- Опубліковано 6 жов 2024
- A sort of documentary of the history of Winston Peters in New Zealand parliament. He was the founder of the New Zealand First party, former national MP, and the former holder of various political offices, including deputy prime minister, Foreign minister, and tresure. Winston is one of the most famous and impactful politicians in the last 40 years of New Zealand politics, most notably playing the role of the 'King Maker' to 3 different prime ministers.
Hope you enjoyed the longer video than normal

Hope you enjoyed the video. Sorry not sure why the aspect ratio is a bit strange. Let me know your thoughts about Winston Peters
this aged well
He'll be back in 2023!
We will see. I think the only way he gets back is if labour puts a referendum forward at the next election to change the name of the country. If they do that I think NZF can muster up 5%, other than that I think they are irrelevant and dead in the water.
Winston is too old and right wing populists that supported him are mad that he went with labour in 2017.
@@TuiPoliticsstill stand by this?
@@bryantmcintyre3323Fancy seeing you here.
I think he might make a comeback too this year.
@@TuiPoliticswell he's now the deputy prime Minister and at age 79, he's more sharper than his opponents on the Left and far Left!
And how right you were @Werly5111 !What a career from the irrepressible WP.
He's our Sir Billy Hughes. Many seats, many parties and many opportunities.
Subscriber 400. Thank you for the great video!
I'd love to sit down and have a good chat with you. I think you'd make a fantastic author or political journalist. I must admit that your ability to keep your political stance private and neutral is admirable
Go New Zealand 🇳🇿 first 😊😊
How do you watch that video and think Winston is anything but the villain of nz politics ?
THE DEAD SPEAK SOMEHOW PALPATINE HAS RETURNED @@TuiPolitics
Lol more updates to come. This guy just wont go away.
Good luck to His Honourable Winston Peter's.
well he's back in 2023. WP will never sit idle
Really enjoyed this vid mate, wish there were more kiwi conrebt creators along this line. Tiny quibble though, its Bolger not Bolgers.
Well he is not my favourite person. But kudos must be given. No one can come back from the wilderness the way he does. Not his first rodeo, but probably his last hurrah! If anyone deserves a knighthood its him! (Gawd, cant believe Im saying that) but credit where its due.
NZ is democratic country never ever get involved in war . Always Neutral .
The green had a confidence in supply agreement in 1999 government they weren't not Coalition partners in the labour Alliance government
You are right. I tend to throw around the term coalition around when I mean any level of a political working agreement. Will be more specific in future videos
Winston is Winston
Very interesting TY. MMP is an interesting setup. Arguably better than FPP but.
Thoughts on Alliance/New Labour?
I do like Jim Anderton and many other lefties, as I do politically agree with people who are to the left of the current labour mainstream.
My problem is that the greens/new labour/alliance never really use their political leverage well to push their agenda (like someone like winston would do). They seem to sign off on labour policy, and never attack them from the left like Canada's NDP does.
Ultimately I still support these further left parties, but they leave much to be desired
You did a great job with this video, really enjoyed it. Thank you.
KING MAKER AGAIN 2023
Not really as he wont go either way, not the same as it was in 96, 2005, and 2017
@@TuiPolitics You right, my bad.
Great video… and he’s back again 😂
Good on ya Winston, 😊 well done.
Populist parties should honestly avoid going into coalition with the establishment parties unless they can get some significant policy concession. You are honestly better off forcing another election.
The best way to loose all of your seats in parliament would be to force a reelection
@@TuiPolitics not always true. There are historical examples of parties increasing their share of the vote after a reelection. Especially in cases where people are sick of the establishment parties.
Can he just kick the bucket already
Boo! lmao what a king
At time you were speaking way to fast doing commentary which made video hard to follow. Otherwise good value.
In the settings tab you can adjust speed.
