P.S. while Modi Story was banned in college campuses and kids beaten up by right wing groups, Kerala story was peacefully aired in the very same college. So, saying there is no propagand looks too simplistic view of the issue.

What u failed to understand, there is a difference between religion and people, I saw on the trailer, Muslim guy saying if you have to sleep with them and make them pregnant then do it, in Islam it's forbidden to look at random women who is not ur wife or mom or sis and others within these relationships, let alone sleep with them. When I saw Islam is getting presented like this, it's a sad and false image. So first y'all need to separate Islam from terrorist culture this movie is portraying.

As a Pakistani, I was a victim as well. I was born as a Muslim, but I was not religious. I used to ask critical questions about religion. My mother then joined Islamic Organisation, Al-Huda, when I was just 11 years old. I was forced to wear hijab and chadar, which I literally hate it.
To cut it short. Now I have become agnostic.
As a film student, I agree with Shan that this film could become better if they have shown balanced screenplay with good cast like Khuda Ke Liye and My Name is Khan. In such sensitive topics, we need to highlight what real religion is and what people practice rather than showing radicalization, which Shan highlighted too.
Though I am agnostic but I have respect for all religions.

Not too much, I still remember, all this used to be release by ISIS a few years ago. I salute you for standing on reality, being NRI. @@arya5094 Kerala is one of the top 3 states in India with max number of Isis recruits and sleeper cells. There is rapid islamisation that is aided by govt in order to protect their vote bank. There are demographic changes.
Shah Rukh saifi got local help from malayalis for the recent train burning incident and i hope you remember professor Joseph being brutally attacked for alleged blasphemy. The ariyum malarum slogans raised by a kid. So many incidents can vouch for the fact that there is growing radicalisation in the state. I was blown away by the series "Caliphate" on Netflix , the way it dealt with the same theme set in Sweden n wondered when it would be made in Indian but sadly what we got is an amateur attempt to earn money through shock value. Throwing numbers like 32000 converted Indian women joining Isis which acc to un had at its peak a total membership of 40k, hiring incompetent actors and a screenplay so simplistic as if a 5th standard student is explaining grooming gangs to their juniors - it's just going to make the film look like a propaganda and help push the narrative of western media indirectly. Compare it even with the homegrown TKF, the treatment, the complex storyline, the nonlinear screenplay, the outstanding acting performances, which made it worthy of being showcased to international audience.

Some performances were a bit lacking which can be ignored as the story is gut wrenching. As a matter of fact the number of such love jihad cases are around 50,000 mentioned in the post credit scene. Why the figure is approximately correct? - coz not all of them went to syria but most of them are staying in India and dying a silent death

This movie is less about acting or screenplay but more about presenting the ugly truth before audience & it ll encourage other genuinely talented makers & actors to create such contents which addresses such real issues..🙄
And that's the reason I might let go of the below average casting & technicalities of movie making...
This was much needed subject & must have been a risky venture so 10/10 for showing the courage & would love to watch a movie based on "Ajmer case" but this time I ll expect a talented/experienced crew...😏

True but imagine the impact it would have if it was actually a well made movie with much better dialogue execution and acting !! The viewing experience would be much more elevated. Films like Rang De Basanti or Kashmir Files had such a massive impact on audience because of effective storytelling and performances. If one is making a film on a true incident, I feel makers need to treat the subject more responsibly

    • @runali4065
      @runali4065 Рік тому

@@asp11177 I agree & we can recommend such type of movies to international audiences without any hesitation but one need to understand movies like Rang de Basnati & TKF had massive impact because the former one was star studded with big budget & the later one even if didn't have huge budget it managed to impress us due to national award winning actors(For which one either has to have money or good networking to hire such legendary actors) So both had massive impact...
So I am impressed despite having lack of Massive budget & absence of such renowned actors TKS team did put active effort to push the story & not to forget the constant treats they are facing right now, despite all that they were hell bent to release the movie...
So for once let's js forget the cinematic experience & focus on the real issues this movie is trying to tell...
Story is a story even if the storyteller is not so good at narrating it since it's based on true incidents I ll respect that effort Otherwise we do have really good story tellers who are so good at lying with movies like "Shikara" which is not the truth...
Sorry for the essay but I think if we can excuse & watch cringe Bollywood movies then what's the harm in watching this movie for awareness...😌✌️👋

The Days Passed By I Started Ignoring The Radical Groups ( They Are Very Large in Number To Be Honest )

This is my BIGGEST issue with movies that focuses on Hindu issues. None of the big film makers in Bollywood who are Hindu in real life like Bhansali or Sekhar Kapur don't want to be involved in such topics for fear of being "cancelled". Instead we have below average film makers handling such sensitive topics and as you said makes a "kichidi" of it.

It's only since 2014 that significant changes have come.. People have realised that there are economic incentives and similar markets for such movies..
Do you think movies like Tanhaji, Kashmir files, Kerala story would have been made before?

The movie is a text book on how cinematography should be done..how make up and stunts can be executed the girl abha has done a lot of body language variation chk her gait when she walks like a pregnant women also the messaging is so clear and yet the director has kept it entertaining ao in all the impact of the film is great absolutely as it throwa up many questions like why we hindus dont talk anout the glory of our religion with our kids?

I think the issue this movie raises is absolutely attention worthy, at the same time , I'd say that this movie is and will be used as a propaganda tool, and will be used to spread already widespread hate towards a particular community, at the same time putting up posters of osama bin laden at the campus of a nursing clg in a state in india(which is arguably the most progressive and peaceful state) gives clear red flag to the intention of the makers of this movie

I'm a Keralite, hindu staying in Malappuram. Here there is a dharka, for the yearly festival of 10 days, they will host a flag. This is kept in Zamoodiris temple. There is a temple and mosque nearby. Temple will contribute to Ramdan fasting rice sacks, the mosque will provide rice sacks for the temple festival.
When people walk to sabarimala Muslims provide water in front of a mosque for those Hindu devotees. Mosque has a big entry arch board, temple recently build nearby don't have place, so the mosque committee gave the half portion for the temple and half is mosque name.
Other minority people are getting converted to Hindusim as well. There is no such forced conversion to any religion over here.
Like all other parts of the world in Kerala also there are extremists in all religions, compared to all other states we have pretty less. If you try to convert any girls over here, our girls are literate, independent , bold , discriminatory. They won't just run and convert like fools. BJP want to take Kerala and spoil in the name of religion. All the hindus and BJP followers please to understand their propaganda. Don't let someone enslave you in the name of religion and politics. Other states Indians, please don't ask about all these to BJP followers. They even don't know what they are saying. Anthbhakth.

Hi Shan, can say this is the only review of yours I disagree with! Yes screenplay is not comparable to TKF but we need to understand who does the grooming and conversion? Isn’t it Muslims? Or is it people from some other community who do it? I know you have a considerable chunk of Muslims viewers where you won’t like to lose them too, but I will honestly disagree on this take, and yes most of people cried in cinema hall we went to and I talked to few Keralite girls and they said yes it infact happens like this and it’s no hate but it’s just touching the surface! Will wait for your other reviews!
