RIP Warcraft 3. I'd genuinely hoped Refunded would have brought more interest in competitive WC3 and springboard it back into a position similar to DOTA and SC2. Never would I have thought it could kill both itself and whats left of the great WC3 game we had.
I dreamed of this. :) This is you at your best Grubby. Virtually all of your units were low on hit points and the ones who were least likely to die were still fighting. You even managed to use those ones who were at death's door to great effect.
such a sweet game to watch bro. you did a great job "not letting" him get metamorphosis. It would have been a whole different ballgame if he had his ult.
Hi Grubby, great game. Quick question, I'm an orc player and my hardest matchups are vs NE and HU. I noticed during this game, you ran around the map ensnaring his demon hunter and making him chase you until you felt you were in a comfortable position to take the fight. What parameters were you looking for in these situations to go ahead and begin the fight? Is the goal to make him pursue you while you get free damage from shockwave on the talons and then take the fight once he has taken sufficient damage and you haven't? Is it more to do with positioning on the map? A certain amount of food? Waiting for him to get out of position with one or more of his heroes? I would like to understand this as I believe playing this way could help me in my m/u vs NE instead of just barreling in and hoping to out micro with quick dispels. Thanks for always being helpful! edit: Also, is it ever worth it to bring a mana potion to the fight with you on your TC so that you can use it after being mana burned and get 1-2 fat shockwaves off after the opponent has used his heal scroll? I feel like it could be, but at the same time I also feel I usually need all of my gold to get as much food as I can in this m/u.
What an amzing game. Well played by both. Well, Grubby is Grubby but the NE player was also a tough one. Played better than a lot of pro players. If he had reached lvl 6 maybe he could have changed the game.
ensnaring at spawn, ensnaring enemy hero and actually dodging any enclosure with it to deny its dmg on a huge fight+keeping him ensnared, plus tilting the hell out of him "grrrr", I'm sure he felt it a few more times and that's why he gave up although he might have had a chance still if he did lock you in his expansion with no mana on Blade Master, he had the chance just didn't manage, you probs did something better there and thought about every move a LOT more. Very wp ;o I stayed for the whole thing, was great.
your channel is damn good my boy, I am watching in my spare time some videos and during this decade that I played, it has never been so dynamic(maybe because i'm a noob), very good, this match was very nice
that dodge of shockwave with talons having morphed into crows was awesome! I wonder why it isnt widely used on the pro level, Im sure they have micro for it. maybe because it drains too much mana, idk
Are you pressing "S" to stop your units at the beginning of an engagement and then surrounding/positioning and ending with the stop command when they are in position. Following with manual targetting of specific units to target the enemy's? Also does anyone have any advice for utilizing either CTRL+command for a subgroup within a control group (like if Grubby has his raider's and peons in the same group, let's say he wants to move peons back so he would tab in the group to target peon's then hold down CTRL and the command, OR he will just double click a peon and right click for positioning then stop command them)? I'm really trying to get into the habit of using attack instead of right click for targetting but I find it a hard habit to break. I also struggle with moving a specific unit or subgroup in a control group (like if UD - you have DK/fiends in same group so DK is automatically the subgroup targetted but you want to move your fiends back without affecting the DK... so you would either double click a fiend and move them like I mentioned earlier with the raider/peon example or you could just tab to fiend and CTRL+ command to make that subgroup do it). Sorry if this is confusing. I'm trying to get back into ladder after a 10+ year hiatus and things have changed. Any advice is appreciative.
I absolutely loved this game - at the start you made some nice plays then an unfortuante mistake with the grunt and I was thinking to myself where is this game going that it will turn out epic? Then as a commentator said it totally came down to the wire! I was on the edge of my seat for so long! It seemed to me with the expansion the Night Elf constantly had the upper hand in the sense he would win if you did nothing. A constant battle!
It seems like in this match up the burden is on the orc race. Isn't that you receive more exp. the higher tier you have from 1 to 3? The night elf is being aggressive right from the start, and the orc must make counter measures to deal with it, and it seems as though it must be done perfectly. The surrounds, the timing, the micro, most of every decision made by the orc race is basically dictated by the night elf. I think this is the reason most people rout for the orc players, cause that takes skill. Not many people can pull it off, but you grubby, are one of the best. Not only in micro but in creative strategy. Very impressive. Ohyeah! I've seen this one korean player do something very interesting when he had the lead. He bought a tome of retraining for the blademaster, and went crit and mirror image. I don't know how well that fairs for professional players but I would like to hear you're input on that little change in strategy. haha.
Perfect NE counter by Orc, but destroy expansion, I don't think it was wise going for main base instead, he had trees defending and moon wells! You had no gold, so important getting his exp then...
At 26:15 the elf made a very bad decision to move out into a terrible position. What I think of the game? This matchup has always been a joke and it takes tremendous skill to win as orc (or heavy mistakes by the oppoent). So I really endorse every single orc win. WP!
Yes, the races are not equally balanced. This is only compensated by player skill (or lack of). Grubby has incredible talent. Human and NE are the 2 strongest races, it is hard to say which one is best - in the mirror human usually has the advantage in shorter games and NE in super long games. Watch th000 vs Moon bo5 for epic showdowns!
The game is very balanced IMO, there are just some hard match-ups such as NE vs orc. If you look through the history of the game every race has won championships and there has been periods where each race was considered the best(even undead when Ted was a good player), I think this is a testimonial to how well balanced the overall game is.
As an undead semi-pro (retired) player myself I closely followed Ted and Lucifer. Even at their prime they weren't seem to be performing well as the other races. UD was and will be always the bottom race. Orc always struggles against human and elf at a high enough level (which doesn't mean that a few exceptionally good orc players can't break the matchup, but in my eyes that is rather an exception). Noone could beat Moon or Sky in their prime too, so the Ted argument is not strong enough to convince me. The overall game is not balanced, Blizzard has been infamous of balance in all their (older) games. Starcraft 1 was probably their most balanced game. Also consider the heavy RNG like item drops (which can be exploited with AOW creeping or BM solo creeping etc) and how certain warcraft maps heavily favour certain races. It's the opposite of balanced, both map-wise and race-wise.
Nice game ;) You and Tod brought me back to WC3, was wondering whether you had a place where I could get some replays for analysing NE playstyle? Kind of want to try them (again). Also, why did he only do talons? I get that a couple of them are nice for cc and fireflies, but why only talons, and occasional faeries? Wouldn't some dps stuff be helpful?
(my personal opinion and probably not accurate but) I think to stay at a 50 food army it's more beneficial to mass talons rather than a couple bears which would decrease talons by at least 8-10. and would also be focused and killed quickly. elf also needs all the mana they can get considering orc can dispell cyclone with walkers. now every scenario is different so maybe a fast expansion would allow for a more diverse army, considering going talons is more resourceful. I would like to see 5 bears in that talon army, maybe with 3 dryads and see how that fares.
Razzor Man, i could beat him 1v1 easy but he was training hard and when i returened back to WC3 after some WOW play he killed me so hard that i stoped playing WC3. Now he can play Grubby and give him a hard game
why didnt you get an expansion to continue churning out units? i understand you had pillage but towards the end you didnt have any units left to be making gold from attacking
Esto era un dota boludo que onda, muy pero que muy buena partida loco, y decir que hay tipos asi jugando al war3...yo veo a un tipo tan pesado como el elfo ese y me las re tomo a otra partida con algun manquito de nivel jajaja
I've noticed a trend with your "epic games". Essentially they are games where you make many mistakes, but still end up pulling off a victory or close to it.
I don't understand where does orc dps come from? If riders don't do much, besides they r melee, spirit walkers also don't do much, heros are under talons so who do damage?
Why isnt it worth it to go t3 as orc? Surviving the t2-elf-push shouldnt be that hard if u do a 1burrow-tech. Adding a Tinker as 3rd Hero should give you guaranteed dmg since u cant cyclone the factory. Maybe getting a pocked expansion with towers could be good. What are the con's of doing it?
Sniping => intentionally getting matched against smbdy you want to (by queuing at the same time as said person) Ghosting => watching smbdy's stream when you're playing against said person at least that's how I use it LUL
Such a hard game, what can I say except please watch it and let me know what you think in the comments.
FollowGrubby yes sir, will do
FollowGrubby I adore you. I think I'm in love with you.
Why not keep creeping in mid game and go bm dot hunting? less hectic
FollowGrubby why no catapult ?
I DONT BELIEVE IN FLYING SHEEPS. dude.....insane game.....this game is a ART why dont we fund this ?? :D
See kids! Money is not everything. Just have to be a WC3 god.
Grubby's typing skill is actually insane
I can type even faster, but not make coherent words
Literally his job
Remember used to watch Grubby back in 07' . Damn how time flies
Grubby's face is in constant state of PogChamp
4 minute Grubby shows he's an absolute master mind. Your gameplay is absolute masterpiece
25:56 epic dodge of Shockwave :O
That typing APM (and accuracy) LOL insane. I remember used to typing that way when I was young and more into gaming
"delay until later" grubby, king of orcs.
King of Warcraft 3.

Fantastic game Grubby, against a valiant oponent. You must feel tired after such intense game dont you

my two favorite races and my four favorite Heroes so far this looks like it's going to be the best

I love that you still play!
your channel is damn good my boy, I am watching in my spare time some videos and during this decade that I played, it has never been so dynamic(maybe because i'm a noob), very good, this match was very nice
That was awesome, I wish to see more these "late game hero only with pillage units" shenanigans. ;D
Great game!
But i had to laugh my ass off at 31:59 :D
The Sheep kill with the orc burrow hahaha
that dodge of shockwave with talons having morphed into crows was awesome! I wonder why it isnt widely used on the pro level, Im sure they have micro for it. maybe because it drains too much mana, idk
love the low econ games
11:27 Ups did i just lose ? Spirit:" yes!"
Think this is the best game that i have ever seen in your channel, Grubby. Keep going! Greetings.

great opponent I would say
So sick. Well played Grubby.

One mistake by orc and its game over, where as ne can play so mindlessly and not be punished
Do you mean that there is unbalanced races? Which is the more OP race?
Yes, the races are not equally balanced. This is only compensated by player skill (or lack of). Grubby has incredible talent. Human and NE are the 2 strongest races, it is hard to say which one is best - in the mirror human usually has the advantage in shorter games and NE in super long games.

2017 still love playing war III
I want to see more of Grubby microing his food.
dope Grubby good ish bro I loved this game so much u r the best player ever
Holy moley it just keeps going and going
32:01 why did you bother killing the flying sheep ?!
That is Grubby's signature.
That move won him the game sir
A lot of pros do it though, maybe not with flying sheep always though
There is a way to polymorph units (turn them into cute little animals) and an opponent can use them for vision
Can you polymorph your own units?
how do you move so fast i mean you are just presing butons and moving to the base to units back o base to hero you have binds ?
Yeey!!
PS: RIP Flying Sheep.
The craziest part is how long it took for NE to call gg when it was clearly over 20 mins ago.
All NE had to do was kill BM, and they got pretty close a couple of times - just not close enough
That's night elf dots for ya kill his army and hero 50 times, but make one mistake and you'll throw away the game lol
Why do you kill flying ship?
Because I don't believe flying ships. :D
Best victory stomp by TC lol!
Awesome win!
You should try pitlord first with splash, second TC with endurance + shaman vs su ud or ne
Love you grubby!!
Amazing game! A true masterpiece!

I don't even play this game I only like the keyboard and mouse clicks. XD
Grubby, i hope you're going to come back in warcraft 3 remastered or warcraft 4
the true war chief of the horde
damn, what a game brother, wp
Grubby u played ad start of WC3 - demo , where was just ORCS and FS? :D
Razzor Man, i could beat him 1v1 easy but he was training hard and when i returened back to WC3 after some WOW play he killed me so hard that i stoped playing WC3. Now he can play Grubby and give him a hard game
I fixed the aspect ratio of the video and now grubby is super skinny tall. 😂
The match was a rather let down. He kept tripping on his own units. Just cause someone is stubborn doesn't mean they are great.
u got a new suscriber bro
awesome game
Wich patch they're playing Warcraft Frozen throne in W3arena ???
How to make the arena extrawide like that? I had trying some way but it just stretching, not wider like that
stun>>>>shockwave
You should buy boots for tauren, make him go in mass and stomp everyone!
not in this match against 100 fragile talons
Pretty sure... you only have to click once to set a rally point :P
why didnt you get an expansion to continue churning out units? i understand you had pillage but towards the end you didnt have any units left to be making gold from attacking
Финал великолепный
Esto era un dota boludo que onda, muy pero que muy buena partida loco, y decir que hay tipos asi jugando al war3...yo veo a un tipo tan pesado como el elfo ese y me las re tomo a otra partida con algun manquito de nivel jajaja
Amazing
Epic battle
My favorite game
Do you get xp if u kill a Tauren Chieftain that has the lvl 6 reincarnation skill? Or do you only get xp if you "really" kill him?
Hypellokaga killing him with reinc is basically same as killing heros with ankh.. gotta "really" kill him xD
such a good game
Play with the night elfs please
DansGame
Whats ur average apm during this usually
where can I find warcraft match online? thanks
I've noticed a trend with your "epic games". Essentially they are games where you make many mistakes, but still end up pulling off a victory or close to it.
what to use vs NE Tauren or Shadow hunter?
wouldn't grubby have lost if the opponent just waited things out or build moon wells inside?
BM by the elf for the last 15 or so
nice game :)
that tc made the game
hero kills 14/1...Nelf is balanced
Man I feel like mana burn is just so anti fun #.# mana drain makes much more sense but...mana burn puts way too many spells in check.
I don't understand where does orc dps come from? If riders don't do much, besides they r melee, spirit walkers also don't do much, heros are under talons so who do damage?

why after i connect to battle net, then my war3 will be corrupted? Any suggestion to solve this problem?
14 hero kills, wow
Yes sniping and ghosting mean the same thing to me: nothing. Can someone explain them?
Sniping => intentionally getting matched against smbdy you want to (by queuing at the same time as said person)
Ghosting => watching smbdy's stream when you're playing against said person
at least that's how I use it LUL
Stream snipping usually leads to ghosting though, in most games that is, maybe warcraft 3 is the exception.
LUL thanks bud
Starting to watch someones stream after you queued into them is also commonly referd to as streamsniping
go go grubby!
why no boots on bm?
oh_you.jpg Grubby, you were NEVER behind or slightest close to lose. :(
Thought this was a real close game, meh.
Anyway, gg we still like you ♥
miss, miss, miss, miss :D
best one ever
what eating grubby?

can someone explain to me why creep camps are highlighted on the map , when i play i dont have that
look beside the minimap, theres an icon that looks like a tent with a magnifying glass on it. Toggle that icon and youll get the camps highlighted
Already figured, thanks anyway :)
Aaauuuff, best!
I think that druid of the talon are not that good :/.If he went dryad/bears from the start he could have won.
