Also if you are a home owner trying to contract a build make sure you know a fair bit amount about construction otherwise the people you hire will do poor job and you won’t even know what a good job looks like. You have to know everything and be everything and rely on no one but yourself . If you have no construction experience and try to hire and build you will over pay on time and money, and you will have a poorly built home and most likely will have to down the road fix mistakes. That’s why having an experienced contractor who has many years experience is worth it because they are responsible for the entire build and if anything happens you call the contractor and then they call the sub trades guys to come back and fix. I’m a contractor and I hire professional plumbers and electricians and even those guys fuck up and I catch the mistakes the building inspectors don’t even catch the mistakes. Then I call the guys to come back. Realize that just because it’s a big quality company doesn’t mean they’re going to do a flawless job bevause these big companies have kids working for them . The boss / owner doesn’t show up and work with his hands. Actually if you can find owner who also works those are the best guys cause they work the fastest and best quality cause it’s their business on the line. It’s extremely difficult to build up your own crew of reliable trades guys who charge fair prices and are reliable. That takes years. If you aren’t trying to be a contractor for a living, I wouldn’t recommend doing your own build as an inexperienced home owner.

Building a home is definitely not for the inexperienced if you are looking to end up with a quality product on time.

Great points! We touch on many of these in the video. Quality control is a major component of the time it takes to manage a build, and yes, it starts with hiring good trades that we have an established relationship with
