+Carl Killough Children are born curious, natural scientists. Until they're indoctrinated by mom, dad, the Religious Right or the Taliban. Then the curiosity dies when they're told they can find all their answers in a book.

Like this video so much that I've written the half of video talks!! :)
"When I think of science I think of a truly human activity. Something fundamental to a DNA. Something that drives curiosity. When you're kid you born as a scientist. What is a scientist do? We look at it and say i want to know what it is?? let me go find out out..let me poke it..let me turn it around. These are what kids do! kids that can barely walk, what are they do? they turning over a rock, they plucking petals of a rose, they exploring their environment through experimentation. That's what we do as human beings. So what we do?? We prevent that. We prevent this depths of curiosity from reveling themselves even with our own residences. You know we spend years to teaching our kids walk and talk and rest of the life telling them shut up and sit down. What kind of environment is that!! The goal here is not to make everybody a scientist. That's not the goal. What a boring world that would be! You want artists. You want musicians, you want novelists, poets. You want the rest of this. What matters is that whether they are scientifically literate? and maintain that literacy and curiosity throughout their lives. No matter what becomes their profession"

Jesus (hahaha) this was good. What he said about curiosity is plain ether. What a damn shame our society is led by the least among us.
How we make people assimilate is tragic. One must assimilate to religion and/or society even if the arguments for such assimilation are flimsy. Most people don't even get a chance in their lifetimes to ever fully question the basic propositions both social mandates infer.

I think that the scientific community desperately needs to look into altered states of consciousness and test the validity of potentially other realms/realities. I also think that they should try to answer the question "What is consciousness?" instead of dogmatically dismissing it because it isn't a component of the materialistic perspective. Science is all about testing, measuring, and verifying so all the data collected on the topics I bring up can only help science, not hurt it.

Its like if you want to be cool and have lots of friends you have to go down on their level and act like ignorant toward everything except sports and love problems.. Its like when you say something smart prople look at you like a weirdo or laugh smh. thats just sad

Hello Max. I'm an editor of Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press (FLTRP) in China. Macmillan Publishers and us are preparing to publish a college English textbook series. On behalf of FLTRP, I would like to apply for permission to include the video in our textbook, which will be used as the learning material and be discussed through questions. I would be grateful if you could consider this request. Could you tell me your email account? Thanks in advance!
