WUUAAAHHH not looking for any trouble, but is mr. Trump wrong or is he right??? That is the question!!!!! :o) (Just joking!! Not meaning to be political. If anyone is offended, then try not to be. Just put on some warm clothes and go out in the snow, if you have some!! Just could not help it. Nice day to all, no matter what!! :o) )
I have the Duluth Hardgear AK Trigger Mitts, I can't wait to try these and compare them! SO cool you did a review of these, I live in Southern Montana, I am outdoors in negative temps a lot and these look great, especially for the price!
I wasn’t sure if this was a good mitten. I’m really starting to enjoy your selection of gear and the way you review. I like how u bring out the best in the best of government surplus! I’ve decided to subscribe today. Thanks and keep up the good work!!
Great review. I purchased a pair around the time you did this review & they are but far the best mits I have ever owned. I wear them in -25C & colder temperatures & my fingers are toasty. These mits should successfully go much colder than -25C.
Another great review, Luke. Thanks for comparing the E-Bay prices with Amazon prices. I usually go to Amazon first, but no more when it comes to military surplus.
Hey there Luke, try shooting with Wide DR gamma profile on your new GX10 camera. The colors will look even more life-like and less over exposed highlights, less video-like. Give it a try and see if you like it!
Pro tip, when you're doing highly aerobic activities in the cold buy a couple fleece gloves or liners because when the humidity gets up there you start to get clammy and correspondingly colder so do a quick sway and your extremities will stay warmer.
i have some german military gloves / mittens and they are awsome too. i paid like 15$ cad for them and i can wear them down to -30°C without moving ( too warm when hiking)
I don't own or use firearms, but having the index finger free will let me use a camera and telescope more easily (winter is the best time for observing--less atmospheric noise). Should also make shifting on the bicycle easier. Anything OR is going to be top-notch: they've been making the best gloves, gaiters, hats, etc. for over 30 years. FWIW, if your liners aren't touchscreen-sensitive, you can actually retrofit them with some conductive thread. I paid $7 for a small bobbin, which is good for 10-15 pairs of gloves.
Those remind me of the Shooters Gloves my Father has from his time in Alaska. His are white Canvas outers with Elk Skin Palms. Inside are Wool Felt Liners. (You also wear a pair of thin Finger Gloves inside them.) His also have the long Sleeve Dummy Cords. (They run up the Coat Sleeve, across the Shoulders and then back down the other Sleeve.) That way you just can't lose the Mittens. He's worn them down to -70°F around Nenana. Me personally I have worn them down to 10°F and they were more than warm enough. Oh, a nice trick you can do when it does get cold. You can pull your Index or Trigger Finger out of it's Sleeve and let it stay warm with the rest of your fingers in the Mitten until you need to do something. Ed
Got these just in time for our latest Arctic blast in NYC. My hands were sweating while shoveling snow. Awesome surplus buy and well made OR military glove system...definitely recommend them. Luke, what brand of shirt with the "T" like symbol are you wearing in your videos?
I just found some that were similar to what you were showing but two completely different companies one is strictly for the shell ones for the liner cost me $27 and some odd sense
Looks like my snowboarding gloves which cost a lot more than what these cost! And that trigger finger would be useful in undoing the bindings on my board ect 👍😊
Luke I know you showed this 14 hours ago and I've been trying to find them on eBay as you said but all I can find is just either the shell or just a small piece of the shells not both gloves at the same time
I bought The North Face Montana Gore-Tex Mitt for Men on Black Friday and they are too warm for hikes in 10 degree weather with 10 mph wind. They are $60 but worth every cent.
I saw those as well. If these don't end up being warm enough, I'll probably pick up something like them. There are military surplus versions for OR for about the same price, and Black Diamond has a similar 2-piece model for a little more dough.
Great review! Would you advise to size down these mitts, because they are huge? You wear a size S of these mitts, is this your normal size? Thanks a lot!
"Idiot Cord" is meant for high altitude mountain climbing where losing gloves can mean big big trouble. (Losing often meaning sliding away and gone over a cliff) No, I am not a mountain climber except in my dreams.
Some suggestions, not so expensive, ships world wide. Should it be? Nice day!!!: grey-shop.ru/Protection-Equipment/Tactical-Gloves/VKBO-Winter-Gloves armada-store.com/russian-modern-army/tactical-military-gloves/vkbo-winter-gloves.html armada-store.com/russian-modern-army/tactical-military-gloves/red-army-mittens.html (Have these, quite large, if you put a finger-glove or thin mitten on, as inner glove, like Luke, these are super for the price. Should could cope with -4 F. But I live in Denmark and have only been biking around in these in eg. +27 F, but no inner glove and almost too warm fingers / hands. But just a suggestion. ) www.thesovietrussia.com/category/russian-military-gloves kamuflage.ru/en/perchatki-uteplennye.html
great video don't see that Amazon money coming in after this one LOL you can see the burly quality in these that outweigh any lightweight worries if you need sturdy gear
I'm waiting for Fjallraven to come out with a pair of awesome gloves/mittens that are extremely warm (like all other products) and maybe come up to the elbow or half way, let's all write some letters/emails to them so they get a flood of them at once so they can finally make this happen! lol, until then, I'm using these gloves that i really love, they do keep my hands warm to -20 below temps
Cool gloves, specially for the price. Value for money is the best IMHO. High End can be nice, Low End can be crap (some high end too, but....) But good solid value for money is the best, I think. But that is just me. Nice day. :o)
NOT ENTIRELY ACCURATE REVIEW BY MY THINKING. Yes they are the following, economical not cheap, well made and waterproof, but for me not as warm as a pair of hot fingers. The outer shell has zero or less insulation. It does little to keep ones hands warm other than block wind which they do well. The polyester liner is not all that thick and as I said offers less insulation value than a pair or hot fingers which do have much thicker and efficient insulation. They are so bulky that almost anything you want to do requires me to remove my glove. This is almost as true for hot fingers also, but they are much easier to put back on, not having to deal with straps if you use them on the OR gloves. Gloves too large or too small tend to be cold. It is possible the 2xl gloves I bought are too big causing heat loss, but again they are just not that warm and a pair of $30 hot fingers are warmer, easier to use and much, much less bulky. My two cents.
I was with you on this review until you mentioned Gore Tex. Gore Tex sucks. I have had many Gore Tex products for bicycling in all kinds of weather and it is NO GOOD. I do like the price point of these gloves.
Any idea what these are..pretty sure they are Canadian surplus gloves but other than that not sure look at time stamp 2:06ua-cam.com/video/m5Btc0slI3U/v-deo.html they are very durable and comfortable gloves
I think this guy is trying to sell and doesn't realize he looks stupid. Really those gloves are good for backpacking, really!!! Think about what your doing. I think he just wanted to get a video out. Lost all credibility.
The average temp in the USA is 11F (-11.6C) right now; is that cold enough for you?
- Luke

Only 22 degrees all the way down to the gulf of Mexico
Solar minimum, mini ice age on the way? We need to sue Al Gore, he promised warming...
thanks for the heads up on these gloves just ordered some cant wait to get them

I've guided on mountin climbs and have used few of the OR products, very well made IMO.
I've tried these mittens on They are exactly what you said.

I just purchased a pair of those a few weeks ago. Thanks once again Luke
Thanks Luke just ordered a pair. -12 here in N. IL. Thanks again!
Very cool product, thanks for sharing Luke!
Awesome review thank you sir

Thanks for the review Luke, stay safe.
Hi,
Are the gloves 100% waterproof?
Thank you
My problem is that I need something for extreme northern Minnesota -40 degrees with WINDCHILL, not just the standard temp
Just picked up a set from eBay! Thanks for the review!
i have some german military gloves / mittens and they are awsome too. i paid like 15$ cad for them and i can wear them down to -30°C without moving ( too warm when hiking)

I don't think I've ever came across a outdoor research product I've disliked.
Here in Cleveland right now its 5F. The gloves ive got are good till about 0 before they give out.
It's -15°F here right now, might need to look into these.
thanks for the review. got a new old stock on ebay for $40 today :)
Got these just in time for our latest Arctic blast in NYC. My hands were sweating while shoveling snow. Awesome surplus buy and well made OR military glove system...definitely recommend them.

Cannot seem to find this for sale in size Large anywhere in 2021. Would like to get them for ski season.
My O.R mitts are great! Mine are from the Corps
Great review! Would you advise to size down these mitts, because they are huge? You wear a size S of these mitts, is this your normal size? Thanks a lot!
I have those Luke there awesome for winter hunting
Everyone loves the Mutant Mitts! - Luke
i just ordered those right before new years, dont have them yet.......hope they work out.
When you get them brother, let me know what you think. - Luke
Nice review!
Now that was funny," this is what's known as an idiot cord -- perfect for skiers".
"Idiot Cord" is meant for high altitude mountain climbing where losing gloves can mean big big trouble. (Losing often meaning sliding away and gone over a cliff) No, I am not a mountain climber except in my dreams.
And also for people on ski lifts who might remove a glove and watch it disappear into the trees beneath them.
I’ve got three pair that FAIL here right now!!! -4 F outside!! New Hampshire winters are Brutal!

Yeah... wondering if Primaloft liners would be needed--or just flat-out regular mittens.

Glad I caught this by accident. I'm a woman who can't tolerate walking my dogs in Chicago weather. Off to ebay; thank you Luke.
Wonder if they would be good for snowboarding?
I plan to use mine for that.

Right now sportsman’s guide has a good deal on them.
Outdoor research mitts are $150 on eBay :(

How about -40 standing still

Paid $60 for these on Colemans Surplus.

>100% waterproof
>breathable
pick one. it is literally impossible to have both at the same time.
Leans more toward the former, but more breathable than rubber gloves would be.
Anyone have a pair of Larges they are looking to sell? Went pheasant hunting the other day in -18 and it was chilly.

Wow, that idiot chord was made for me.
