Thanks for the video. I have hard water and mine got super scaled up and leaked. I ordered a new vent but in the mean time I was able to clean mine and it stopped leaking for now until the part gets in.
@@Dzznatz I didn’t clean it all completely, I just broke off a bunch of the build up at the top and as good as I could. Seemed to make it good enough for another year!
Did you remove the O-ring that was inside the pump? If you didn't... you likely have 2 o-rings in there. If its not leaking, no harm no foul. However, when you removed the old vent, the o-ring does not come out with it.
wonderful video! quick question, a technician says in another vid, the red cap should be tight after the install, so did you do that or just leave it loss? thanks
Yes, the video by AngleG Master Plumber. The part I received had the red cap up and not down. If it’s supposed to be down, i wonder why Navien would sell it that way. ua-cam.com/video/xSg4L4mmIsk/v-deo.html
From the ones I’ve seen, they all have the vent above the circulation pumps. There are different variations to the design but it’s generally black plastic with a red cap on the top.
My ch-210 is leaking by the space heating supply pipe I don't know if this got something to do with the pump, the building pressure or its just the gasket.
Take the cover off and inspect the air vent or other possible areas for leaks. It’s 4 screws, 2 on the bottom and 2 on top to take the cover off. There are so many orings in my navien that a leak isn’t a matter of if it’ll leak but when.
Water gets into the unit. Obviously with electrical components inside the unit, water is not ideal. Also if it leaks enough, you could have water pressure issues and potentially throw an error code. I’ve replaced a leaking air vent 5 times now since 2011. In all instances there wasnt enough water to do any damage.
You have just officially voided your Navien warranty ! Why ? 1. Because you didn’t call Navien tech support before thinking about calling Navien tech support. 2. You didn’t register with Navien tech support before beginning your Navien tech support authorized and chaperoned repair. 3. You didn’t download the facial recognition software app from Navien, and the repair wasn’t visually witnessed by a Navien telephone repair expert (🙄) reading from a specialized software program designed to equip the typical high school dropout with an armament of step by step instructions on the replacement and test procedures of each and every part in the water heater/ combi-boiler. 4. You didn’t purchase/acquire your Navien replacement part directly from the Navien factory. 5. Your just not a ….. Navien-er .
Just had the exact same issue. $13 on Amazon and about 5 minutes and I was done. Thanks!
The little red cap on top should also be screwed down when done.
Thanks for this im having the same problem.

how did you clean it? I have the same problem and I'd like to clean and replace so I have hot water and no leaks while I wait for the new one.

I put mine in vinegar for a few minutes to descale.
Thanks for the video, well done! 😁This was so helpful!!!
I have the same problem. Is this a quality issue?

I just left it as-is. I can open up the water heater and see if anything looks different.

Are all the Navien equipment with that air vent above circulation pump
From the ones I’ve seen, they all have the vent above the circulation pumps. There are different variations to the design but it’s generally black plastic with a red cap on the top.
so mine is leaking from a cap or outlet underneath, how do you determine that it is the Air vent leaking?
I have the same problem, but it's shooting our of that cap. What causes them to go bad? Anyway, mine is 8 years old.

What happen if the circulation pump air vent leaks

Haha I’m not sure if this is sarcasm or not. I’ve proudly voided the warranty on everything I’ve ever owned! 😂
@vaughanpiccolo7232 he's being sarcastic. If navien asked you can just lie and say you never touched anyway.
