating suicide. In having to face the true reality of the memories in the Chest (as seen in the ending and reinforced by having to use the Polaroid to access it in the first place), one final fight leads Isaac to snap out of it and send the possible reality of ??? packing up as Isaac throws his past into the Chest and uses Dad's Key to lock it up, but still clutching onto the key itself, symbolizing his past no longer controls him and that he can now escape from Mom's abuse with Dad's Key.

I always found that part in particular sounds a fair lot like the early stages and the theme in general is somewhat like a mashup of other themes. It is like a reminder of which challenges you faced up to this point and reminds you that you still need to get better because your opponent has faced them as well.
A definite struggle against one's inner turmoil, and this song rightly feels very satisfying to listen to because of what it and its title represents. Added: Unsure if one of those two uses of 'to' should be 'too'. If anyone knows better than please do correct me if I'm wrong at all here with that. XD
I got Polyphemus, Brimstone and Spirit of the Night as Cain with multiple pills. The charge time for my blood laser was like 5 seconds but the bosses in the cathedral go down in one hit with that awesome combination.
Maggy would have higher health, but fire slower and restore health at certain points, Cain would be able to stand up for a few seconds then and then and dodge your shots, Eve would send dead bird after you like peeps eyes and her damage would increase when she reaches her third stage due to whore of babylon, Samson would get increased damage every time he hits you.

Tech and Brim let you fire half charged shots, which is nice because of getting cornered by flies and stuff, but it takes like.. twice as long to charge for half of the total possible brimstone damage. So it's up and down.
I got a hard-on beating ??? the first time. All that effort from previous playthroughs culminating to one final battle, coming away from it a champ. Hell yeah.

Technically ???/Blue Baby is the final boss, because you get the final ending for defeating him (which says "The End" when it's over). But, yes, you can choose who you want to fight at the end of a run, depending on whether you go the Sheol or the Cathedral, and whether or not you're carrying The Polaroid trinket.

Tech and Brim let you fire half charged shots, which is nice because of getting cornered by flies and stuff, but it takes like.. twice as long to charge for half of the total possible brimstone damage. So it's up and down.

Technically ???/Blue Baby is the final boss, because you get the final ending for defeating him (which says "The End" when it's over). But, yes, you can choose who you want to fight at the end of a run, depending on whether you go the Sheol or the Cathedral, and whether or not you're carrying The Polaroid trinket.
