Very good. I had seen this ( or similar ) when i was in Yulin , Guangxi. Approx 2013. Not the exact people of course but this music. The people were playing just off on the side of a roadway in a busy area. I sweltering hot night. Mainly old people were attending and my Chinese friends marvelled that i enjoyed it so much. They also said to me many Chinese Mainly young Chinese were not interested. I thought it great as multiple string instruments and many players in the group. A lot of instruments. I am a big fan of this art and style as soon as i witnessed it and maybe the setting of rural China. I had no camera to video at the time which i deeply regretted. It is something i will never see again but it is clear in my memory.
I am happy that this video brings u back good memory of China when u were there. U r right, many young people don't have the patience to listen to this kind of traditional music, but it's wired that, when people are getting older here, they start to like these traditional musics again. I really enjoyed the atmosphere when i was recording, not just the music itself, but the people who played the music touched me. The place i visited is a very small town, most young people go to the big city to work and live out of this small town, these old guys are not belongs to some specific local bands, but just so random retired people from the same community , come together, and performanced together, to spend their daily retired lives. I am from Shenzhen, and welcome to China again.
