- This intimate fan performance of Taylor Swift's new song, "New Year's Day" from her album "Reputation" was filmed in October in the living room of her Rhode Island home. One hundred fans, who were picked by Swift herself, were in the audience.
Swift invited fans to join her for special early listening parties called “secret sessions” to get an exclusive first listen of her new music before its public release. During the sessions, Swift personally walked her fans through the inspiration and the process behind making each song.

sweta bhandari no she definitely changed. In a good way though, she matured and grew up, and her music style evolved.
In the Eras tour, she thanked fans for sticking with her and allowing her to experiment genres. Reputation was dark and different - and while not as "wholesome" as her other music, its ok for her as an artist to try things. I just listened to a 13 year old version of Long Live, and THANK GOODNESS she has changed by getting stronger since 2009. Go back and watch concert clips from Fearless and you can tell how much she has matured and improved!!! Since this comment she's had 1989 and the Pandemic albums - so you can definitely say she has changed... but still awesome and getting better!
Every time I hear the "Please don't ever become a stranger/ Whose laugh I could recognize anywhere" line, I'm instantly reminded of this line from Enchanted "Please don't be in love with someone else/ Please don't have somebody waiting on you".

Just now accidentally discovering this song in early 2020... I was working on finances at the Dining Room table and had the Reputation stadium tour playing on Netflix in the background in the Family Room... This song came on close to the end of her setlist and I remember suddenly pausing and listening to how soft and lovely the piano melody was... I stopped what I was doing and went into the other room, sat on the couch and just watched in awe how she had an entire stadium in ambiance of this beautiful song. It's now a new favorite. I just love how near and dear to the heart it is
So wonderful how you stopped what you were doing to find out what song was playing. (-: this song does that to me, as well! A wave of peacefulness washes over me as I reflect on my existence in this world. I always come back to it especially at the end of the year.

This song is trash compared to her early ones, but why are you guys comparing her vocally? Her vocals are mediocre, but you are overlooking her lyrics. Again, not this song, but a majority of the other ones. And as harsh it may sound, music industry is evolving, for many (including me) it results to generic performance, Taylor's is quite above average, when it comes to her songwriting.
Thekillermatic Taylor's songwriting is average, she doesn't write/sing songs about REAL world problems like racism, inequality (ex) and relies on repetition way too much. Her lyrics aren't hard hitting and they're plain if you read it with an adult mind. All those legends that I have mentioned have written about racism (Mariah and Michael) inequality (Madonna and Whitney) and abuse (Mariah and Aretha)
The industry is evolving into a world where the artist are afraid to write about real world stuff now

I've been a huge, H U G E fan of Taylor Swift (we're all are) for a long time but, I've never gone to one of concerts before nor ever met her in person. One of my goals in my life is to at least see her in person on a stage or what, even if she doesn't notice me...Been watching/listening to live concerts, performances, fan meetings, surprises from her, etc. on UA-cam and I cry for some reason.. As for her character she is an amazing, caring, kind-hearted person (etc), her songs gives me emotional feelings but some other songs gives joyful vibe to my life. This album is a masterpiece. To me 1989 was better lyrically but reputation is her *most* private, personal and intimate album ever. The bridges are pure perfection. And the music feels so nostalgic and yet so futuristic. Thank you Taylor for bringing another piece of unique art into our lives and outdoing yourself again ❤️
palemoonlight96 I respectfully disagree. Of all songs out of Reputation, this is the only one I've liked. Gorgeous has unattractive lyrics about having a crush, LWYMMD was sloppy lyrically and sonically, ...Ready For It? felt unfinished and unedited and CIWYW didn't have anything sonically appealing to me. I know I'll like something out of Reputation (I've listened to every album since Fearless and I like a lot of her songs), but right now I'm dreading this album. Waiting if at midnight I'll change my opinion.
José Mário Jr. I absolutely adored Gorgeous because it reminded me of previous songs. 1989 was absolutely incredibly and this album is so different that it's hard to say that but the more you listen the better it gets.
Both 1989 and Reputation aren't very good. Red is still her best album to date, yes, even lyrically.
WATCH TAEYANG - EYES NOSE LIPS I like how Red sounds better than its lyrical content. I think except some key songs (The Last Time, Begin Again, Treacherous, All Too Well), I've seen lyrics alike or even better constructed than Red. I personally prefer 1989's subtle songwriting better. But sonically, Speak Now is the best, no doubts about it.

This has been recommended to me again after their breakup a year ago. Her smile, her sparkling eyes, and her optimism for Joe at that time, I can see it all in the video. My heart aches every time I come back to this kind of moment. I know it's not my business at all, but as someone who has been a fan since Rep Era, where Joe started to accompanied her, their breakup feels so personal. I thought she finally found love now that she has a man who had inspired her to write a ton of songs about him. I thought if she could find the one after all the shitty guys she had been around, maybe I can find one too. But then they broke up and I've questioned if love ever truly exist in this world. Because even the pair that had been through hell and heaven together can be separated in the end. "Why though? Was it truly just because the marriage?" I love this song. It's so different from the whole album & anything she's done before, but at the same time it recalls the songwriting in Red, where you have a story-based writing and incredible, clever, emotional lyrics. But the sound here is more sophisticated, and the song structure sounds more mature and complex than all her previous ballads. It reminds me of Ingrid Michaelson and Sara Bareilles, both for the piano style and the lyrics. So good. So good. There's no other super popstar who can do what she does, and there's probably never been one. I'm so happy to see Taylor shine brighter than she ever did, maybe this is the right time for the world to acknowledge who she really is and what she is capable of.
