- Super Metroid is great. I've beaten it like two months ago because Retro is forcing me to play all the 2D metroids lol. I've beaten Zero Mission, AM2R, Super Metroid and I'm gonna play Fusion soon.
Overgrowth really stood out to me because of that bassline. It was one of my favorites from the soundtrack. There were probably a few others in the soundtrack that I really liked but this one really stood out to me. In fact I loved it so much I finished this song really quickly in one sitting. I don't think I've had motivation like that in a while.
So for this remix, I went for a Trance kind of vibe because I feel like Metroid really goes well with Trance a lot of the time. Spacey, atmospheric stuff really falls in line with the genre. Though I guess for this one I took its gloomy-ness and turned it into something more uplifting. I hope that's alright with y'all.
Also as I'm typing this my PC might be on its last legs. Idk what is going on with this thing but I might just end up building a new one because it's being super sluggish and lagging all over the place, blue screening, taking forever to boot up and shut down, in fact before uploading this I was spending all day trying to diagnose what the issue is. Whether it's the CPU being too old (It's a 4790k), or the drives (My boot drive being an HDD which is 3 years old), idk. But I'm leaning more towards needing to build an entirely new computer very soon. We'll see how it goes. I hope this doesn't result in inactivity because I've been having some motivation to create again, finally. blehhh I'll likely scream about it on twitter or something if anything important comes up xD

Hey guys! I'd like to know what is your favorite Metroid overworld theme? (Spinoffs count too) Because at the moment I think I'd say my favorite is probably Kraid's lair from Zero mission. What is yours?
Mine's Phendrana Drifts, I like the atmosphere it creates. Have fun playing Metroid Fusion.
The overworld theme from Metroid 2. It gives SR388 a unique feel compared to Zebes
It's gotta be the weapons facility them from am2r it's got such great energy about it
The music from Sector 2 (TRO) in Metroid Fusion. Sector 2 is a jungle, and its music really captures that tropical feeling, while also keeping the suspense up. When I played the game, and encountered the evil SAXophone in that one room, the music kept me feeling that the SAXophone could come back at any moment to kill me. it's really good
have fun in fusion lol. also skytown from metroid prime 3 is so good. sunken ship in metroid prime 1 is good and lower torvus bog in metroid prime 2 is basically lower brinstar in super metroid. all very good. more ambient and calm than some others.
sanctuary fortress is good too. (metroid prime 2)
the chozo temple in prime 1 has a really great theme too. phendrana is goooood. magmoor/lower norfair is iconic as hell. dont get me started on the boss themes hgggg
Brinstar Green has some very Green Greens.

Id say my favorites would have to be phendrana drifts(both) from metroid prime 1, metroid 1's main overworld, and brinstar greens.

If you want to get into it, I would recommend Zero Mission or Samus Returns. Both do enough to guide beginners but allow you to explore the environment. Super Metroid is also a good start, but only if you like figuring out everything on your own. If you want the 3D treatment, then Prime is a good start
@@cyber_ninja121 Agreed. Zero Mission is kind of the logical starting point, being a remake of the original. Super Metroid is one im not to keen on because i feel that the controlls are a bit to floaty compared to the rest of the series, but thats personal preference i suppose, and the Prime Games are oddballs for me because while i adore their story and world, i never could get myself to clear them on my own.
I started with the prime trilogy, and then went in chronological order of the 2D games. Zero mission, AM2R, Super Metroid and soon Fusion. If you can't get ahold of the prime trilogy (Which I'd say is the best part of the series) Zero mission is definitely a good start since it's a GBA game and easy to emulate.

Serris and Yakuza themes from metroid fusion has gotta be my fav will always love other metroid themes.

granted im doing it for videos so im gonna be a whole lot slower, but still, recently cleared fusion so im on to the 3d ones. You ever play Other M on hard? i got recommended that i should and that apparently its really difficult but i wouldnt know yet.
Anyways, enough of that. Really chill remix, a lot less hype than the original or other remixes, but that isnt a bad thing. keep it up :D
My favourite Overworld theme is definetly the Phendrana Drifts, followed closely by the Samus Returns rendition of the Underwater theme.
Zero mission's Norfair is very under appreciated.
Sector 4 AQA depths is really good too.

Super metroid's tourian statue theme is pretty ominous and great.

It's really sad that the first boss you fight in Brinstar is so underappreciated... I liked the theme they used!
This Soundtrack gives the Overgrowth theme a new meaning. I could play in something like a robot factory in Metroid Dread style as well.

It definitely is more uplifting; but it is a song that captures my favorite storytelling trope, the Chosen Hero trope. It brings an already niche musical trope to a series I already like, and makes it a bit less dark.

I immediately notice that Samus is fighting spore-spawn with the Varia suit, which she doesn't get until after Kraid is defeated.

You must not be very familiar with trance music then. It's fine, I just wanted to create something that would fit with the genre rather than just a re-skin of the original.
I’m very familiar with trance, it’s a really nice trance song, but I clicked on it cause I’m a huge fan of SM and was expecting to hear a remix of what I’d imagined would be green brinstar. Not the first 5 seconds of the song on loop without the main beat.
