  • Apparently, somebody took the rhetoric in Toy Story about how cool Buzz Lightyear is and decided to give him his own movie and TV show... nice!

    I loved both the show and the movie as a kid. Buzz Lightyear was my favorite Toy Story character as a kid so having this movie come out was a dream come true for me.

    Not gonna lie, that scene where they go back to Star Command after it's been taken over by Zurg freaked the hell out of me as a kid. I still shudder when we hear Zurg's voice coming out of Commander Nebula's body...

    I figured that Warp was the bad guy when I first saw him when I was 5. It was the blue skin, the beard, voice and the name Warp Darkmatter. Come on that's the most villainous sounding name you can have for a sci-fi character. It's like Dr. Drakken, the name Shego or Ludo. Well there are villain names that you think sound lame and are like the Mathter or Calendar man (that is a real DC villain and I could not make that up if I tried). There are villain names who sound lame but are just misleading like Bill Cipher, Toffee or Gideon Gleeful, come on those guys are scary even though their names aren't. Off note I will say this for that first Booster scene, we later learn that Buzz saved Booster's family farm from an attack and saw that Booster wanted to be a Ranger so he encouraged it after Booster helped him.

      In childhood, I was quite naive and didn't see twists coming quite as easily. But that is fair.
      I did not know that about Booster. Thank you for sharing.

      Yeah it's one of the later episodes. I don't remember the name but I think you can look it up on wikipedia if you're curious.

    It's almost like if at the beginning of the Puss in Boots movie they have Shrek and all the characters going to a movie theater to see Puss in Boots.

      Well, even if they're both spinoffs, the Puss in Boots movie was a prequel and this is an actual movie-within-a-movie. There are no movies in the Shrek world.

    Um, I think the reason Zurg chose to kill Buzz instead of brainwash him is because he learned that Buzz would never let him as long as he was alive.

    I knew whap was going to be a traitor from the beginning, I mean the name alone was enough to tip me off They might as well called him evil McBackstab for how obnoxiously predictable that was. The janitor was also super predictable.

    • @TheDetectiveSteve
      @TheDetectiveSteve  8 років тому +2

      +ursulajoni15 I agree with Booster, given his desire to be a space ranger was stated in the first scene.
      Darkmatter.... well, he said it himself. "My name's 'Darkmatter'. Who's surprised here?"

    I figure that the LGMs didn't notice the Drone due to the fact they were in the middle of something that required their full attention. We don't know what the unimind ritual was for, but considering the fact they were 100% focused on it, it would make sense that it's important enough for the full attention of all involved. As for Mira not ghosting the bomb, that little jump to the explosion was probably a time jump. It probably takes a while for the bomb to explode, Mira reported to Buzz wanting to know what to do (after all, she doesn't know if the bomb COULDN'T be ghosted, or if Buzz had a plan involving the bomb), and after Buzz told Mira, Booster and X-R about his plan, the went with it. That small prototype ship probably survived because, well it's a prototype, and when it comes to testing such technology you'd want to make it solid enough so that anyone using it would be able to survive.

    It really saddens me to see talented content creators such as yourself go unnoticed in the shadows of the big named UA-camrs out there. BUT if you persevere and stay determined, I'm sure you'll be able to make it big :)

    • @TheDetectiveSteve
      @TheDetectiveSteve  8 років тому

      Your comment is flattering, sir. Still, I started porting my content to UA-cam in 2014. Two years later, I'm at nearly 500 subscribers. I'd say I'm making decent progress.

  • @lawnninjainthedark

    Great video. Two things.
    First, I disagree with your allegation that the inability of the LGMs to the detect an impostor is a "plot hole".
    The LGMs are morons. They made a robotic ranger with a dynamic AI but equipped it with weapons that could be caused to catastrophically malfunction by simply obstructing the barrel. The stowaway LGMs at the beginning seemed oblivious to the fact that they were repeatedly saved from being eaten by one of Lovecraft's Old Gods.
    Secondly, I think we are meant to believe that Zerg learned of the Uni-Mind by torturing the missing LGMs, although even as a kid I knew who the mysterious henchmen was.

    • @TheDetectiveSteve
      @TheDetectiveSteve  7 років тому +2

      Fair point, though the point still stands that the LGM's ought to have noticed inconsistency.

    I like Nicole Sullivan as shego from Kim possible more than Mira I mean Mira is not a bad character it's just Nicole Sullivan is better suited voicing as a villain

      In both roles she's a snarky foil to the main characters, but I suppose she had a little more leeway to be mean as a villain. Still love Nova though.
