I'm currently making some 8' cabinets that were all ending up out of square. I was having the hardest time figuring out how to square them out because of the size. Your idea to hammer in a cross piece saved the day! The frames are square and ready for doors!
Existing amouire cabinet. Side bowed outward at bottom shelf. Doors don't close evenly. If you fit doors together b4 closing completely, they close even. Suggested I place bracket along bottom shelf/sidewall in all 4 corners to pull them in. True?
Super video Chad. I’ve seen all the methods for squaring up a cabinet except your last one. It’s one that I’m sure will come in handy some day. I just got your newsletter this morning and haven’t had time to go through it yet but it looked very interesting. The videos you mentioned at the end that are upcoming sound interesting. I’m looking forward to watching them. I hope you and your family are doing well. All is fine here. I’m finishing up a cart for my lathe and grinder. While I’ve made a lot of projects over the years this is my first plywood cabinet with drawers and I’m learning a lot. Your videos and encouragement have been very helpful. Thanks. Don
Thanks for showing us that pro's like you have problems to.That is why i do not do custom work and am's sure you have had a lot bigger problems than this before nice video.
lf you make all your cuts to SIZE and all the cuts are square across the WIDTH and THICKNES your parts will NOT rack during assembly----using a clamp to pull something into square is not the solution, start right--use a known square during assembly.
I'm really glad that you posted this. I'm in the middle of building some simple storage cabinets and, while they're not as large as the cabinet you've built, they are good sized. the "pinch" stick method you showed will really come in handy when I go to assemble them. Thanks.
@@ChadStanton I had my computer on 100 and the youtube volume on 100 and could barely hear you... I didn't know what was up but I wasn't going to comment on it till I saw this comment... Thanks Mr. Chad!!!
All great tips, Chad. I especially like the last one which you actually used. It made me wonder if I could cut pointed blocks and use a clamp in expansion mode. Take care. I'm still dancing but that's something you definitely don't want to see. Bill
Hmm. I bought a cheap quick grip type clamp. Pretty useful - better than I expected. Better than my bent rusty old f clamp. The jaws in the clamp can be reversed, so I'm thinking it would be good for squaring up a cabinet. Tape measure in one hand, the other to operate the clamp. I'm building some cabinets for my workshop. Can't use my tools until I get a space to store them out of the way :-) wound up nailing a batten diagonally across the back. Though I'll deny I ever said that.
Read the blog about the build. I can relate to making mistakes and spending more time than estimated on a job. Most of us can. It makes you feel really stupid when you have to tell the customer that their project is going to be delayed because of stupid little mistakes. You kind of wonder if you have lost credibility with them. As with your client, if you are honest with them, most people are understanding and will extend some grace. Thanks for your transparency.
Hey Chad, would it be possible to do a video of the bookshelves in this video you used as an example of racking? I’m about to build bookshelves almost just like them and would see what you went thru Thanks chad!!
Chad Stanton a man, no worries Chad!! You probly know how many ideas I got for it by using the two sections as examples and I think I can make it come out wonderful!! Thank you chad!!!

You make a good point but wood doesn’t always cooperate. But thank you for your comment
Dude you need to back off the tool videos. I’m spending way too much at Woodcraft. 🤣

Awesome, i'm glad that tip worked. I wasn't sure myself what to do in that moment, and then that idea came to me.
Very informative.Thank you sir
Thank you!💜
Thanks Chad, always good to see another video from the man!!!
I hope you can increase your voice volume
That's interesting. I'll have to look into that because the editing program actually shows my volume slightly above average

I'm going to try this because I do not want to have to buy a piece of wood only to square the cabinet carcass I just made. Thank you for the idea.
On cabinets too large for a clamp i have used a small ratchet strap.
Ah yes. Great tip!
love to see the large square uses.

Hey Doug, thanks for taking the time to read it. It is embarrassing to make such simple mistakes. But I'm glad to know I'm not alone. :-)
Hey Wood Chopper, how about if you make one of your shop walls a BIG fixture. Have a heavy duty and plumb beam to start with a solid guide?
Good idea! But that would require having a clean shop :-)
@@ChadStanton only one wall HAHAHHAHAHA

It’s a rombus
I went to a surgeon and had my rhombus removed.
Parallelogram really.
