6900xt jump is impressive. I bought that card a while back, but it had some real shenanigans with what VRMs coil sounded. It sounded like a broken fan, not a buzz or hum. It clicked from VRM area. It went back. It was also very inconsistent. It was less good than RTX 3070 in some games, but on paper it was incredibly better than 3070. But when it did good, it did good. Architecture matter, and the question is whether devs optimize game for AMD, which is silly but that's how it is, some devs don't care Insurgency Sandstorm ran worse with 6900xt than with 3070, and I was on 13900k. There are 2 cards to me that are SPECIAL in gaming history based on how much performance they gave in comparison to previous cards, and that's RTX 4090 and GTX 1080ti I own RTX 4090 now, but I never had a good job until I was able to afford 4090, I have spent decades playing on lower end and low midrange cards and had to struggle bus all that time. I had to tune things and make things work better in the background of Windows GTX 1080ti can still play games in 2024, not as well as modern midrange 4000 series, but that is a TESTAMENT to that card The only caveat here is that games had a huge jump in resource hogging with Unreal Engine 5, which eats your frames for no clear reason. Game looks near identical to Unreal 4, but eats 50% of your frames GTX 1080ti was in the era where game engines did not require that intensive work. BUT! That's no shade at 1080ti, it was and is that special I could not afford it, and I was on GTX 1070ti and eventually on GTX 1080 when first one dripped liquid metal somewhere (my fault) 4090 is amazing too, but it won't last as long with all these games being completely unoptimized I hear NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX was another gem of history. So was GTX 780
