what's crazier is getting a sneak peek into how Cavalcade would've sounded with Matt in the band. See if you can find the one live version of Slow with Matt. It's interesting
@@ZaneFowler I saw them live in New Zealand recently and they've started to play the majority of their set with Seth "Shank" Evans on bass now and Cam on second guitar, including Slow. It seems they might be trying to go back towards that more noise-rock-y sound they had when Matt was in the band again.
holy SHIT. This randomly came up in my recommended and it's my first introduction to these guys. This is superb. These guys have a unique sound entirely their own. Thank you for uploading!
first of all, THANK YOU FOR THIS. was there last night too and am still so floored by their performance. but now I realize that Geordie just fucking long-con trolled the whole crowd by quoting Kanye West - Stronger with his first and last words of the night, opening with "I need you right now" and closing with "let's get lost tonight, you can be my black Kate Moss tonight" LOOOOL

When I made my move to the front during the first pit I lost my sneaker. Spent the entire show in front of the best drummer in the world. Saw them a few weeks before at canal st. I'm seen on both videos lol
thank you. i was there, front and center. my femurs hurt from the crunch. what did you use to record? audio is scary good. great video production. i adore you for this
Honestly I kind of love that feeling, sore legs or abdominal muscles from holding on. Lucky sod I already have a ticket for something else the next time they're near me, some band.
@@CSaboe By soundboard, I just mean the mixing desk which there must have been owing to all the microphones on stage. Most live mixing desks these days have an option to output all the channels over usb allowing them to be recorded which is what I think the live engineer has done this time.
@@TheProJuicers1 thank you. at 51, i am trying to retain tech sense before being rendered mentally incapable of doing so. your response is educative and i appreciate you, your reply. the show was sick, i got crushed, made me seriously consider being too old to physically expose myself to a mass of exuberant youth. my sincere thanks
Little over a year ago had a chance to go see them, I thought to myself I’m sure they come back to the states sometime soon again, only if I could’ve known what the world had in store for us haha
like sound-wise/mixing?? cause at the show i feel like i could barley hear him in the mic, the mixing in this youtube video sounds totally different than when i was in the crowd
MANGAN this sounds like it’s a soundboard recording that was mixed afterwords. The angle it was filmed from also is where the mixing console was. I’m gonna assume the guy who uploaded this either works at the venue or knows someone who does. The live mix was much much messier
chondro is ten times better with matt, nothing against the great sax work in the album that heavy fuzz that is matt's doing is fundamental to black midi imo
Great record but I think their live performance needs to be reigned in a bit. Seems like a lot of pointless and boring noodling between the actual songs.
Improviziation along with the fact they likely need to make sure their sound and even timing is correct for the next song. Lol I couldn't imagine anyone playing one of these songs, let alone two immediately after one another and sounding good.
really crazy that these songs of cavalcade already had their basis a 1-2 years before the record released

sounded dope when he was using it the other night when i saw them. he played the bass part for ducter on synth

matt is slowly turning into some kind of demon
William Scerbo matt is slowly turning into Jonny Greenwood
