Who would have thought that sharing an instructional video of Albert's B-bender technique would make someone so happy 10 years later. Cheers from Greece.
What an absolute legend and master of his craft! Whenever I hear Albert Lee play the guitar, I feel like I am being given a gift upon which no value could possibly be placed.
Oh my O my !!, I have never come across this before, how Wow is that.. When I want to take a break & shut out the world, I shall listen to Albert playing this. It speaks to me of Peace & calm, God is in heaven, and all is well.! A great big Thankyou to Albert & the Band.!!
Now, this right here is a true master at work. We all know that Albert is a wizard at the fast stuff, chikin pickin and all. This, however, is a soulful playing of a wonderful song. This is an example of how a master musician, with style, feeling and beautiful technique can communicate emotion as well as melody. Albert makes it look deceptively easy, but I assure you it is not. Only when an artist is at one with his or her instrument (As Albert clearly is) can they freely express what they wish in such a fluent manner. Albert Lee was one of best that ever picked up a guitar, and he enriched the many lives he touched with his music. Just my 2 cents.
The bending during the solo is sublime. I've listened over the past year to Johnny Hiland - a lovely, diverse player taking on all genres. However, it's the 'feel' of Albert Lee and players like Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton that makes them stand alone.
Rockhard .... The shirt color matches his guitar. A plus for our attention span. I'm a mediocre guitarist, but I'm adopting this idea if i ever get to "on stage" status. How about with White Jeans ....
wunderschön!!! Albert Lee, hier noch mit der Fender - Telecaster SUPER SOUND, und das LIVE !! Ich habe ihn zwei mal LIVE gesehen, beide male absolute Spitze !!
Of course Albert must do his own thing !! but I personally hear- so much & many more Beautiful & good vibes comin' out of his old Tele... I think he got fed-up with the bender changing his technique ! ( he could always lock it ) But , what a lovely plummy sound on this !! wonderful stuff.
what Ive gathered is thatAlbert L doesnt use overdrive pedals much..., its like soo cool with kinda samish with an artist Eric Gales: the gain is the volume (quality) more than the endless sustain, or breakup sound/tone
That B bender breaks my heart. Just beautiful
I am 80 and this rendition really touches my heart, the most favourite beautiful melody of my life, Albert your guitar skills are supreme x

It's easy to see who Vince Gill's main guitar influence is.....even moreso in the ballad approach than the shredding....
Ka mo te wehi

Less overdrive lets you use richer and more dissonant chords like a piano player. It certainly helps with this music genre.
Is that Sterling Biffball on bass?
yes, it is Sterling.
