I think you're in the wrong here. Haywyre was working mostly (if not only) on FL Studio, while making this album, and made the switch to Ableton only a couple years ago. Also, this sound could perfectly be vocodex (and it most likely is, IMO) as it is one of the most powerful and flexible software vocoder available in the market still to this day, and it should perfectly be able to achieve this sound. Not really important stuff, anyway, that sound is awesome, and so is that f**king track !
