This is a commentary about Korean society's pressure on women to conform to traditional gender roles and be like a barbie etc. So the girls are saying they are neither man or women and can be whatever they want to be, including tomboys etc. G-idle and Dreamcatcher are my favorite girl groups in KPOP. Most music videos in KPOP have English subs - hit the CC button.
So, since you're new to K-pop, I'll answer some questions and give you some info/ recommendations. #1 Yes, this songs has a lot of American influence (more specifically American "punk-rock") but in general Kpop is not a genre, so it's influenced by a lot of genres from every part of the world (including traditional Korean music). #2 You'll notice tho that hiphop and bubble gum is more present in songs. Korean hiphop is no joke and bubble gum is usually what you would think every kpop song is (cutesy, soft...). #3 G-idle is pronounced as "g-idol" or just "idol" #4 Although K-pop groups get more spotlight internationally, there're many solo artists, singers, rappers, composers... That are pretty successful and popular too, sometimes they have a different vibe from groups. Blackpink and Mamamoo are good groups (female) EXO and Stray Kids, TxT and Enhyphen (male) and of course BTS.
