Hey friends, here are a few moments from our December that we wanted to share with you, starting from a lazy Sunday and a bit of shopping in Amsterdam to a train ride to Switzerland, sledding on the Rigi and christmas in Italy.

Sledding, huh? I've never gone sledding but I have gone snowmobiling. Where I live, Delaware, it barely snows in the winter now. There were years when we got good snows, up to a meter or so some years. But the past few winters have been pretty mild. In 2015, when The Force Awakens came out, it was in the 30s out ON CHRISTMAS. Last week, we got a high in the mid to upper teens. When we get as little as 25 mm of snow, the whole state shuts down and uses up all its road salt. I've had Russians, Belarusians, Ukrainians, and a Latvian I worked with all laugh at us for closing the schools for so little snow. We can have snow one day and two days later, it'll be warm enough to break out the shorts and flip-flops. And while we do go sledding when it snows out, we have to tow the sleds behind ATVs or trucks because we don't have hills or mountains here. If we want to see mountains, we have to go up to Pennsylvania or Upstate New York. I've visited that neck of the woods but the mountains are more hilly, nothing like the Alps. Much older mountains, older than land animals.
