Well, technically black people today should be due reparations not for slavery, but for being denied the vote, denied good schools, denied the freedom to buy real estate in whites-only suburbs, the redlining of their own neighborhoods which prevented them from getting home loans, the tearing down of their neighborhoods to build freeways for the whites-only suburbanites, the exclusion of farm, domestic, and railroad work from Social Security for decades (those jobs were mostly held by black people in the South) and a drug war that overwhelmingly prosecuted and jailed them despite whites and blacks having similar rates of use. I probably missed something, but there are tens of millions of black people alive today who have suffered some or all of these effects or are the children of those cheated out of those opportunities for generational wealth.

I always thought the Christian infatuation with “natural” vs “unnatural” was silly. If something exists within the natural order, doesn’t that alone make it natural? Humans are capable of a huge variety of behaviors, cultures, paradigms etc. Christians seem to think that anyone living outside of a post-Christian, European culture is “unnatural.” This is now beginning to include 21st century people who have moved away from traditional Christian values and are able to fully express their humanity without the confines of the dictates of Christianity. “Oh, they’re different than what I was brought up to believe was ‘normal,’ therefore they must be unnatural.”
Whenever someone says "normal" I ask myself: "What is normal? How is that defined and by who?" The answer to these question ends up being that there is no such thing, other than social constructs which aren't all that tangible. I like to think this helps keep me sane and away from people like this religious bigot.

Real quick bit of info in support of Reparations. The claim of wrongdoing leveled by Black people (American descendants of slavery -> NOT just anyone with brown skin) isn't against White people, it's against the United States government for allowing, promoting, and legislating it. Reparations IS owed, no way around that. America as we know it could not and would not exist as the dominant world power while also being the youngest country (or thereabouts) at the same time. Black people were robbed of trillions of dollars in currency back 400 years ago, in today's value the figure would be even more astronomical. The USA definitely doesn't have a problem paying reparations, btw unless it's specifically to Black people. The USA paid reparations to the descendants of Jews that survived the Holocaust on, I believe, 2 separate occasions. You're a smart person, and I am really enjoying your channel. The American side of my family (my dad's side) did not come to the United States until 1881. This was 16 years after the end of the Civil War. They intermarried with Native Americans and Scandinavians in the Minnesota/ Dakota/ Saskatchewan area. My mom's side was Polish. So, as white as I am (with some Native American), there was nothing that my ancestors did in the way of American slavery.

I am trying really hard to understand where this guy is coming from, whether he actually believes what he's saying or not, and what could cause that kind of brain damage.
I swear I've only ever heard black separationists talk about reparations in the way conservatives think they'd work when in reality it's honestly a misnomer to even call them that. A reparations program done right would be indistinguishable from a neighborhood revitalization program, so it should honestly just be that.

The American side of my family (my dad's side) did not come to the United States until 1881. This was 16 years after the end of the Civil War.

My mom's side was Polish. So, as white as I am (with some Native American), there was nothing that my ancestors did in the way of American slavery.
