When you were talking about the question of whether you are born innocent or you end with innocence, it got me thinking. My dad always said that when you die, you go back to the place you came from before you were born. It used to scare me as a kid because I didn't understand. But I think when you're born and when you die, you are the purest version of yourself, and that the space in between those times is when you just go with the flow and experience things. Walking on Air is personally one of my most favorite songs by Kerli and I think that is because that was apart of her true self. That whole album Love is Dead came from her pain and breaking threw it. After that I felt like she was being told what to do by her label and that is where her image changed. I can respect your thoughts on nature. I love nature as well. I grew up in the countryside and will never be able to forget how precious nature is to me, no matter where I go. I have lived in the city now for 8 years and I completely understand the disconnect. Me and my fiancé take a drive to the national park almost everyday and spend some time there before I go to work. I work midnight to 8 am lol. But I think because I grew up in the countryside, and roamed the forests around my house throughout my childhood, that I have a different perspective about collecting things found in nature. I feel like mother nature wants me to collect things, to keep little things because I love her so much and want to remember her. As mothers so unselfishly provide for their children, not only sustenance ( crops and herbs, etc.) but little things that provide quality of life as well (flowers, stones, etc.). And I have been keeping and collecting little things such as unique rocks, pressed flowers, snail shells, etc. since I was a child. I felt like she was giving them to me, because she loved me and wanted me to have something to remember her by. So even now when I see something that is so me, just lying where I happen to be walking, or whatever, I feel like she is trying to tell me she loves me and is giving me something she knows I will love and cherish. My offering is my respect, my love, and my gratitude. I usually say a little something to express how beautiful my gift is, and how thankful I am, and how much I love her. And I leave with a sense of peace that I didn't feel when I arrived. Maybe that is just me, but I feel whenever we keep little things, we are actually taking a piece of our mother with us. And when we keep something she has offered in love and reverence, she is more than happy to fill us with her love and remind us through this little gift, of how much she loves us. She made us, and wants to remember how much she loves us, and in return be loved by us. So I don't feel any wrong doing when I keep little things because I'm not strip mining and using her up. I love her, and I want to remember all the beauty she possesses, even the little things mean so much to me :) I hope maybe my perspective will help you feel more open to receiving our mother's gifts :)

To be honest, I love kerli and her creative fantasy themed music. It's a beautiful art. Very different from the main stream pop culture america seems to always have. I love all the electro music featuring kerli in it too! The lyrics are always real, like heartfelt, it's not about shaking your booty or love songs like taylor swift. Yawn. I find it hard to believe in myself and connect with nature because of some mental barriers I have and it recently has gotten worse and man I wish I was in the spot you are in right now. Wow awesome Kerli !! I'm planning to become independent as well as much as possible. I'm living in Finland ATM , moving to Australia in the near future . There I can grow my own food ( fruits and herbs ) .. there is also a way to produce your own electricity and water .. I have to look more into it but wow it's awesome to hear from a famous person to make a decision to be not a part of the system .. I'm very happy actually to hear it :D I'm Estonian .. just moved to Finland about 3 years ago .. the nature is very beautiful here as well .. lots of mountains and lakes , my dream has always been to live in somewhere tropics ( Australia ) because it suits my lifestyle . I remember thinking oh she's turning into all those other pop stars. I thought, she's over depression and now she's happy and is coming out with these songs that are like so ordinary. This helped me feel better. I'm struggling with kindness and not causing unnecessary harm to people. I tend to raise my voice or just be rude to people. My family is so fed up that when I went to apologize to my mother for being rude to her my dad snapped and yelled at me saying "You shouldn't have to apologize, you just shouldn't be rude!" When you said "it all comes down to self love" I wondered just how much I love myself. I may be vain, in love with how I look, but I really don't think I care that deeply about my own soul. I don't think I truly love who I am and I think that causes me to not care about others. I lash out at people because I don't know how to love myself, let alone my family. To be honest, I love kerli and her creative fantasy themed music. It's a beautiful art. Very different from the main stream pop culture america seems to always have. I love all the electro music featuring kerli in it too! The lyrics are always real, like heartfelt, it's not about shaking your booty or love songs like taylor swift. Yawn.

I stay connected by having a mini garden. Get glass bottles and germinate seeds and put them around windows, when they get bigger plant them outside and just give them back. It wont replace the feeling but i feel like the plants give me a goal to get back to nature.

Wow awesome Kerli !! I'm planning to become independent as well as much as possible. I'm living in Finland ATM , moving to Australia in the near future . There I can grow my own food ( fruits and herbs ) .. there is also a way to produce your own electricity and water .. I have to look more into it but wow it's awesome to hear from a famous person to make a decision to be not a part of the system .. I'm very happy actually to hear it :D
I'm Estonian .. just moved to Finland about 3 years ago .. the nature is very beautiful here as well .. lots of mountains and lakes , my dream has always been to live in somewhere tropics ( Australia ) because it suits my lifestyle . I'm definitely going to miss that forest that we have in Estonia , Finland, Sweden etc. the birch trees where we can get chaga and pine trees where we can get pine pollen and pine needles ugh .. going to miss that and also the Wicca style that we have :(

Kerli, I think you do all of that and more already, so don't change a thing. Never give up and never back down, because what you do is amazing. All I can think about when I watch your videos and listen to your songs is: "Oh, so that's what creativity looks/sounds like". Not to say that other artists can't be just as creative in their own way, but your particular style is very pretty and unique so it stands out. I remember when I first heard and saw the video for Walking on Air. Bulletproof has so much meaning. The sadness has all this beauty. Then I heard Lucky Ones and Zero Gravity. It was so different. I remember thinking oh she's turning into all those other pop stars. I thought, she's over depression and now she's happy and is coming out with these songs that are like so ordinary. I was disappointed. I'm quite pleased she got off the mainstream music train.

Yes, it's a challenge to stay connected within the city, yet you can ALWAYS connect no matter where you are because the forest is within you and you are within the forest always. We separate when we forget and doubt. It might take some practice but it can be done, first by believe, next imagine, feel it, close your eyes and know it. If you can play nature sounds. This helped me feel better. I'm struggling with kindness and not causing unnecessary harm to people. I tend to raise my voice or just be rude to people. My family is so fed up that when I went to apologize to my mother for being rude to her my dad snapped and yelled at me saying "You shouldn't have to apologize, you just shouldn't be rude!"
When you said "it all comes down to self love" I wondered just how much I love myself. I may be vain, in love with how I look, but I really don't think I care that deeply about my own soul. I don't think I truly love who I am and I think that causes me to not care about others. I lash out at people because I don't know how to love myself, let alone my family. You really put this all into perspective and I'm going to strive to love myself more so that in turn I can be a loving person to the people around me.
