I bought mine 4 months ago (1000 miles done) to get back on 2 wheels. Did my CBT on the same bike and fell in love with it. I highly recommend people (who are looking for either their 1st bike or to get back on two wheels as a starter bike) to seriously consider this one.
Thanks for your review; really useful. I've ordered mine to replace a 500. I started motorcycling with a Honda SS125 over fifty years ago. It was actually much quicker than the CB125F! Finally, I've concluded that I just prefer light small bikes; must be getting old!
I've been looking for the perfect bike - I'm not interested in going fast, I'm an older rider, I want the simplicity of air cooling, I want bright lights for safety, I want good economy, all at a good price. This could very well be the bike for me.
Quite an improvement from the previous model especially in the engine department and of course the new dashboard. Honda has done a brilliant job once again 🙂
The dash is the only thing that would possibly keep me from buying this bike (though I will anyway when I can). There's no need for that digital crap, couple of nice analogue dials would be perfect still. Like the difference between a rubber Casio digital watch for £10 vs a nice plain Citizen quartz plain face watch with leather straps for £50. No comparison, digital is just ugly and unnecessary. Everything else here looks amazing though, even the eco light is a nice idea. The fuel mileage is out of this world, and I used to ride a CG125... Amazing.
@@Sandcat87 it's funny how we have such different opinions of this. I would much prefer digital to analog and would even pay quite a bit more for the digital only display
@@joakimdam9723 For what possible reason? It's made of plastic instead of glass, looks ugly as hell, is harder to read because you have to process reading numbers, not just seeing the position of a red line, etc.?
I like both to be fair, it wouldn’t be a deciding factor. Digital does have the advantage of miles until empty. That is one of the most underrated pros.
Thank you so much for this video, it really really helped me. I was about to buy a 2017 model with 2000 miles on but having seen this I decided I’m better off with a new bike and in white also as I think the white is stunning. I’m in my 50s with a full license to ride any bike, but at this time I need something light and simple but I feel the need for a proper bike with gears and clutch rather than a scooter style, even though I appreciate that the PCX is also very good. I was not sure about the digital dash, but it seems very nicely done and I’m sure I’ll get used to it. The lack of high top speed is unlikely to be much of an issue, the ability to keep up with traffic on B roads is far more important. Thanks again, it’s the best and most informative video I’ve found.
I love your vids there is no crapy music and loads of exact information well done. You don’t miss any of the super details as well as the few but expected negatives because of the nature of the bike. Again very well done.
Bought my Brilliant CBF125 2yrs ago l do a 20mile round commute to work everyday & love riding it,will be putting in for my test soon but will keep this as a commute bike I fill up the tank once a month about £10-£12! I hardly use the car & Yes I do ride it in the rain too as it’s quicker to get to work! I like the digital load out on the new 125 especially the clock as my eyesight ain’t as great as it used to be the digital speedo is great wish I had that on mine! Am 63yrs young & love riding the bike more then driving the car! Traffic jams don’t exist anymore Great Review!
I’ve passed my full bike test now and pick up my CB500F in a week! I just watched this for reminiscence as I had a 125F and I also bought mine from CJ Ball! Fantastic company! Great video 😊
mate I'm an older guy (53) and for some reason just been wanting to ride again. I think I might get one of these as a way back into riding. Starting again from scratch. Thanks for the video
That's a lovely little bike Nick. I bet your wife's chuffed to bits with it. I agree if you're able to save up and go for the Honda, rather than cheaper Chinese bikes you can't go wrong.
Nice review. I bought one of these some years ago for my son. 2011 model in white as it happens. Good road presence and so quiet. I am quite perky but still managed 140mpg at a steady 40 mph.and now they have improved it more than once. I believe the tank is now slightly smaller from 13litres to 11litres. But with all the improvements it actually has a higher range apparently. With rising fuel costs I may seriously consider one of these latest incarnations. Thank you for your informative review. May you and your good lady ride safe and enjoy this unique way of life. Respect!
It's definitely worthy of consideration. Apparently, in the next few years, all major towns and cities are likely to have a congestion charge, but currently, motorcycles are exempt from the charge. When Labour comes into power, it looks increasingly likely.
How tall are you and does it fit you? I am 191cm (6'2-6'3), I have read about it being good for tall bikers but I don't have a dealership near me and want to know if it may fit.
Absolutely in love with mine, got about 530 miles on it so far. I used to ride a Suzuki fm50 that I spraypainted black. a little 50cc chicken chaser from 1983 that old men ride to coffee shops in Cyprus. The difference is insane. The centre stand and kickstand have already started rusting bad though, make sure you buy a rust guard for it before it starts, I think I was too late.
I agree with your opinion. Very economy and power more than i need. I bought this bike same colour white 6 to 7 mounths ago and ive ridden this bike everyday to work over 2281 miles now. Im 5.7 ft tall, 75 kg weight, around 2 miles on dual carriageway take me top speed 65 miles. im sure this bike could go even faster if i stay on top speed abit longer. Ive got CBT and this is my first bike i started to learn. I found it very comfortable to ride now and is perfect for me as new rider. only consider thin tyre when its rainging and yeah when its too windy. I guess this weather condition would be consider with any 2 weels rider. I like LED light which is on all the time which is very good in winter it get dark soon. First service after 600 miles and after very 2500 miles.
@@nicksepisode indeed. I had my first electric car 10 years ago, I love them. Not so convinced about electric bikes, but I use motorbikes as touring/day trip vehicles and I see electrification of two wheelers as useful for short range commuting only currently.
Sold my 1800 gold wing and bought this for town commutes.. great fun and surprisingly very economic… get lots of people staring as I am 6 ft 7 in tall… I smile on every ride laughing all the time.. .😂😂😂. My only criticism is the mirrors are inadequate and should be wider to give you more idea what’s behind you…
My first bike was the Keeway 125 too heavy for the engine and kept cutting out when idling. I've now purchased this cb125f in that pearl white colour as I felt way more confident on it when doing the manouvers in my CBT.
I have just bought this bike this video was like icing on the cake whilst I was eyeing up the bike 😂 This is going to be my second bike. I had a 12 plate Honda cbf125 and it was rubbish. I felt uncomfortable riding it, hearing you talking about this bike in confidence was a deal breaker, so this bike seems perfect for me! Thank you for this video 😊
A nice bike indeed. I'm thinking of getting a 125cc motorbike. I know this is very different from the Super Cub 125. But I absolutely love the look of the Cub! Something to think about for me is the larger fuel tank on the CB125f as well as having an extra 5th. Gear. I'm actually torn by the choice, not easy. Also the fact that it's actually cheaper than the Cub is something to think about... Great through review! Thx for your work on this video 👍
Thanks for this, wonderfully in depth and full of useful info. A work colleague of mine has a Honda PCX scooter and we got talking about commuting costs, he gets 140mpg on E5 super. I reckon this bike on finance would cost me less to buy than what I'm currently spending on diesel for my Focus. Going to local dealer tomorrow to make inquiries! Passed my full bike test years ago on a Honda CG125 but never got around to actually owning something. Been wanting a bike since I passed but could never quite justify the cost given I already had a car. This bike not only makes financial sense but finally validates my decision all those years ago to get through my test before it became harder and more complicated. Will book a quick refresher course with a motorcycle school once I've put the order in. :)
Not only will you save money, you'll have more enjoyment and have the freedom to filter through traffic! good luck and all the best, thanks for your comment.
@@nicksepisode Thanks. Spoke to dealer, only had a single bike in the showroom that wasn't sold! Think it was an Africa Twin or something. Need to get some things sorted out first before I go back and order. Been looking at bike security today and it seems most chains 10mm-12mm are too heavy to put inside a top box while riding. Would they fit under the seat without falling through? It's hard to tell from the video.
Thank you for the review. I am 16 at the moment and I live about an hour away from my school, which is in the city and I was looking for a good 125cc bike that could get me there). I live in Romania so there weren't many choices for me. A friend of mine got a Yamaha R125, but I don't really like to have the shifter in the position sports bikes have it, and I don't enjoy the sporty riding posture required, so I was looking for omething more comfortable, similar to a cruiser. I found this bike but I wasn't sure if I wanted to get it but you sold it to me. I got my provisional right when I turned 16 and rode it for about 3 months, and I am starting to ride it again, since the weather is improving.
Thanks young man for that splendid review - the economy on that little bike is phenomenal - they are prone to corrosion however - suggest that you immediately coat it with acf50 or something similar
OMG! - Really? Whats the permanent surplus capacity of the generator during summer? My dealer warned about overheating it, suggesting I shouldn't charge more than a phone. But I ' d love to add a 12V 20Ah ( ballpark) Lithium battery, to power amateur radio and stuff on vacations.
@@jochenschrey2909 I guess a little less than 350 Watts. Its all LED and the ignition won‘t eat much. „I am no expert“ but I reason the charging system is rated at 380 Watts because its Dynastart and I imagine 380 Watts would be fine for starting the engine. Jacket 60 Watts, Gloves less than 20 Watts because it would fry your hands. There are Trousers and Socks, so times two (normally I don‘t need them) and if you find someone who loves you so much that she wants to accompany you on a cold ride that would be times four (300 Watts but unrealistic because she wants a car @ 3 degrees Celsius). Funny if you ride to the biker meeting point in winter, coffee cold in 2 Minutes and you have to go riding your bike to warm up (no kidding). I plug in when the engine is running. I love Antigrafity 120 Wh Lithium battery, still very small and fits everywhere. Can start a really very big stroker big bore Hog and illegal to ship in EU because it is over 100 Wh unless you employ special security personnel. (Just don‘t tell the European Commission, they are idiots anyway). I am doing fine with the stock battery. A point of criticism was the hard seat and you can use an air seat which triples your comfortable riding time. There is a good youtube video out there by Man Cave Moto. What got hot here was the engine in hottest weather conditions at Autobahn (read: Truck) speeds. It started to ping, just listen to the little mill. Only a problem over 30 degrees Celsius.
Bought one of these in 2011 as my first new bike (previously had 4 used ones) and loved it. My only issue with it was its comically thin rear wheel/tyre. A while later I got an rc125 and to be honest, aside from looks, not much between them. Id recommend this bike to anyone young or old.
Thank you for the review, first time on your channel, was looking at Honda motorbike 125cc reviews as I'm going to be doing my CBT soon. definitely going to be getting this one 100% from CJ Balls in Norwich, UK
Hi bud. I'm getting one same year on Tuesday. I'm 55 a trucker last road my Yamaha fsie at 16 and my yb100 at 17. It's still in my blood lol. I absolutely love this simple bike not a bad word from any reviews I've researched. Your video was brill.

This bike is sold in India as the SP125 and same platform is used for the Shine, another best selling bike in India. I always thought the European model had dual channel ABS and better quality switchgear.
Luckily dual channel ABS is only mandatory above 125ccm in Europe. No intention to bash life saving technology, but my tire dealer charges 10€ extra for handling ABS wheels. No clue about switch gear. On my 11 year old Innova the plastic holding switches on the left side broke last week. The switches themself are still fine. I guess I 'll have to mess with fiber glass.
11:05 so glad you did that. I thought the side stand cut off switch was broken on my 2018 version I have had 5 full days now. Yesterday it flown through M.O.T.
I got given one of these on hire after having an accident, I love it so much im thinking im going to buy it so thought I would come and see if there were any reviews about it, only to see a guy riding in my home town. Thanks for a great review I will have to keep an eye out for you when im on mine Ive got a Black one :)
Another great video Nick 👌🏽 my CB125F came on the 24th I went to the Honda dealer in Chester to pick it up. It’s such an amazing bike. Covered 250 miles within 4 days so it’s safe to say I’m in love😂 I managed to get 72 on it yesterday on the dual carriageway so it’s a pretty fast machine for a 125 commuter 😁
@@nicksepisode well… it says 72 on the dash but you know how these companies are, love to exaggerate the speed a bit 😂. One thing I’ve noticed about the bike is that the seat is very uncomfortable for long rides but that’s honestly the only complaint I have. Solid bike I love it. Is your wife happy with the bike now that she’s covered a few hundred miles?
I’ve had a new YBR and a CBF both would do 50mph with ease so even given it’s running in that seems a fair drop in performance. Personally I’d rather have a little more top end and ‘only’ 135mpg. There’s also *a lot* of cost cutting since the previous version. Pillion pegs, seat cover and even the riders pegs are fixed not folding. The lack of a tachometer is disappointing too. Whilst we wait to see how this new engines lasts over a few miles I think the last of the previous model is the better bike currently.
Getting into riding after 15 years of putting it off. Was looking at getting a used one of these but may just get new on pcp, use for a year or so as a learner bike. Good review 👍
Great review, thank you just bought same bike am picking up next week, agree with all you said its the quality rider experience that you pay a little more for
Thanks for the great review it's changed my mind on a new runabout. I normally ride a ZX12R but I need a small bike for whizzing into town on. I did think of a DAX 125 but I think it's a bit of a gimmick to be honest and it's more expensive than this bike, so in my opinion this makes more sense. Thanks a lot.
Great rewiew. I have the same bike since 2 weeks (230 miles). I'm in France, I'm French and my English is ... what it is. The mirrors could have been better. They are pretty. The right mirror is more outside than the left one (the right one is fixed on the break lever). That's more annoying in France than in the U-K :-) My bike is the metric version (km, l/100 km). I have the average consumption for trip A and B (it seems you don't have it for trip B). I also have the range. This difference is strange. My bike is made in Italy too. I also adjusted the gear lever, one notch. Nothing else (until now). Since 2021, in France we have a 5 years warranty (2 by Honda International, 3 by Honda France). Perhaps Honda U-K will do this too if it works well in France. I am impress by the low consumption achieve by you wife ! I average around 175 mpg (1,6 l/100km), mostly in town. It will be a little more after the break-in. The rear suspension travel is a little too short. It could be harsh for the back on some bumps. I found the eco light quite useless. At some speed I can have this light on in 3rd, 4th and 5th... It a pleasant bike in town and around the town, very economical. Enjoy and stay safe.
Thank you for the informative comment! I'm impressed that France Honda give additional warranty, it would be nice if Honda UK followed, considering some of our Chinese manufactures offer longer warranty. As a package the bike is fantastic and my wife is loving it, I appreciate you watching and ill catch you on the next one, ride safe
Great review. It's a good little bike but Honda would increase their sales of it by offering hand guards, a screen and a top box included. If they did this I would maybe ditch my scooter in the CB125's favour.
I'm learning on one of these (had a lesson yesterday, CBT next week) and will end up buying one. Purely by accident I appear to have picked THE best bike for my circumstances 😁
Great in-depth review! Really quiet start up sound on this bike! I was genuinely surprised when you lifted the seat, not by the tool kit, but by that “made in Italy” sticker! I was genuinely under the impression that the CB125F was only made in China at the Wuyang Honda factory! I would be really interested what the VIN plate says, a VIN number starting with L means it was made in China, a VIN starting with ZA through ZR is made in Italy. I know Honda has a number of factories world wide that make the same models, so perhaps the European version is now built in some Italian factory! Interesting as many Piaggio and Aprilia 125’s are built in Chinese factories.
Thanks for the comment, I loose track where bikes are made these days ! I'll have a look at the vin later as I'm curious now lol. Nevertheless still a well built bike. Appreciate you watching. Ride safe
Hi thanks for this fantastic review. I’ve found your channel today after I put down a deposit on used 2021 CB125F from CJ Ball that they only got in a couple days ago that I found by chance, after visiting today, not even prepped it yet but I have to wait as my CBT isn’t til next Wednesday. I was looking at Yamaha XSR 125 but this is far more comfortable. 125’s are in high demand at the moment, sell as quick as they go on sale so i had to jump on it and get secured. Will be watching all you vids now. Cheers. I’m from Norwich Btw 👍
Welcome to the channel bud, we was in cj ball today, I noticed 3 sold cb125f soon as we walked in the show room, 2 white and one red one. Selling like hot cakes these! Good luck with cbt and enjoy your new bike! Ride safe
I used to ride RV125s (Van Van) and they are the only 125s I'd ever ride. The CB125F is clearly a good bike but the aesthetics don't do it for me. The thin rear wheel kind of puts me off. Good review though, and I can understand why they are so popular.
Did a test ride on one when my PCX was on service - absolutely lovely! Only criticism is that it is a bit geared to low. You could easily pull away in 2nd gear without big clutch slipping… One or two teeth more on the front sprocket would save this… Owning a Harley Sportster together with my PCX 125 I‘m tempted to buy one add some paniers and take it for the long journeys…. 😇 Maybe selling my Sporty as I got bored with the way the HD folks act and was always more into small basic bikes…
I've tried up gearing bikes and it never works. You actually get worse mpg cuz the bikes labouring. Manufacturers research this properly and know what they're doing. Happy riding!
117 kg is light nowadays but the 125s back in the 80s,when the 125 law came out, were generally under 100kg and the 100 two strokes (that were faster than the 125 four strokes) only weighed 85kg! Great video, thanks.
yeah thanks for that review mate that was really in depth and easy to understand. im a new rider, passed my cbt 2 days ago, i was gonna get a cheapo keeway, not anymore. this is on my list though it is £2995 from my local dealer which is more than what you said it rrp for :o
I want one. Used to ride years ago but need a CBT now so I will do that first then get one of these. Should be ok for my commute, I don't need to go above 50.
This is one of the most comprehensive reviews of this bike. Great work. By the way, I have a question: You state that it has a 13.1 lt tank but the specs say that it's 11 lt. Could you please elaborate on that? Thanks.
Lovely bike! Only missing rpm meter, ECO light doesn't replace it... I have an euro IV version, if you check oil every 500 miles it's an indestructible bike. Congratulations for your channel! ✌️😎
@@fenrir7969 I ordered mine from MMB in Germany for about € 80. They can be calibrated for single cylinder engines by switching pins on the backside. Used a speedometer clamp to mount. The MMB unit works satisfactory but you will sure find lower priced items on the internet. Greetings
Thinking about getting this for my first bike, really wanna do my cbt now but I think it’s the wrong time of the year to do it. Also looked at the Yamaha YZF R125 but the insurance was literally over double the price of the CBF 125
You know what - I've just done my CBT and I'm looking for a 125 to start with - I've watched pretty much every video on youtube, and yours was the best. Straightforward, proper hands on review, with learners in mind. I'm a big guy - 5'7 and play rugby - do you think the CB125R is a better option?
Firstly thanks for your kind words. This bike is absolutely fantastic for its price, however the cb125r is far superior but comes with a hefty price tag. If you are keeping the bike for 4 or more years go for the cb125r, if you are looking for a stepping stone to gain a couple years experience and move onto a bigger bike then the cb125f is perfect. Hope this helps.
6'2", no sports but traces of gourmetism and damn happy on my F. I have a full license but ride those most basic economy Hondas, to have something that cuts my everyday cake reliably and as cheap as possible. My daily commute consists of village and motorway. If it was country road heavy, I might be lusting after something more powerful, to join the speeding there. Clarification attempt: Even unspectacular family cars go faster and accelerate better than my venerable Innova, so there is quite a bit of stupid and occasionally slightly risky overtaking going on when I am on a country road. Motorways seem fine, I can swim along with the trucks and there is at least a 2nd lane, to overtake me safely. A CB125R should be a tad faster but do you have 2K€ to waste on it, not yet mentioning higher fuel consumption plus probably more expensive tires & maintenance? In the current cost of living crisis I'd rather survive comfortably. Talking just bikes and dreams, I'd sink extra cash in a license and a "beginner bike" thats fun to ride, maybe a CRF300 or a CB500X, IF(!) I was pretty confident to have means and moods, to make good use of it, every year.
Had a candy apple red one. Absolutely loved it and got to and from work on a fiver a week but found the chain caused me a fair few problems. Had to Change them so many times in the 3 years I owned it. Unfortunately then once the gypsy kids by my work spotted it they tried to pinch it which they failed to break the handle bar lock so they just smashed it up instead. I went back to a car after.
I actually perfer my 2017 model, one of the main reasons i bought that bike was that it has an analog dash woth actual physical needles, with a fuel gaugue
They will do 72 mph but the rev limiter kicks in so 71 is top speed but it consistently reaches 60-65mph. I rode mine hard and chose not to baby it through the run-in period because a) dealership was on a 70mph dual carriageway with next to zero run on ramp and b) babying a 125 gets you nowhere fast lol and its not always that safe imo. The engine noticeably opens up after 1st service. Edit: I am 16st or 224lbs and 185cm...with a 2023 model.
Agreed to all, i bought last week brand new and everything are as you said. And one more thing, i have better view from the right mirror than the left.I dont know how that happend.I try to ajust it but not a big deference
I would really like to see you take this off-road or make an offroad or dual sport version with some scrambler/enduro tires. I would like to see a scrambler version of the CB160F, or at the same size. Im looking for a beginner bike like this but as a scrambler/adventure
@@nicksepisode yeah maybe you can make a build video of the bike, add some chunky tires like the yamaha tw200, raise the ground clearance abit maybe if you want, something that can handle all terrain all weather, add some panniers on the side and go on a cross country or weekend adventure or road trip with your wife. That would be a great video.
I agree about the Chinese branded bikes and build quality with Honda being a step up, wherever they are manufactured. This is built in Italy, the older models have been Indian or Pakistani built or Chinese. But, why a company as big as Honda cannot make a 14 HP engine is beyond comprehension. The engine is there, it just needs pepping up, 10HP just does not cut it. I`m sure if it was 14 HP, a lot more sales would be there especially in the UK. I would buy it, but not at 10 HP. sorry.
Given the price of fuel, I'm seriously considering one of these for the 40 mile commute into London, sounds crazy but only a few miles of the A13 is NSL at the moment.
Respect! My own commute is just 10mls. To do 40 all year round you shouldn't skimp on clothes. You 'll also rack up quite a maintenance bill. So far I left more at the garage than at gas stations. While DIY might be an option, a slightly bigger guzzler like a 300 with half the maintenance could be competitive.
Prefer my older gen cbf125. Bought it for £1,000. Bit more vibration. But a great machine to learn on in my opinion. Including how to fix the various components. Owned a 2017 cbf125f and was shocked at how much slower it was than the older model and how quickly it would red line in comparison. This latest model has a ridiculous tank range. That’s a big difference. And the digital display. Forgot a question, is it air cooled or liquid?
Hello Nick I enjoy watching your vids I had your wifes bike 2018 model it was fabulous & taught me a lot, passed my full licence in 2019, I now have a CB1000R & I'm considering changing to the 2021 HONDA NC750X DCT what do you think!? Thank you Chris, my wife is really enjoying it and had already booked her theory! As for your cb1000r switch over to the nc750x, I think if you don't care about neck wrenching speed you'll absolutely love the nc. I love the frunk and the best part that's often over looked is the nc can do twice the amount of miles on 10 pounds worth of fuel than cb1000r, which saves you money for cakes and coffee at the end of the ride! Thanks for the support as long as you all keep watching I'll keep posting. Ride safe
Hello, I have just bought a brand new CB125F. It is my first bike and am loving it. Can I just ask if the following is normal. If you start and ride it from cold, for literally only the first minute there is a whining noise from the engine. This disappears very soon. If I start the engine and leave for a minute the idle speed drops and no noise. I have put this down to just the idle speed being higher when cold. Just thought I’d check if this is normal. Great review, cheers!
Good video, how does it handle in rain? I’m just starting out gonna do my cbt soon and am trying to decide what 125cc bike to get. I’ll need it all year round preferably so would really appreciate your feedback please.

@@nicksepisode Another question before my honda arrives... which bike lock would you recommend. my bike will be stored on the street for the most part, so anything high security.
@@robertabanks961 I use this one, its the biggest you can get away with because of the small disc on the cb, it takes getting use to putting it on and taking it off but its maximum security, plus you need the key to install it so no chance of locking it without the key. here is the link www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07VM2G8KV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Got one from new, only just over 650 miles, very disappointed with the quality. started rusting after 3 months (including the chrome on the forks!) honda aren't interested as corrosion isn't covered under warranty! Current getting 145mpg which isn't bad but very slow especially on E10 fuel. This will be going soon, I only bought it because I thought it'd be better than an 04 plate Suzuki I have (big mistake). Wouldn't buy a Honda again, had Yamaha's, and Suzuki's before and never had one rust like this!
It most favorite bike now in India, for its super Mileage and low service cost. some UA-camrs in India did 3000-4000 km of Long Ride to Himalayas. and it is named as Honda SP 125, and price around 1300+ USD. but now it has a competitor it is TVS Raider 125

Thanks for your review; really useful. I've ordered mine to replace a 500. I started motorcycling with a Honda SS125 over fifty years ago. It was actually much quicker than the CB125F! Finally, I've concluded that I just prefer light small bikes; must be getting old!
Great choice!
You are a man driving a motorbike and not a man driven by a motorbike. This would be my choice as well.
Like to replace my 71CB 100 but they don't sell it in the in US, I've almost 80 so I'm done with big bikes now.
Or , maybe it just makes sense, given the price of petrol at the moment!
I couldn't agree more Richard
CBT completed last week . Got myself a Honda CBF 125 2018, in perfect condition, been out today fir the first time ,,,
Excellent! Enjoy your new ride !
I've been looking for the perfect bike - I'm not interested in going fast, I'm an older rider, I want the simplicity of air cooling, I want bright lights for safety, I want good economy, all at a good price. This could very well be the bike for me.
yes you said it"!
Quite an improvement from the previous model especially in the engine department and of course the new dashboard. Honda has done a brilliant job once again 🙂
I totally agree
Hi Andrew, thank you so much for your feedback. Hope you enjoy your motorcycle. Ride safe.
I love your vids there is no crapy music and loads of exact information well done.
You don’t miss any of the super details as well as the few but expected negatives because of the nature of the bike. Again very well done.
It's really great to hear your positive feedback
11kg lighter than the previous model on such a light bike is huge
Impressive isn't it
Bought my Brilliant CBF125 2yrs ago l do a 20mile round commute to work everyday & love riding it,will be putting in for my test soon but will keep this as a commute bike I fill up the tank once a month about £10-£12!
So great to hear this! 👏
The best media content founded about this bike. Congrats
I'm honoured

Respect!
Thank you Phil 😊
It's definitely worthy of consideration. Apparently, in the next few years, all major towns and cities are likely to have a congestion charge, but currently, motorcycles are exempt from the charge. When Labour comes into power, it looks increasingly likely.
How tall are you and does it fit you? I am 191cm (6'2-6'3), I have read about it being good for tall bikers but I don't have a dealership near me and want to know if it may fit.
this bike sells in India as the "SP125 Shine". Priced at GBP 995 on-road. almost 1/3rd of that in UK.
this bike returns anywhere between 150-180MPG.
Video coming soon on this, thanks for watching
How much fuel is it using?
From my information the fuel consuming about 42.5km per litter or 2.4L in 100 km and ranges 290 miles.
do you think it is just the right size for you or a bit too small?
I buy one tomorrow. Due to the rising fuel prices I ride this to work and back not my car. Thx again for the Video mate
Perfect mode of transport with the way fuel prices are heading
Thinking about getting one but cant decide. Already have a Ninja 650 but want another one for commutes within the city and the low fuel usage.
You’ll find yourself using this more than the ninja lol
@@nicksepisode haha thanks for the comment 😁 i think i will get it in end of october then

Used to love my GS125 getting 80mpg back in the day when my mate’s RD125 was lucky to get 40mpg……..good to see modern tech getting greater efficiency
It's the only way forward! Next best thing would be electric! But that's another story!
@@nicksepisode indeed. I had my first electric car 10 years ago, I love them. Not so convinced about electric bikes, but I use motorbikes as touring/day trip vehicles and I see electrification of two wheelers as useful for short range commuting only currently.

Sold my 1800 gold wing and bought this for town commutes.. great fun and surprisingly very economic… get lots of people staring as I am 6 ft 7 in tall… I smile on every ride laughing all the time.. .😂😂😂. My only criticism is the mirrors are inadequate and should be wider to give you more idea what’s behind you…
Couldn't agree more!
My first bike was the Keeway 125 too heavy for the engine and kept cutting out when idling. I've now purchased this cb125f in that pearl white colour as I felt way more confident on it when doing the manouvers in my CBT.
yeah, makes a massive difference
So many reasons why I still love riding 125’s.
agreed!
One of the best reviews I've seen . Very honest and detailed., It even serves as a tutorial if riding for the first time 👍🤗
Thank you so much !
Gald it was helpful, enjoy your new motorcycle!
Thx for your work on this video 👍
id love a cub !
I had a cbf 125,it was a very good bike,more than 500 kms with the gas.But now,i have her gran sister,the 1000,so gooood ;)
As I’m watching this review I’m just realising your riding right where I live! Awesome stuff!

This bike has a great riding position. A good choice, buddy. Have fun!
Thanks young man for that splendid review - the economy on that little bike is phenomenal - they are prone to corrosion however - suggest that you immediately coat it with acf50 or something similar
Already done this, check out my other videos
How do you use Acf 50? Can you describe a little. Does it protect against rust?

@@florme6494 thanks for the recommendation. I have already done that. Regards
The start/charge system can generate 380 watts easily feeding complete heated motorcyle gear from Gerbing. That is such a pleasure during cold season.
OMG!
Thanks for the comment

You done really well getting it to 72, your are obviously lighter than me haha. Thanks for the kind comments 😀 ride safe
She absolutely loves it, but said the seat is very firm though. She has now booked her theory test 🤞
It's definitely a cheap and cheerful bike, and it shows in some areas.
I prefer anything with combined brakes.
@@125ordie2 really? I feel the other way and prefer to have the control of two independent brakes.

I normally ride a ZX12R but I need a small bike for whizzing into town on. I did think of a DAX 125 but I think it's a bit of a gimmick to be honest and it's more expensive than this bike, so in my opinion this makes more sense.

For this difference of 10 kilos it would be nice to make a Honda cb250f parallel twin air cooled engine.
I have 3 GSX250E. They sound surprising similar to the CB125F 2021 beside they are small twins.
Great rewiew.
I have the same bike since 2 weeks (230 miles).
I'm in France, I'm French and my English is ... what it is.
The mirrors could have been better. They are pretty. The right mirror is more outside than the left one (the right one is fixed on the break lever). That's more annoying in France than in the U-K :-)
My bike is the metric version (km, l/100 km).
I was dissapointed by my left mirror too, but noticed I could loosen it and push it 0.5cm further out. Since then I am OK.
Great review. It's a good little bike but Honda would increase their sales of it by offering hand guards, a screen and a top box included. If they did this I would maybe ditch my scooter in the CB125's favour.
Totally agree
I'm learning on one of these (had a lesson yesterday, CBT next week) and will end up buying one. Purely by accident I appear to have picked THE best bike for my circumstances 😁
What a result !! All the best 👍
@@nicksepisode Thanks!
Ride safe

I used to ride RV125s (Van Van) and they are the only 125s I'd ever ride. The CB125F is clearly a good bike but the aesthetics don't do it for me. The thin rear wheel kind of puts me off. Good review though, and I can understand why they are so popular.
I agree the tyres could be wider and that would help with stability too!
Each to their own. I'm a commuting cheapskate and seriously wondering why Honda put 1cm wider tires than on my Innova on the F.

Did a test ride on one when my PCX was on service - absolutely lovely!
Only criticism is that it is a bit geared to low. You could easily pull away in 2nd gear without big clutch slipping…
One or two teeth more on the front sprocket would save this…
Owning a Harley Sportster together with my PCX 125 I‘m tempted to buy one add some paniers and take it for the long journeys…. 😇
Maybe selling my Sporty as I got bored with the way the HD folks act and was always more into small basic bikes…
yeah i sold my sporty, small bikes are where its at
I've tried up gearing bikes and it never works.

I went back to a car after.
nothing lower than a thief, scum bags
I actually perfer my 2017 model, one of the main reasons i bought that bike was that it has an analog dash woth actual physical needles, with a fuel gaugue
Yeah, I can appreciate that
@@nicksepisode + mine has a tachometer as well
They will do 72 mph but the rev limiter kicks in so 71 is top speed but it consistently reaches 60-65mph. I rode mine hard and chose not to baby it through the run-in period because a) dealership was on a 70mph dual carriageway with next to zero run on ramp and b) babying a 125 gets you nowhere fast lol and its not always that safe imo. The engine noticeably opens up after 1st service.
Edit: I am 16st or 224lbs and 185cm...with a 2023 model.
good job buddy
Agreed to all, i bought last week brand new and everything are as you said. And one more thing, i have better view from the right mirror than the left.I dont know how that happend.I try to ajust it but not a big deference
Enjoy your new bike and congratulations
The little tool kit was in the side, under the seat
I know now, silly me didn't notice through the camera view finder
I would really like to see you take this off-road or make an offroad or dual sport version with some scrambler/enduro tires.
I would like to see a scrambler version of the CB160F, or at the same size. Im looking for a beginner bike like this but as a scrambler/adventure
To be honest it would make a good video! I can see where you're coming from though
Used to have a c b f ,for town work was great only negative front disc brake was sharp as hell .
I agreed with you on that !
The Suzuki keys holder...🤣🤣🤣 Mine is the 2017 model and it has today 40 000 km without special problems.
It has honda on the key ring as well haha.
I would buy it, but not at 10 HP. sorry.
True
Very good review except from the use of the imperial measurement system. the metric system just make so much more sense
Depending on where you come from 😀
Given the price of fuel, I'm seriously considering one of these for the 40 mile commute into London, sounds crazy but only a few miles of the A13 is NSL at the moment.
This would be absolutely ideal, and such a joy to ride !
Thank you.
I will consider this bike as first one.
Good choice
I could see your tool kit 😊 anyway thanks for the review I have made my mind up I’m gonna buy one cheers 🍻
Just testing you haha
Prefer my older gen cbf125. Bought it for £1,000. Bit more vibration. But a great machine to learn on in my opinion. Including how to fix the various components. Owned a 2017 cbf125f and was shocked at how much slower it was than the older model and how quickly it would red line in comparison. This latest model has a ridiculous tank range. That’s a big difference. And the digital display. Forgot a question, is it air cooled or liquid?
the fuel economy and digital display is definitely a plus for this model
Hello Nick I enjoy watching your vids I had your wifes bike 2018 model it was fabulous & taught me a lot, passed my full licence in 2019, I now have a CB1000R & I'm considering changing to the 2021 HONDA NC750X DCT what do you think!? Keep making vids as I enjoy them very much safe riding take care 🏍
Ride safe
only thing i cant get away with is the pencil thin tyres. my mate had one and i just had no confidence going into turns
You get used to it. You'll be surprised how much grip you have on them
I was toying between this bike and the MSX125 2023 Model because I’m quite short and not sure about the seat height
Msx125 would be perfect. Awesome bikes with a massive following
Good review. Well done. Put together with an awful lot of consideration and thought re new riders.
Thanks Paul
Just so you all know , this bike ( I'm on my third tank of fuel on my brand new one ) will do nothing like 188 mpg . 120 is more realistic
My wife twist the throttle only 10 percent lol
Great video, thanks for making it.
It will idle high until warm, it's normal. Thanks for watching and enjoy your bike! Ride safe
Good video, how does it handle in rain? I’m just starting out gonna do my cbt soon and am trying to decide what 125cc bike to get. I’ll need it all year round preferably so would really appreciate your feedback please.
not great in the wet, tyres would need an upgrade
This bike is my dream now, because she's riding it and I just gotta get one to ride with her. Btw, I don't even know how to do it, I'm gonna start the motoring school at 40! 😎😂
Well done, riding keeps you young. It's never too late to start enjkying the world on 2 wheels
Amazing review! Was wondering what kind of phone mount would be best for this bike- handle bar, mirror, or fork stem mount ?
I use the quad lock phone mount that goes on the bar, thanks for your kind comment
Unfortunately most vehicle manufacturers who produce 125's are cutting back on quality. A good rust protection and routine maintenance helps 👍
It most favorite bike now in India, for its super Mileage and low service cost. some UA-camrs in India did 3000-4000 km of Long Ride to Himalayas. and it is named as Honda SP 125, and price around 1300+ USD. but now it has a competitor it is TVS Raider 125
Thanks for sharing
@@nicksepisode Welcome please watch India made TVS Raider 125 once. Thank you 😊
Ive got my cbt for the first time in a couple of weeks. Got one of these reserved for when i pass. Looks like a really good bike. Anything i should know about owning/living with one?
Check out my corrosion prevention video, this will keep rust at bay as some parts corrode prematurely on this bike. Appart from that there is nothing to watch out for. Good luck
@@nicksepisode thanks. Really good videos and useful information. Ive got very little experience with bikes so youre videos have been really helpful
I’ve got a Suzuki GSXs 125 but someone has crashed into it recently so there insurance is sending me this bike as a hire bike, hopefully it’s a good as you say it is
never rode a gsxs 125 so cant really say, the cb125f will serve you well though
