So what, you just not feeling it because he's not fucking yelling his bars??? This song alone is better the 95% or more of the so called "rap" out there now.
@@nickclark6236 you seem really upset at my personal opinion man lmao
The song wasn't meant to be a bop, but simply an expression of his rapping capabilities.
yup. Especially when you recognize other contemporary rap hits in his song, making other rappers tone and words even better, using humor. Living proof that rap god does exist.
The Rap God
I remembered this little fact but I googled it just to be sure before typing this.
With 1,560 words, the song entered the Guinness World Records as the hit single that contains the most words.
The song was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance but lost to "I" by Kendrick Lamar.
@@cole0889 then there you go
It's stilla bop tho
Narrator: "He in fact did not say skibidi"
Captions
Skibidi baps? 😂😂😂😂
True. He said slippity gippity
Bro has subtitles on too and asked that. Gen Z is so cooked man
@@DerekBrown-pg6bw it's actually flippity dippity-hippity.
I think because you’re younger, which isn’t an insult it’s just a fact, you can’t recognize the insane amount of references, jokes, & disses crammed in those few minutes. Not to mention the amount of double & triple entendres where words/phases have several meanings. I noticed you’re more commenting on the sounds like beat, tempo, melody, his voice, etc & this song wasn’t meant to be a catchy top hits bop but to demonstrate he is… the Rap God.
But the beat matters, the tone and flow of voice matters. Music is meant to sound good. You shouldn't have to pull up the lyrics to enjoy it. You shouldn't have to even speak the same language. Music is something you feel, not something you think about, so I think it's perfectly fine to judge it like that. Instead this guy gets a bunch of people in the comments shitting on him for 'not getting it', and saying 'You can tell these young kids only listen to how the song sounds.' (not saying you are one of them, but just look at all the other comments.) Understanding the lyrics should enhance a song, they shouldn't be a requirement to enjoy it. If you look at the lyrics alone, they may be really impressive, but if you look at the whole, the beat, the tone of his voice/flow and the hook, Rap God is a bit underwhelming compared to some of his older stuff.
@@BlazertronGamesI think you need to sit down and STFU. You wrote a whole load of shit that we had to unfortunately read and now we are here with you getting admonished for speaking on things that you just must not. Sit.
@@BlazertronGamesdoesn’t apply to everything, some songs are meant for lyrics, some for the beat and some for melody. You’re not going to tell me mumble rap is listened to because of its lyrics the same way this song isnt listened to cuz if its melody. i like verticle though he keeps it real which I can respect
Word bro..
I'm like 13 and this dude is 27 and I understand better than him
Maybe the first time in history someone has called Rap God "mid" 🤣🤣🤣
tbf its kind of Mid. Em doesnt suit the beat at all, he has some cool rhymes but nothing that stand out, its all flow and cadence but the substance is what makes him
@@BigChilleha gotta learn to read if you think there's no substance lol
@@BigChilleha”nothing that stands out” the whole song was a homage to rap
It was also the first time Em tried that more modern 2010s trap hip-hop aesthetic. There were other great songs off MMLP2 that fit the aesthetic, but Rap God was the only hit. so we should thank this song for every other great post-MMLP2 track that came out since because Rap God showed him the way.
@@wolowolo6179 tbh i dont think he fits the sound nor do i rate MMLP2. Baby, Groundhogs Day and Dont Front were all better and more complete songs than the majority of the album. Brainless was great. Em is closer to Griselda beats than trap beats. he already alot, the beats should simple
I think his point was using every rap style, because, Rap God. He also told the story of his career basically.
5:51
Bro say it sounds weak, the amount of skill to do those multi syllable rhyme scheme at that speed is is actually insane!
He doesn’t get the complexities of what Em was doing
It's ok to dislike an Eminem song and be a fan. It sounds mid to him it's an opinion. I'm not the biggest fan of this song or when he raps like this
this is my least favorite eminem song . Its a headache listening to this
Ppl that don't like this song just don't like to have 2 use the one brain cell they have. Get more then one brain cell and u would enjoy it because ur brain won't be under so much stress
@@XvKJP2015 I'm just saying that the part he said was weak was actually hard to replicate for any artist. As for liking it, music is subjective, that part depends on the listener
You can tell these young kids just listen to how the song sounds. The bars he drops on this song are nuts. The doubles and triples are insane. That’s what makes him the God
I remember this song taking me quite a few listens to really understand it, but as a reactor on UA-cam you’d atleast expect him to pause every now and then and try to understand the build up.
Tbf, it's a hard song to follow. I remember back when this dropped MOST people were just like "HE GOES SO FAST!!" And only those who really listened to the bars heard them or caught them. It's not a generational difference, but a difference in how people listen to music. That just varies on personality and preference.
When I heard it the first time (I'm Italian and I was a kid) I didn't understand shit but liked it cuz it sounded dope 😅
It’s not a generational or age thing. It’s just how people like listening to music.
If it was a shit song with good lyrics it wouldn’t be that good though
Saying you don’t like a song is a million times better than faking it for the reaction. Always keep it genuine.
I didn't love this song when it first came out but then after a couple more listens I realized how many hidden layers of wordplay and references were there. This is a technical display or raw ability. This is also an incredible beat to rap on.
There is context from the time that's needed for this song to really get it. The short of it is: Eminem had been quiet for a while so people were saying he'd dropped off. That's the whole point of the beginning being quieter then he goes in hard, like "yeah I was quiet doesn't mean I can't go hard." The second thing is knowing the big rappers of the time. He's imitating their flow styles -perfectly-. You kind of recognized it at one point saying "I've never heard Eminem use this flow before." Cuz it wasn't one he'd use, he was showing he can do what everyone else was doing, but they can't do what he's doing.
I appreciate you saying if you think a song is underwhelming rather than faking it 👍🏻
Unfortunately he never got it. I'm guessing he's more mumble rap maybe considering he never caught the whole meaning? Or he just doesn't give a shit and wants money from the sheep. He didn't catch even close to half of the lyrics. Sheep keep feeding so why not just bs your way through reactions as most reactors do. If you're good at it and it makes you money may as well do it yeah?
It's react meta, all he does is fake. Not his first time listening to the song.
@@vansitcodarring8855then why watch if u think all of his reactions are fake lmao
@@Chaos_IsMyGift Nah, he just doesn't feel it. It ISNT a bop lol
100% agree
Em's articulation is bar none. His breath control and lyrics are the best! Go to the breakdown of this song's rhyme scheme, and you'll see his pen is unmatched.
I can rap this
“STAY WIDE AWAKE” WITH RHYME SCHEME LYRICS
💯 I just recommended this one as well, he'll love it.
He's already done stay qide awake but without the rhyme scheme video iirc
6:27 Bro had an eargasim
"Why did this ish all of a sudden just turn in to the best ish I've ever heard?" as Em starts making fun of Soulja Boy lol
The amazing irony of that bridge being "the best thing i ever heard" when the whole thing was a satire to make fun of the young generation that focuses on beats and doesn't have a true understanding of what real hip hop is...lmao.
Little gay-lookin' boy
So gay, I can barely say it with a straight face, lookin' boy
@@VERTICILEIdk if you understand how HUGE this part of the song was when it came out. It inspired a whole ass online challenge called the "Looking Boy challenge". It's worth looking up.
Yep! lol
@@VERTICILE man you're a posser. You don't know nothing bout rap. you would'nt able to write a song like Rap God...
Rain man
I remember the first time i heard this. We were amazed at the number of disses and accolades, double and triple entendres. He used every style to show he could do whatever he wanted and it was awesome. He gave props to other artist who paved the way and were, in their own ways, Rap Gods for all of hip hop and rap music.
If you know his music, you know if hes quiet at any point its because je eas building up to a big peak. You just had to be patient and wait for it. Sometimes you het a few peaks and you feel like you just got off an emotional rollercoaster you just want to get back on again. Eminem is def a Rap God.
Well said it’s needs to be listened at least 50 times.
*Bobs head. Keeps Bobbing Head. Never stops bobbing head.*
I'm not feeling this song
*resumes bobbing head.*
Mmmhmmmm! 😂
Him: reacting
Chat: YAP GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is also a retro throwback to an 80s movie called Max Headroom
9:54 bros def got someone under his desk giving him the hoover special
🤣😂🤣 I was gonna say the same!
1,560 words in 6 minutes and 3 seconds.
This song is underrated. Yes, I realize it has over a billion views. There's a lot more there than "hurr durr rap man goes fast".
Didn’t like the song at first when it came out, but it grew on me because it’s a throwback song to early rappers and Max Headroom. That JJ Fad fast rap part was a great tribute.
Eminem's older songs where he talks about committing stuff like Arson, Domestic Abuse, Kidnapping, etc are done from the perspective of Slim Shady, who's purely a character and NOT Eminem himself (like the difference between Keith Lemon and Leigh Francis). This particular song saying "if I can't batter the women, how am I supposed to bake them a cake then?" is actually a shot at Chris Brown - something Anthony Vincent (10 Second Songs) took even further in his video "Rap God sung in 40 styles", when he sung THAT part of the song in the style of Chris Brown.
explained perfectly
Eminem is rap boy and slim shady is an evil clone of him and rap boy is a rap god like fast stuff etc and slim shady is more bad stuff
Imma describe slim in one word, “MENACE”
It’s okay, you aren’t ready for this song yet. It will fly over your head when you don’t have proper Eminem ears. You won’t agree with this until one day you’ll go back & listen to this and it will blow your mind. The constant entendres & references in this is enough to blow your head off
Honestly…
the guy did not catch a single bar through out the whole song and acts like it's mid
To be honest, this song is more a lyrical flex than anything. If you aren't analyzing the bars and just going based on how it sounds (which he mostly does) then I can see why he would call it a bit mid. It is not a song I would show to someone to try to get them hooked on Eminem for sure.
@@JathraDH I had never heard of Eminem before 2023 I started with this one
@@RoseQuartz692 Did you like the song?
@@JathraDH I listened to it 2K+ minutes last year and it was the only song I listened to for a month and it was my favorite song of Eminem until Houdini now it's 2nd
@@JathraDH or if they even share 1st place
this is one of the songs where a lyrical breakdown shows tells you the story of the song it is em flexing the pen and the rap to show what level he is on technically
he owns the world record for the most words spoken in 6.2s, 1,560 words in 6 minutes and 4 seconds
This song is literally a masterpiece, idc if he’s not on the beat at some points. This song and Eminem will go down in history
Rap god is the kind of song that is one of the best in the entire genre, but it won't feel so in the first listen. When it grows on you, you'll realise the missed thousand bars and impeccable flow switches, proving that actually initial part is the craziest.
I love your genuine hype to these eminem reactions, quickly becoming one of my favorite reaction channels in general
Dude here said MID, another youngling wet behind the ears that doesn't like to think a little. BARS are flying over his head like bullets.
Did you ever finish the video?
He's a genuine reactor. Being honest. I appreciate his honesty...
Calls it mid
Literally 2 seconds later it’s the best thing he’s ever heard 😂😂😂
Em also showed he can rap to any style of rap, He can switch his flow to any style and still make it sound decent. "Rap God"
The way he keeps changing his flow and his enunciation is perfection.
I've gotta check if he's listened to "till i collapse"
If not, that's fcking crazy
He didn't, he's gonna do a full album reaction to TES on patreon and eventually it'll be on yt I think
This was a Guinness world record before Godzilla
He just flexing his lyrical abilities
It's more, hard technical song, who is listening and makes surgery on song it blows their mind. But for people who like more just enjoying song, not very technical just where sounds good, for those is mid. So I understand. Love the hook here
6:25 bro came 😭 🙏🏻
Ikr! 🤣😂🤣
😂
That moan tho 😂
I cracked up the sudden pause with the Casio keyboard default setting "why'd it turn into the best thing ive ever heard" LMAOOO
I ain't trying to be rude but bro you missed literally 50+ double speak double meaning lines before you stopped the vid. And I'm not blaming you because almost everyone misses them, including myself.
I've never seen someone bob their head so much to something they called "mid." I'm honestly baffled, but know I shouldn't be with GenZ in the title... LMFFFAAAOOO
He doesnt just throw out syllables, he does it in a way that still makes them different words, if anyone else tried it would be a spoonful of word pudding.
The way this song drops the speed bar is like edging for days and finally releasing
Dude you’re literally a breath of fresh air! I love to see it. Keep doing your thing I’m watched all of your video.
A lot of us Stans seriously think Em would be a Serial Killer in real life if not for RAP. I think that's why he says what he says to get the release from those thoughts before he turns into Dexter and does start chopping people up and doing, God only knows to the corpses!
0:54 "DID HE JUST SAY SKIBIDI??????" HELP?? LMAO.
When he’s rapping he’s in character. He isn’t homophobic or a wife beater. He’s a living legend.
bro said I'm not feeling it the song has literally 1 billion views 😂
This Song is more like a flex of his capability, not meant to be a bop for everyone but literally proves the titles song and how damn versatile this guy is.
🎵🎵Yap god yap god you’re beginning to feel like a yap god 🎵 🎵

Hey, Verticle. I just met you today. This song is about the crossroads. Mr. Mathers' is explicitly stating what he did to become famous. He has talked about the crossroads numerous times.

"I sold my soul to the Devil and I won't ever get it back" - Marshall Mathers
There are two paths you can go by, but in the long run, there's still time to change the road you're on.
Wutface, I so damn agree with you, and thanks for writing a whole essay on this shit
He wrote the song for the critics who said that he was too old and not relevant anymore. He actually performed this song live when he was inducted into the Rock and roll Hall of Fame at 52. It was his way of telling them that they're amateurs compared to him even though he's older. I love the last line
"why be a king when you can be a God"
Thats funny u call it mid , and at the same time this is one of my favs if his!! Oh well we cant all love the same stuff.
Something we have to remember about this song is he walked into the studio and freestyled the whole 6 minutes in one take and was done.

4:10 AWWWW!! HE ABOUT TO FIND OUT WHY EMINEM IS IN GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS!
I appreciate the honesty. I think Em' sounding almost bored during the first part of the track makes the second part hit harder. It's like... well this is what a technical masterpiece looks like. It's kinda boring. Then here's some other crazy shit I can do now that I'm more experienced. I dunno. That's just my take. I do appreciate that this isn't exactly something you could have on at a party, but I don't think that's the point.
Rap God is not meant to be a bop, its meant to showcase his rap skills
YO BRO YOU ALR 19K??? w content
“I'm the walkin' dead, but I'm just a talkin' head, a zombie (cause I’m be) floatin” a reference to Walking Dead episode of heads in fish tanks, immortal like a god “Talking head” a new wave band. The layers to these rhymes. ❤ 🔥
its FUCK good
Genius. No one skips parts of this song. It's one big ride. Still one of my favourites after all these years.
W reaction. These are one of those songs that em dropped that are really vulgar displays of talent and skill. Like why there are so many damn snares in the song beats me but I liked it, even though I was still just a little kid back when it first released and didn't get the hype except for the fast part.
But nowadays I can appreciate it for its insane rhyme scheme and other wordly lyricism. I like that you keep your reactions unique and stuff, and you're true with your opinions, keep it up 👍
"Rap God is mid" literally 2 minutes later has an eargasm.
Eminem actually freestyled this whole song in one sitting
He was trolling lol
He also said he dreamt this song... do you take everything he says literally?
He wraps in almost every type of cadence rap offers.
Sooooo many double and triple meanings.
You def shouldn't do reactions while streaming with so much people, you're not listening and reading the lyrics, you're reading the chat. Never seen you so disconnected from what was happening and said. Don't fake it but don't fail it either. Mid reaction at best.
You know what’s crazy? This was all freestyled. 😭
This song hit hard when it came out and you'd have to listen to it back in the day to appreciate it. I also find Rap God outdated it truly hasn't aged well but as a product of it's time it will always be iconic
I’m still waiting for Kim. Please please please do Kim!
Can you get away with reacting to “Kim” and staying monetized? Serious question.
That song is…well, something else. It’s more an expression of a nightmare on a mic.
I have been waiting for you to get to Rap God!!
Calling this mid is wild. Bars went over your head . You didn't connect anything during the whole reaction
If i’m not feeling the song, I don’t catch bars. Lyrics can’t make up for the way a song sounds to me.

Thank god he has your condescension to help him out 🙏
He's doing too much Em in a row and he was listening to this while streaming. Im not defending him coz I think he's a bit empty. You can see he cant catch a lot of the bars and got distracted by chat too. But understanding and dissecting Em's songs is not something you can easily hear one time. Especially songs like Rap God. DOnt act like you do, bro
This kid cant recognize name drop and they're rap legends. He's also a fan of mumble rap. SO...yea. Let's hope he understands eventually. IDK how many time my mind got blown when I finally get the wordplays (Im not native english speaker)
And hey. at least he's honest. I respect that
Note: Holy shit. its been a decade and I just understood the trip a broad lyric LMAO case in point
I can recognize wordplay and skill and I will give credit where it's due. However, for me when I'm listening to music, the actual *sound* will always come first. This is why very early on in my Eminem journey, I said I disliked "90s rap" because I felt it's mainly focused on lyrics and wordplay over a beat that doesn't interest me, with delivery that doesn't hook me. If the actual sound of a song doesn't keep me hooked, then I can't bring myself to start dissecting lyrics to try and convince myself that I like the song.
This is why Eminem shocked me, because he has it ALL. His production, delivery, flows, and penmanship are all equally amazing. HOWEVER, on this song, I just didn't get pulled into it like I did his other music. It has nothing to do with me streaming or being distracted. Matter of fact I started catching bars after Eminem started rapping a bit faster and producing more flows that hit my ear in all the right places. Do with that what you will. Also this is from my very first livestream, every stream since then I've closed chat during reactions and also turned off the alerts. I'm just getting started guys, cut me a bit of slack

@@VERTICILEyou can ignore the hating idiots bc there will be haters on the internet no matter what. Don’t waste your time on them bc if you give them attention it fuels them. Keep doing you bc most of us appreciate your genuine reaction and not pretending you should love everything that people request bc you can have your favorite artist ever still drop music u won’t like and people will act like you should love everything an artist puts out. I just appreciate u not faking reactions
Honestly love the Max Headroom thing in this music video
With all these Eminem reactions you've been doing I hope you don't become a right wing political channel and start listening to Tom macdonald or something, like many before you have already. 😅
Edit: no offense to right wingers, that's just how it be on here
someone actually donated me $100 during a stream to never ever listen to ronald macdonald... so unless someone tops it I doubt it'll happen lmao
@@VERTICILE boy if I could I'd pay you a 1000 dollars not to listen i would. Just don't fall down that white rapper rabbit hole and keep your reactions authentic like usual lol
