- Here is a clip of Paul Mason and Evan Lefebvre paddling down the rapids (Portes de l'Enfer) on the Rivière de la Petite Nation during one of Paul's tandem courses with Jeff Thuot and Pierre Desjardins. The model of canoe is an Esquif Vertige X with our outfitting.

So, Evan could just stay on a stern draw instead of doing a sweep at 3:13 (basically the whole time crossing the current), let the bow paddler supply the forward speed. I think that's why I was saying "fight" the current's tendency to push bow downstream. Still he was able to keep the bow on a better line past the wave than I usually manage. Nice.
