After playing his route on EB I always wondered how would their life be with the Kazama clan and is so cute to see how they refer to each other as both wife and husband or how both talk about their children (is funny to imagine how Chikage and their children tease Chizuru haha) and that pic is so perfect, the way they kiss and see each other put a smile on my face. Kazama has always been my least favorite love interest because his original route in Demon of the Fleeting Blossom always felt a lot shorter and a bit shallow compared to the others. Back then, I couldn't fully grasp why he and Chizuru would end up together even though I acknowledge that he helped her a lot by granting her wish to witness the shinsengumi's fate to the end. I also used think that Kazama and Chizuru didn't have any chemistry, but now I'm seeing him in a whole new light after watching these videos. His banter with Chizuru is so amusing, the way he planned his future with her from the start cracks me up lmao He's so annoying and kinda cute at the same time, I really enjoy his relationship with Chizuru now. I haven't played his route in KW and EB yet, but now I'm really excited to play for the extra scenes! Thank you so much for taking the time to translate these routes ♡
I agree that Kazama’s original route felt like a bonus and very rushed. I wasn’t really into it. Shinkai (KW/EB) has some defaults but at least, the Kazama route has been rewritten and is really giving him the route he deserves. The fandisk was great for him! I’m glad. Also I love Chizuru in his route and love how supportive he is of her. He tells her she’s different but that isn’t a problem or something to be ashamed of, he pushes her to love herself, love all of herself and I think Chizuru’s growth in this route is great.

I love Kazama's route, but im sad because Kazama and Chizuru's kiss CGs are not good enough or intimate enough, in my opinion. Like in their kiss CGs, they don't look physically connected enough. This kiss CG here is much better than the two kiss CG in hakuouki edo blossoms. But i am still sad that they still don't look physically intimate enough.
Not physically intimate enough? For Japanese romance standards it's super intimate, and especially for the time period too. Only couples who were engaged or married could kiss or even hold hands in public, for couples that weren't it was highly inappropriate. And it wasn't any different in the West at the time either. Heck, if you were caught being intimate with a man who wasn't your intended it'd be a huge scandal. Your entire family could be shunned from society. It was a very conservative time; Japan still is when it comes to PDA. In fact, a lot of Japanese visitors are very shocked by the amount of PDA in the West.
