Watching Grubby's WC3 vids always makes me want to play WC3. Then I realize that this is even more micro intensive than starcraft and go back to watching lol
It is amazing how many players never adapt. This guy had what, 3k games? And most of them were probably following this specific meta strat of DH/BM mass DoTs. Not that orb DH and DoTs cannot fend off wyverns, but in a general sense this player did nothing to adapt to how you were playing.
Yeah I meant the general approach. Losing half your army by attacking into that many towers for example. Two ballista while protecting from the wyvern/bats would have been way cleaner. Yes, ballista are slow and generally not worth, but this is what I meant by reacting. Grubby spending that much wood on towers, the NE could have afforded to place two ballista there and keep his dots away from the towers. Or when the NE had kept his whole army other than DH near expo to get it up. Yes, he needed to because his main ran out, but DoT air form + like 2-3 hippos and he could have easily been more active on the map. Not that he needed to do anything specific, I just got the sense that he wasn't adjusting his play to how Grubby was playing at all. By all rights, he should have destroyed Grubby if he was a bit more active on the map and dealt with mass tower expos more cleanly.
Unless the player is very dynamic, he will usually stick to one default 'strat' and try to min-max other aspects of gameplay like map movement and micro to win rather than switch up units that maybe he is not comfortable using? Anyways he did very well at the beginning and was a fun game to watch

What would you have done? orbhunter/quirlmaster and dots are very good vs orc air
