Seen your unboxing and took a chance, and ordered the sand colored dial. It arrived yesterday and I must say I'm pretty impressed. For $825, you get a lot for the money. So far, my only gripe is the quick adjustment. When letting it out, it's somewhat unsightly, not a real link, but more of an extension. As they continue to grow and improve, I'm sure they'll address that, but on this watch, while not a huge concern, is something to point out. These microbrands are really listening to customers and innovating. The big brands could learn a thing or two and watch out. As prices continue to rise, these microbrand are a very good option. Spending thousands on a watch, when one could get close for a fraction of the price sounds real good right now.
For a point of comparison. I have this watch and CW Sealander GMT, which I wore solid for a year. The Nodus is easily the better watch. Some folks have complained about it, but I really like the lumed counterbalance on the second hand.
I just received my Contrail Impulse yesterday and I love it. It fits my 6.5" wrist perfectly and is super comfortable. The finishing is easy above the price point. And yes, i have other nodus watches and enjoy them too. Why? Because it's a super brand with excellent products that provide great value.
My wife got me one for my birthday. I loved all the colors so much I’m letting her surprise me with which one she got lol now just to wait until May 9th to open
Just received the Polaris version today as my first Nodus purchase and I love it so far. I'd been considering the jack mason GMT for a while and that model still does have some benefits over the Nodus, but I just love the design on this one.
Thank you for nice review. Surprisingly the case looks very similar to Venezianico Nereide including lugs. This Contrail version is nice, however the recent design changes seem to me too much departing the original, and not in a good way, as this version reminds me 3 other watch designs, rather than new and refreshed continuation of Contrail.
Nice watch. I don’t agree with this idea of being left behind and that the Contrail will be collectible. I can appreciate a brand having to move up in terms of offering and price. However, there is much more competition in the -~$1000 price range which makes me think twice whereas the Sector series is a no brainer at its price point. I am also disappointed at the design. I see a Grand Seiko Sport homage and none of the character I’ve come to expect from Nodus.
I like how microbrands are becoming smarter than big brands and puting flat casebacks (seiko casebacks are domed and so unconfortable). Also microbrands are making them as slim as possible and i love it. My favourite brand at the moment is MONTA because they pay very close attention to these details that make their watches the most comfortable on the market, i just want them to also make 36mm watches =)
I realize you’ve partnered with Nodus before, but after watching so many of your videos, this one was hard to watch as you clearly overlooked so many flaws on this watch that you have historically called out in others. I want Nodus to succeed and like where the brand is going, but that non-articulating first link and especially the NodeX clasp design is just not good. I would rather have a cheap generic clasp than a proprietary one with poor implementation.
@@ericgrafton652 I have owned Nodus too. I like their designs. I hope they succeed. My opinion is clearly subjective, but the way the NodeX clasp looks when fully extended is a dealbreaker for me, especially at these prices as they continue to try and move upmarket.
Nice watch. Bracelet looks a bit crude, doesn't suit the head. But you can always ditch it.
This gives me GS vibes looks excellent for the money 💰

When I saw this it blew my toupee off! Really love it and maybe their best watch to date. Will have to pick one up. Thanks again Rob

Interesting as I’ve been looking into CW Sealander GMT. Might have to get this instead
in what way do you prefer the nodus over the CW?

I love what grand sei…. I mean nodus is doing
Only thing I don’t like is the counterbalance lume on the seconds hand, aside from that, it’s beautiful!
I love that watch. Reminds me of the Grand Seiko SBGJ237
Very nice watch with vrry good Lume. That Lume is chasing the Lume on the Foliot Stratonaut.
It was either this or their collab w/ Raven Trail Trekker, got the Trail Trekker coming in today. Pretty stoked.
Really a good looking watch. First look is a GS GMT.
Just ordered the white dial, thanks for the review, as always!
Dude, they capped the stem!!

Gorgeous piece 😍

Sapphire bezel like the Grand Seikos.
Oh look, a Grand Seiko homage.
I gotta say yes daddy on this one
While this is a very slick and nice watch, it's a little too like the grand seiko for my liking to call itself original

the Blues dont match .. like at all that bezel insert does not look good on the blue model
Bracelets should allways taper 4 or more mm. I can't stand bracelets that dont taper
WAY to expensive for this cheap movement...CALIBER: Miyota 9075 GMT... Mark has a MUCH better watch for the money Islander Port Jefferson GMT
