- We cover a lot of knives... and you probably buy a lot of knives! But How many knives would you actually need? 1,2,3...4? We think these two knives are the ultimate set. Maybe the only knives one would ever need. Not only our thought but also proven by hundreds years of northern tradition. This is the knife set worn by Nordic (Sami) people. Leuku meaning literally: Big Knife and Puukko meaning small knife. These are made by Malanika in the godly Cru-Wear Steel. believe us.... it's legendary.

Hello everyone, be aware! A fake account is telling people they have won a price here in the comment section. It's fake!
I guessed it was fake but I can't help but feeling excited for a split second before seeing the whole comment 😂
@@BWORKZ_SouthWales yes! Especially because of Malanika. That would have been so f#€&ing great
@@Winnie_Grett yeah! It would have! I need these 2 knives in my life so bad but probably can't afford them! Lol ah well, a man can dream! Lol. I hope whoever it is pretending to be the DBK boys steps on a lego!
@@BWORKZ_SouthWales or 4 Lego 😂
@@Winnie_Grett 4 lego? I want them hurt not killed 😂
Proud on fellow Croatian Daniel!
Živio!
Proud of fellow Zagorec Daniel!
Great video again, thank you!
And as a Finnish person it warms my heart to see puukko and leuku in your video, traditional tools here in Finland and very much used in bushcrafting everyday.
I’m currently binge watching DBK videos to figure out which knife I should buy. I trust your opinions more than any seller by far 👍
Get the DBK knife.
I’m currently binge watching them because they make laugh… 🤣 These guys are hilarious. I bet they’d be fun to hang around with. 😃👍🏻
After buying many different knives, and different kinds of grind and steel, i would suggest you to get a flat ground knife.
The main task for a knife is still cutting!
The TRC "this is freedom" is a great choice. I ground my on sandpaper to a convex and now it works like a beast.
I went with Classic Freedom
Buy them all
I confirm that "octopussies" is the correct plural form for squids.
Whoever invented the Scandinavian knives , they made a tool to fit the job perfectly , after all those years still going strong. Love these knives .
Probably more than one person 😂
@@cster9261 For sure 🤣
The Scandinavians?
@@jez76 contrary to popular belief, the Australians invented it
Puukko and leuku are from Finland
Mickey going wild with these narrations haha I love them !
New subscriber….waited all week for this video….was not disappointed….lots of fun and gained some knowledge!
Just started the video and im already loving the slowmo cinematic shots. And the BGM too!
Now that’s a pretty dynamite duo
damn thats a nice pirate knive
@@Marc43666 You get away from me.
I’m not in the server anymore so stop bugging me
I have owned a bushcrafter in cruwear for a number of years, I’m so impressed I have just ordered a “hunter” I was going to get it in magnacut however Daniel said it needs more regular maintenance, I didn’t fancy it rusting so I stuck to cruwear
I'm trying a longer DBK knife in CPM Magnacut from Dulo knives. It's going to be made in 2023
11:00 Petition to get the boys a pair of slightly larger sitting pads, so Mikkie doesn't have to freeze his butt off anymore!
Love these Danes.. subbed
Malaika is probably my favorite knife company because of you guys
Just found you guys, great stuff so far 👍
Nice video thank you :)
Bro, I swear, I wanna move just to hang out with these guys.
I love always the outdoor kitchen😉😅💪🏻
Hello. I bought a Malanika Leuku on the strength of your earlier film. I had to wait months for it, but last week I finally had it in my hands and was able to use it, practically. It really is as awesome as you made out. Frankly, I don't think I would need another knife ... maybe a Mora for when the Leuku is too big. Making feather sticks to light the house stove was an absulute breeze.
A beautiful gift for someone! 😃
wow amazing malanikas,what a beauty.....
Those knives are wonderful.... and that Tempura sounded good....🙃
I was at the restaurant with my girlfriend and she felt really sleepy after eating. I told her that we should go home, but I was so happy because I saw that the new video came out and wanted to see it. :D
Ooookaaayyyyyy.
And then whaaat?
@@Winnie_Grett I saw the video, it was awesome.
@@TheNikola2910 really good time. Thats what its about.
There's your mistake bro. Never take a girl out to eat! Costs more and she gets sleepy. Take her out for drinks instead!
Good vid!
I've been using a Helle Harding pukko for 30+ years. (From U.S.A.)
I've used it very hard even battoning on occasion.
That big daddy knife needs to be in my hands. :-) ♡
Again a super Video! I love the cooking part very much! But why dont you bushcraft chairs and a table? 😜
The new camera investment really payed off. The shots are incredible. Like real life RDR2.
You guys should have a battle between the Malanika Leuku and the Modern Bowie to see which is the best survival knife
In my opinion, the combination of a Scandinavian Puukko and Leuku is the best solution for buscraft use. I'm amazed that this application is so rare in the bushcraft scene. I once asked the question about this in a german bushcraft forum. There was no reasonable answer. I think that very few people are aware of the corresponding utility, except for Scandinavia itself. Instead, people are usually fixated on a one piece option with a super grade steel.
Hello dbk. I would really love to see a comparison video on edge retention on all of the newest steels that you have tested.
Before watching you guys i knew so little about knives. I didn't know the different grinds, types of steels, or all the brands out there, etc.
Such great knives, my Puukko and DBK Bushcrafter is the top of my collection. Both are worth the price and wait.
New music is bloody sick. Those knives are bloody sick.
What a lovely day that was 💯
I’ve got a few knives but the Malanika Chopper is my favourite. The workmanship and attention to detail is unbelievable. Malanika knives are well worth the wait and are still very reasonably priced when you consider their quality. I’ve got a Bushcrafter on order in Magnacut but that’s a few months away yet.
Haha, same here, I am waiting for bushcrafter in Magnacut 😀
@@daniel.rosina Good choice 👌🏻 I think it’s about to become my new favourite knife.
how do you order? isn't website down?
Oh Snap, I was wondering if Danijel would be using Magnacut - sooo wanna get a Bushcrafter in Magnacut. I'd love to see that reviewed on the channel too.
@@astrazenica7783 drop him a line via Instagram DM
you guys are totally my college roommates!
Interesting modern variation in overall blade and handle geometry to the traditional Leuku. There would appear to be a blending (and effective take) of both Latin and Southeast Asian influences to this rendition of Sami Camp Knife. Wow... Steel selection is super high end stuff!!!
Gorgeous Knives tough knives
hey Mikkie, why is your doppelganger in the initial title page photograph on UA-cam's "The Rhine Meadow Camps - What ... Happened?", Mark Felton Productions?
12:53 minutes
These knives look like a dream….
Beautiful knives. Great vid as usual guys. Are they both Scandi grinds?
Blind person watching videos?
i was today years old when I realized micky is in the tree in the intro
Knives are nice
Maarten cooking skills on fleek!
Oh boy here I go looking at knives I can't afford again
That pine resin probably smelled good
I’ve ordered and beaten 3 from Malanika. My first was D2, second was 3V, and the third was 80CRV2. All of them are birch bark. The next knife he is making for me is Magnacut with Micarta. Woot woot
How long do they take to make a custom order? Also how much was did you pay for the magnacut one? Sorry for asking but I’m interested in buying stuff from Malanika but they don’t have prices anywhere
“Some kind of mushroom “ Interesting :)
Interesting perspective, I see them as more ‘dad knives’ but definitely stunners for looks.
Personally I’ve been getting unmistakably perfect performance from my Bark Rivers;.
Fox River in CPM 154
&
Bravo 1.5LT in 3V
In the cold of northern Ontario and typically uncut logs for harvesting/fires, I like blades always a little thicker than what I seen recommended here, although not by much.
Always finish my sharpening with my DBK strop!
Do you know where that scam came from? I got the same message. At first I was sooo happy 😒
@@Winnie_Grett I got too. Looks like from DBK but I am sad too. 😢
@@imgadgetmanjim yes, me too 😔
Sorry guys.. we are working on getting him the hell out of here
@@DutchBushcraftKnives thank you 😔
Those are both beautiful knifes, but I have to say the smaller one has a better look to it
Smaller one is a puukko, not a knife. No, it cant be called knife, its a puukko. Puukko.
Hey! Which kind of steel are the one you tested?
Can you guies do the ' Mora Tectical SRT' plz?
Malanika knives might be the only actually Dutch bushcraft knives on your channel.
Hello guys you're one of my most fabourite
channel on youtube and I've an idea about
another knife that would be interesting to test (that's my opinion, I will understand if you would have different one). I would be very pleased if you test Chriss Reeve Sebenza. The name should mean "work" so it should be very good work horse and for that it got like round edge (not v-edge but like small "convex v-edge"), solid frame lock and titanium scales but it's a folder and also it's very pricy like all Chriss
Reeves..
Thank you and continue as long as you can with these kinds of videos. Have a nice day
(Sorry for my mistakes. I'm from Czech republic and English isn't my strong side)
Does Malanika have a website?
I have 2 Malanika , one bushcraft knife and one puuko .. just prices of art , I am afraid to use them 😆
Hey guys where’s the new video!? I thought we were supposed to get one yesterday? Or is it every other Thursday?
Have you gentlemen ever reviewed a Survive Knife, Bradford or LT Wright Kinife?
Hi guys. Can you please review Randall Made Knives -Trapper. Thank you. Regards from
Australia.
God bless Boris.
Could you please test the böker German expedition knife??
Can you guys test the puma knives
Thank you for a new video. Endlich!!!!!!!
The funny thing is you talk about it a lot but you're really bad at carving 😉
But its so deliciously entertaning 👌
I have 5 Malanika knife, Bushcrafter, 2Puuko, Leuku, Hunting knife. Love them all. The Leuku is not that much in use though. I rather use the A1pro for whatever reasons.
I think you mean the APO-1, best knife out there and designed by a lil hotty.
I would like to see a vid of this knife vs ZL and see witch is better
I’m newer to bushcraft and have been practicing all the skills for about a year now. I am pretty hand thus far with an axe and have treated myself to a GB small forest axe but my knife skills are subpar and I’m currently using some POS knife 😂 for bushcraft what do you think is a reasonable knife to start with that will also last me a good amount of time? I have been watching all of your videos and there are a lot of good options so figured I would just ask!
I just want to say the GB small forest axe is so nice to use and well worth the hefty price
Everything on your shop is sold out. And I want your new knife. Help.... I've got money. Lol.
Everything sold out on your website.
😂😂 wat een humor 👍🏻
I'm doing a request of Dulo knives pukko and leuku from laminated K390. I don't know if Mellsnia is better
Not really related to this video. And pretty much late for the kickstarter DBK (dragon balls knives?) but is it going to be available somewhere else? I see so many backers slot not filled up and really want one (maybe two)
Swedish pants, Swedish jackets. Now you need Swedish boots from Lundhags 😎
I correct my self. Seems like you guys had Lundhags to 🤷♂️😂
now they'll be even more unobtainium
Oooh how much would the pair set you back? So much need in my life
USMC Ka-Bar* hold my beer
How much do these cost? I couldnt find any prices on Malanikas Instagram page.
Such a fun video. Love how you guys made the fire differently this time. Always a fan of the outdoor dishes too 🙂
where can i buy Malanika knives?
Maarten, what color would you say your shoes are?
You guys should review the new benchmade the anonymous it’s called
You guys should consider doing a Canadian themed episode (new Canadian character??) and order some Grohmann’s. They are made down the road from me and are infamous Canadian outdoor knives. Check it out!
Great Job Guys, but could you do a Video focussed on Dive Knives, performance, Rust susceptibility, ease of sharpening etc etc, I am a passionate Diver and a sucker for knives, but didn't manage to find the perfect diving knife, even the Salt and H1 series of Spyderco did superficially rust, and the Titanium diving knives are a pain in the arse to sharpen.
Have you looked into nitro-v? Nitrogen based steels (like in the salt series) are basically the best you can do with steels when it comes to rust resistance atm.
@@TheAnonymousSword That is all Horseshit ! I had a Spyderco Atlantic Salt and a Spyderco Native H1, in the Advertisements I saw on UA-cam they where in Salt Water for weeks and looked like new, the reality is, I took them diving and they started to build up rust , although not deep going rust, but still, they also rusted. I even sent pictures to Spyderco in Oregon, and they sad that they are very sorry, but it should be easy to get the rust off with a Britt sponge. When I buy a knife, that is around 150 Euro and advertised as those two, I expect much better results.
@@theochrist9453 wow, sounds horrible. Thanks for the info.
Love these knives! FYI any bushcrafters looking for high end wool blankets, Faribault is having a huge factory second sale for the next few days.
Do a Tops Silent Hero Review
would like to see JeoTec reviewed but may be too similar to Joker
cruwear steel hahaha size don't matter love you guys
The performance of cruwear makes me so exited for magnacut. Ever so slightly worse performance while being near totally stainless.
Kusheen was here...
Hey guys! Would you consider using a more standardized piece of wood for the feather sticking. Like using wood from a single piece of of 2x4 or something. In my experience the wood is just as important as the knife when making feathers so we would a more accurate test. Just a consideration. Thanks!
I need a knife for bush crafting and field dressing so I need a finger guard for field dressing. Hands are going to be bloody and slippery. You'll not going to stab during the work but just preparing for worst case scenario. If a bear/mountain lion/whatever decides it can take you on and ambush you while you're field dressing alone to take your hunt, you might need to stab. While panicking, stabbing on thick skin or bone/ribs/pelvis etc will probably cause your grip to slip and good bye to your fingers and probably your life. This type of grips isn't for me.
Malanika website has been down for a while. just a Facebook page as far as I can see
Review the INVICTUS - NOVRITSCH =D
Damn , gonna have to start calling you two the--" Soggy Bottom Boys"
Here fellow spectators if you watch the advertisements to the end of each one the guys get more money and less if you click skip after 5 seconds... just to let you know 😁
Y’all need to make pepper poppers, jalapeños cut in half., filled with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon. Cook on the grill , oven, etc. your life won’t be the same amigo !
Malanikas are all true scandi or is your sharpening? I think my puukko came with a microbevel
Of course, there is a microbevel. Jelio puukkos have microbevel, too. It is easier also for you to sharpen it like that (removing just small amount of material).
Big boi knife
Baie cool ouens
Finally
