Boy, Oh, boy, whoever last had the plot sure had shown it much love, lol ... though, one does not know of their circumstances in life. My gardens are very large and quite astounding, THOUGH is a terrible amount of work, work, work! Will be fun to be on this journey along with you!
Good luck with your new allotment. I got my allotment on 28th March this year. Our council are doing half plots which is good for getting started. I have really enjoyed having the extra space, previously I was just digging up my front lawn to grow things because it was the only space I had, so now I can grow much more on my allotment plot. It is about connecting with nature as well as growing things to eat. I really enjoy spending time at my allotment - I hope you enjoy yours too. It'll be nice to see how you progress.
Got my plot in early June. Neck high in grasses. Cut the lot and covered it in plastic. I'll leave it now until next year and I'm just working on building compost bins from pallets and a small area for winter veg that can go in now. No need to tackle everything at once
my allotments 12 times worse than that, due to a LOT of things. i,ve been given a months notice .but i,m not going if i,m told i need to, i have 9 fruit trees, 8 big black current bushes.8 blueberrie bushes , and the plots now rammed with invasive weeds, planted by the coulcil i presume so people will leave and they can sell the land to developers. they think were as daft as them. looking forward to watching your progress . enjoy
That sounds dreadful. I hope you can win over the council and restore some order to the plot. All the fruit trees and berry bushes will hopefully provide a bountiful harvest. 🙂🌱
I have found that going to car boots, you can pick up soooo much stuff for allotments/gardening. Ive saved so much money doing this. Plus I downloaded the app 'Picture this' which is brilliant for finding out what the plants are before you get rid of them ( I didnt subscribe to it, you can use it free of charge), you just take a pic and it tells you what it is and info). Also organic compost 4 bags (50l a bag) at The range is only £10!!!!! ive bought loads to get me started, it has taken a lot and I still need more, but the compost from the range has saved me a fortune.
Thank you for the great ideas. I hadn’t thought about car boots I will need to give one a try. The 'Picture this' app sounds like just the thing I could do with 🙂🌱
How have you had to wait so long for a plot when that one has clearly been sat for a very long time? It always baffles me, You would think if people are on a waiting list and one comes up that it’s in pretty good order as it should have been in use. Anyway, enjoy! It’s so rewarding having a plot 😊
Thank you, I was told the council are slow to give out plots and the previous tenants are given a notice period but does seem unfair when many people are waiting. Looking forward to reaping the rewards. 🙂🌱
@@growwithwill7841 well I’m glad you have one now . Looking forward to following the progress, it’s such hard work to start with but we will all encourage you along the way . Keep calm and plot on !! 🇬🇧🪴
Great video, I have subscribed and will be following your exciting journey. Ive got to say, my plot was way worse than yours ha! it just takes time to clear it all, which i still havnt finished ( i got my plot in April), but I am loving every minute! Im sure yours will look amazing soon!
The weeds don't look bad at all, which may be a bad sign, as it may indicate things find it difficult to grow? I wouldn't like to have all that rubble though. Not an expert, just my thoughts.
Look forward to following your journey.
Thank you 🙂🌱
As a experienced gardener, your plot is lovely. With some treasures.
Thank you, I have been very lucky 🙂🌱

Thank you, your gardens sound amazing. Hopefully it’s all worth it when I get my first harvest 🌱🙂
Good luck with your new allotment.

That sounds fantastic. Glad you have been allocated a plot and now have more space to grow. As you say it’s a joy to spend time outside with nature 🙂🌱
Lovely size plot once it's strimmed down it won't seem so bad best of luck but most importantly enjoy don't let it become a chore 👍
Just subscribed as I can see this was 3 months ago probably well on the way now 🙄😄
Thank you for the kind words. I’m making slow progress but it’s beginning to take shape 🙂🌱
That fork should be a very useful tool. Your plot has a lot of gems on it.
Thank you, I have been very lucky with the plot. I hope to put the fork to good use 🙂🌱

Congratulations on the new plot. I think I will need to do the same and cover the remaining area. Good luck with the compost bins 🙂🌱

Thank you, it’s a nice place to retreat to 🌱

Thank you, slow and steady progress for now 🌱🙂
hi following from new Zealand
Hello 👋🌱🙂
Great video, I have subscribed and will be following your exciting journey. Ive got to say, my plot was way worse than yours ha! it just takes time to clear it all, which i still havnt finished ( i got my plot in April), but I am loving every minute! Im sure yours will look amazing soon!
Thanks for the sub, I think I actually got lucky, now some of the weeds are cleared it doesn’t seem so bad. Good luck with your plot 🌱
Are you allowed to have chickens? Rabbits? Quail?
Unfortunately not only crops 🙂🌱
The weeds don't look bad at all, which may be a bad sign, as it may indicate things find it difficult to grow? I wouldn't like to have all that rubble though. Not an expert, just my thoughts.
Thank you, it wasn’t too bad in the end. Agree I don’t like the rubble slowly trying to get rid of it 🙂🌱
Which area are you in?
Hi, the plot’s in the southeast UK 🙂🌱
@@growwithwill7841 well you’ve got a right old bargain in rental terms
Those pipes might be a polytunnel frame
Thank you, that’s a great suggestion I will need to take a closer look.
I waited 4 years!!! It's crazy how these sites are managed in my opinion
That’s a long time. It does seem unfair if there are vacant plots. Enjoying your videos 🙂🌱
