I can't imagine the continuous anxiety living that life. Exhausting
Involvement in turf wars and the like is terrifying. Watching your friend go from standing, beer in hand. To slumping down into his chair then on to the floor isn't something you forget. It's like a hot iron burns it into your soul.
And it was only getting started.
It was always my dream to be a hells angel growing up. When I had the option to prospect I was 25 at that point, so 2 years ago, and I'm glad I took the time to think about it because I decided that wasent the direction I wanted my life to go in. I'm Happy I did because 6 months later I met the woman of my dreams, and now I have a son that is due any day now! I am so blessed

@@Edward.Rippett. happy for you Eddie. I thought about it and remembered I can barely ride a bike.
Old Man John and his cigar have invaded my families home many, many times. I was a kid. he was there because of my father. Dad and John were good friends too. My Dad's name was LACO Bob Lawrence. He was Los Angeles Chapter H.A. President in the late 60's - mid 70's. As a kid, I looked in awe at the bikes, even noticed the females & all the reds & wine. Our home was in Eagle Rock, our neighbors didn't know what to think. We had been there forever. I have great memories. Before H.A., my father was Pres. of the Knight Riders, if anyone remembers them. I wish I could talk to George Christie about those days. Take care all, ride safe & all that.

I have family in the Angels chapter 81 out of Durham NC & the life style they live is beyond crazy . Imagine the stories George can’t tell 🫡💯
I grew up hanging around George. He even went to my parents' wedding. Glad to see he's doing well.
George has helped many people. I am only one of many....

Mike Klimchuk a h.a associate kidnapped a woman and kid to try and get away from cops. He sold pills and hung with barely legal indigenous women and stole trailers and baskets from walmart. He accosted my gf in her sleep. He is a deviant.
He is a menace to society ! And should be put away for ever ! Even better put to sleep

Growing up in that era and reading or listening to GC. Brings back the good and bad times then. I've really enjoyed his books and look forward to many more. He was a true outlaw biker!
I don't know George and will not act like I do, but he is a man amongst men who has seen plenty in his life, career, and years as an MC member. That is what "Respect your elders" translates to. That being said, when he gives you advice, take it. No questions asked.
Same here, I don't know him personally and I'm not a biker but I these people are so interesting to listen with compelling lives
The Hells Angels is a group that has fascinated me recently and Motor Clubs in general, they have the most insane stories that end up being the funniest to the most horrible things. Rock on, everybody

Also George Christie: "Let me tell you a cool Mongrol/Hells Angel war story," as he grins ear to ear.
These guys took Sons of Anarchy WAY TOO seriously.
Mongols and Hells Angels was before SOA.
@@gmanzano89gm Was he telling the story before or after the series aired? These guys all go on the "podcast tour" and the stories grow farther and farther away from reality. What started out as a discussion over which beer the club was going to drink that night has now grown into the largest full scale biker war in recorded history. Next time the story is told, it will be the biggest War ever recorded.....even larger than the 2nd World War. With more casualties. And more Hot biker chicks. And more patches. And Harleys that are more powerful than ever......Stayed tuned for next years podcast tour when the bikers go into outer space and fight cyborg bikers and 3 headed aliens all while sewing on their 1% patches and french kissing the hottest Biker chicks in the universe. Just saying that these stories all grow with time. And strangely they all seem to follow SOA plotlines

Not being an MC member but all the things I've heard from George Christie he comes across as the smart one to have been the main leader /PRESIDENT. And would of been the one I would have wanted to be leader if I had ever joined . He is smart and calculates any situation. He realized it was better to be at peace with other clubs because the main enemy for ALL of them were the cops .And wasn't hot headed and jumping into situations.
In early 80's I tended bar at a dive bar outside of San Jose that was frequented by Hell's Angels from time to time. They were always good dudes.
I lived in San Jose for the first 30 years of my life. God I miss that place.
unless you owe them money...
Of course they are. Most of them are. Until people get stupid
Which Bar?
Except on Sunday when go to Bible study.
Old Man John's daughter lived across the street from me. When her dad passed she gave us stacks of his cigar boxes. She joined her dad and I miss her.
That's cool. You knew him. Sorry for the loss of friend.
I only met him once, but me and his daughter, Sheila, were buddies. Let me tell you, that woman could cook some great tasting food. George Christy talks about a time when Old Man John brought George to some other gangs clubhouse where John did some permanent damage to a guys face. That was because Sheila started dating a Humper and that was not allowed. Seriously...dating the HA president's daughter...he had it coming. Sheila I love you my friend

Two charming men!
1972 met Big Red of the HA Glendale Chapter in a parking lot (Bob's Big Boy I think). Gave him a bag of smoke, and he let a mama and a house mouse accompany me and my homie to our pad in San Diego (Ocean Beach). Straight-up solid dude.
Like the cool headed and fair response here GC has about his enemies. A lesser person would have held grudges.
Idk why I'm just kid from montreal but I feel like it'd be nice to talk to Jon idk weird feeling I'd chat with him feels welcoming

Reading his book currently, it's good to see what it's like to be an outlaw and how it can be so addictive to where you love it
id like to see phill cross do some interviews. his book about the gypsy joker war is way more interesting than these tired stories every one has heard. he was close to jethrow pettigrew and steve tausan, legendary angels. he was right there when the angels were hanging out with jimi hendrix, jannis, jefferson airplane, the doors etc.
George was there for all that too.
@@chuckgoldsmith3440 yeah, but no one has ever said any thing bad about phill cross, and he was more of a puncher than a talker. he was also in the club about 10 years earlier.

I got back from Vietnam 2/502 INF 101st Airborne, Team Sniper, first thing I did was to, get my Triumph back on the road. We spent close to 330 days in the A Shaw Vally AO.. I kept hearing from other club members how their club was at war with some other club .... they seemed to want numbers .... I had one other combat veteran friend who rode with me... After a couple parties with these guys, I realized they had no combat experience. I bought this old Pan and hated it! So I took my 64 Trump, put a 750 CC Kit on it, and "POSI FUEL" fuel injector on it with this new transistorized ignition. I could do a "ton", no problem and it was skinny, light ... plus I ran Dunlap K-81 80% profile tires... lowered it a full 2 Inches, banana seat and mustang tank.... Years later I bought a dresser so my wife could ride from Michigan to Florida with me...slow, but a Caddy on two wheels. I told the VP of that Angles Chapter, I already fought in one war .... and I knew what real war was about, personal kills.... so my buddy and I never went back, we just met up on the weekends as we both worked and split the white lines for years... I'm 74' now, Cancer got him (Agent Orange), those broken bones I had from Nam have stopped me from riding, even walking now....
Be safe.... face in the wind....

This is actually not true. Plenty of people who have been to war end up missing it. You have a clear purpose, you're part of a very clear tribe and you a very clear "other" that you must defeat. It fills all the needs in Maslows hierarchy and speaks to the most primal human instincts.

Great Stories the MC life is not for the faint at heart if your true to the culture there's nothing like it, minus the BS and some who just live to raise hell just because they can. MC4L
Stories about MC's are so compelling to me, not that I want to join, but to have an understanding and see how they carry themselves. They carry themselves with a lot of fucking pride for their club and they're respected for it and that's what so cool about them.

The biker counter culture is so fascinating to me. Very similar to the Italian Mob families. Tons of loyalty but lots of people with screws loose in their heads carrying loaded weapons.
I dont see any loyalty with The mafia families. They all only looked out for themself first and foremost. Biker culture atleast had brotherhood
They all rat on each other, there is no loyalty.
There is zero loyalty just like in the mob. It's all a front . Everyone backstabs everyone else to get along and make money with the misery of others. You will find a huge amount of human scum in these gangs and there is zero ethos. Don't fall for their marketing.

What's amusing is that I was never in a 'gang' but had turf fights like this back in the 70s and 80s in my home town: no weapons, around 100 vs 100 (unsure the number), north versus south, 3-2-1, and we charged...

I been to many hog parties, swap meets helped set them up and there are people claiming they are just ruthless and corrupt for the most part any MC is. But they all respect children and mothers and its a Hell No!! To kill or hit a woman, children. But yea I still have his colors and all his cuts on it.
