The ad libs and high notes at the end were done by JK. His hands and the mic covered most of his face, though, so it's kind of hard to tell just looking at it. JK does most of the ad libs in their songs, especially their older music. Part of why he's the main singer. They got the rights to the song and were able to put it on their album PROOF, but it's a slightly different version. They sang this song 3 years after their debut, 5 years after their debut, and 9 years after their debut. It hits slightly different each time, to me.
Thanks for clearing that up, I was doubting myself there for a sec when he said it was Jin, just listening to it I thought it was JK and I got really confused when he said it was Jin (well, Jimin and then Jin) hahah But honestly, they really make it hard for us, sometimes to know who sings what - especially JK I feel can basically sound like any of them when he wants to hahaha
@@paci79 Yeah, he really can. It's great for when he has to cover someone's part but not so good for us ARMYs trying to figure out who is singing which part.
Im actually surprised you've only just seen/heard it at this point of you listening to bts. Glad you got to it eventually, this song holds a special place for both bts and army but especially to the members.
The first time I heard this I cried. The raw emotion from the rappers is just overwhelming. Mic Drop made me ARMY but this song made me give them my heart.
Bts did release their version officially in the anthology album proof as the first song. I was so happy that they cleared the copyright and was able to include it😊. They also sang it recently for proof live with some changes to the lyrics. Pls do check it out when you can.
The anger you mentioned... I used to recognise Yoongi's voice with this emotion too. The anger in his voice was so evident, and it always accompanied pain. It wasn't simply the fire kind of anger, but always anger that comes from disappointment. He used to be so raw about his feelings ❤
Born Singer has been one of my favorites from the very beginning, and now hearing it again with you, after you have been introduced to a lot of their songs, it occurred to me how ahead of time they were. They have always made quality music ❤ Btw do you know which song complements Born Singer? It's "MOVING ON" or "Move" ... You will like this one too. And there's SEA too ~ Thankyou for reacting to BTS 💜
We change how we project our feelings as we age , but we never change those feelings, how they still take residence inside of our hearts & souls . It is just we learn to harness that burning fire & anger inside of our bellies & channel it in more creatively diverse & different ways.
Born singet unfortunately didn’t make it to them early albums because a copyright problem, but finally made it to them 10 years recopilatory album Proof. I was so sad Daeng is the other great song that didn't make it to a album. I hope they will include it in the 20th year anyversary 😅. I need that song in tge right place.
It was actually JK who sang the high notes and ad lib at the end. I think there was a lot of anger in Suga's early years due to the unprovoked, unjustifiable hates and prejudice towards him or the group. I'm so happy to see Suga has been doing great to cope with the endless hates and prejudice towards BTS.
I tear up every time RMs part comes up😢 I really feel his emotions!! His words just get me all the time!!! This song is my favorite all time song… my emotion gets me all the time!
There are 3 live versions of this, and they're all a bit different - this one is still raw, the one 5 years in is more certain, and the one from Proof is reflective. It's beautiful and it cuts deep - the early version especially is full of desperation and dedication, anger and hope. I think of Born Singer when I tell people BTS members just really, really love music. I knew you'd love it.
This is one of my favorite BTS songs. I was really happy when they released it on Spotify aling with PROOF. Their performance every time they sing this song is so raw, and their emotions are on point. Love it.😊
I really miss those who are now in the army. My bias Yoongi and I are still not okay sometimes.I watched the last episode of Suchwita and cried, because they were discussing the song, dear my friend, and the final concert. But now I didn't cry, it's a good song.Jimin's voice is amazing and so is Jin (goosebumps).Everything is great, thanks for the reaction 💜
Such a great song !! You need to watch the whole Proof LIVE … they sang this song again , some lyrics changed but it’s also as beautiful! This is included in their last album Proof finally !!! Thanks for your sincere reaction !
Thank you for your reaction Bryan. I love the way you always mention your bias for Hobi, its clear you are Army. Ive been rewatching a lot of OT7 content because i miss seeing them together. Im currently watching Bon Voyage 4 in New Zealand. There is just something extraordinary that happens when they are all together, whether its on or off stage, Its heart warming 💜
They DID get permission to put it on their anthology album "Proof" and it's the very 1st song on Disc 1 of 3. They also performed it again in their Yet to Come live -where they are all sitting on chairs in the desert somewhere in the US. RM changed his lyrics a bit to update them, but Suga left his with the 3-year reference.
I like that version a lot - they've grown in so many ways, and it shows in the arrangement and delivery. But the rawness of the early years is so true to the song. It's one of the best things to see how they've grown and changed, I think. But like Suga says, they're still the same, too. Still born singers. He's doing his service now, but I bet he's writing lyrics in his notebook at night. 💜
Because Jimin is normally the one that sings in higher register he is the first member that people assume is singing the notes, where in fact all members can hit them notes.
Hi, I am back. Good reaction, ty. They updated this song for the Proof album. It was written after their 100 days as BTS. I cried on 1st listen. Just stunning and so much feels. Wow. I am glad u felt them. =0] Their past selves singing it to each other. Their present selves singing it to us. This is their version of Born Sinner by J Cole, they sample the beat. Despite the title, it is like 80% rapping. No music vid sadly. They sang the updated version in Proof Live which is on YT. Hope u react to that version too. So good. I watched J Cole's MV the minute i learned they sampled it. But they really made this their own song. Hugs. -NY USA 2019 Army💟 Kashalia 26 said on 6/17/22 For added context. They released this song less than a month after their first debut showcase, which was the live performance of No More Dream. The lyrics refer to their 3 years of training before debut, but those lyrics remain relevant years after their debut, which was their 2nd performance of this song in 2017. Its telling that they included this song as their first track in Proof. They want to hang on to that feeling they had when they debuted and to remind themselves how important it was for them. I love that they're facing each other because it's such a personal song about their shared dream. It just hits hard so much.
My fav part is Namjoon's. I love this song and it's so well put together...all the voices and the passion.😊
It's hard to pick between Namjoon's or Yoongi's verse for me.

It was Jungkook, not Jimin.
