  • Damn.. This knife was insane. It is quite expensive but in our opinion worth it. It all depends how much money you'd like to spend on a knife but man this is just a piece of art combined with quality.
    It withstood all of our tests like a beast and is great for every task. Even small knife tasks are nice to do with this one.
    Batonning, destruction, firemaking. Clear clear clear.

    People! There may be a misunderstaning about our opinion on this knife because of the price.
    Because this knife is handmade and everything is handcrafted, the price is higher than factory knives.
    The D2 steel is the best it can be because of the heattreat and really genuinely amazed us with how good it performed!!
    If this knife was made in a factory it would be lower but the man makes everything himself so you get really get a piece of art.
    Cheers! We know this isn't a cheap knife but in our opinion completely worth it because of the quality and craftsmanship!

      Probably worth noting for next time just to acknowledge it in the video. Easy to trigger people when there is room to misinterpret what message you're trying to convey.
      Would really love a heat treat comparison video or small segment in a video. Show us a D2 or 1095 steel with a great handmade heat treat vs a "shitty" factory heat treat. Do some tests. You have handmade CPM 3V vs mass produced Cpm 3V. You've tested lots of knives surely you must know what difference it makes.

      @tacticalcenter8658 7 років тому +1

      agreed DBK. custom knives you are paying that person labor to make the knife. mass produced knives are going to be way cheaper. D2 is a good steel when heat treated properly in custom knives. also the price is not that expensive in comparison to other custom knives of this size. you can find some custom knives far cheaper by lesser known makers trying to make it in the knife making business, they may not be as good tho.
      great video guys. i would get this one if i had the money for it.

      Hi Buddha! Thanks for your response!
      The video's you make are hard video's to make because it will only interest a very small number of our audience and we don't find them very entertaining ourselves. BUT very soon we will be launching our website and we will be writing in dept detailed reviews on there for the people who would like to know all that kind of info! Hopefully we can make everybody happy that way including ourselves :D!
      Sometimes in the heat of filming we also forget to say or notice certain things. Hopefully you can understand!

      bloody hell guys, this is what the German speaking Chinese would probably call a "faux pas". I fully agree that a well made Leuku is one of the best, and most suitable bushcraft knives one could carry, there is a people living near Santa's home office that have developed this type of knife just for that purpose.
      But guys, please do not get me wrong; I generally enjoy your videos quite a lot.. but next time, do not make an entire video just an add for a ruddy expensive knife, new in the collection of knivesandtools (nevermind the fact that is my main supplier as well)
      Put it in a little more context, please!!!
      Or as we tend to say in Spain:
      "DOE EFFE NORMAAL, JOH!!!"

    I bought the knife years ago and it's just a SUPERB piece of craftsmanship.
    At the same time it looks very "archaic" and simple.
    As for the edge, this is also the SHARPEST knife in my collection.
    The steel is one of the finest knife steels and has great properties

    To people complaining about the exorbitant pricing, its actually quite simple.
    You arent paying for a knife, you are paying for art. The fact the knife is so riddiculously insanely good at its job is secondary. Thanks DBK for an insight to a knife that is now on my long term wishlist!

      TheStaniG I love this comment. I make knives as a hobby and a friend wanted a small simple folder, but that was all he gave me. Said it was a piece of my art to interpret how I want. That really took me back and made me think a bit.

    • @AG.Floats
      @AG.Floats 5 років тому +1

      Lmao riiiiiight....

    John Neeman is an amazing blacksmith. He was part of a larger group that originally had a company that used his last name as the companies name. They ended up splitting for creative differences. The other company is now called Northman’s guild. Both are amazing smiths and you can order directly from them and directly support them instead of a third party.
