As always Great to see Hannah in the video..Life can be hard at times..If you find someone that you can laugh and joke with during those hard times..That is a true Blessing..
Cleaning out that bin would be a job for the intern at 99% of farms. That is a job nobody likes to do. Doing that job alone without Brother, Dad or "intern" just shows what a great guy you are!
Hanna, you're really coming along as a farm girl. I think you can take Travis in a good rasslin' match though. LOL. Keep up the good work, Ryan, Travis and Hanna. God bless y'all from Ohio!
Me an my older brother an sister use to chase each in the yard back in our younger days. Thank goodness we don’t do that anymore might end up with sprains, bumps an bruises.
Nothing like a little healthy back and forth between Travis and Hannah. If they didn't act like that, I would think something was wrong. It's good that you found a product to make your grain-hauling duties easier. Be really careful around mold; no one wants to see you catch a case of fungal pneumonia. Great catch on the air lines before you hit the road to Dubuque.
no need to invest in a bin sweep when superman can do it in no time flat! :) get yourself two new glad hands and put plugs in them then you can hook them to the tractor glad hands and isolate the problem, tractor from trailer. $3.20/ bu, "my dear god magnum" my dad got that in the late 60"s early 70's for corn. I don't know how farmers make ends meet.
Worse with cotton... it's the still same lousy 60 cent a pound average it was when I was a kid in the early 70's... and it costs TWICE as much per acre to grow in inputs, plus the machinery (cotton pickers) cost more than a combine have probably 10 times as many moving parts to maintain and periodically replace (picker spindles). Why we quit cotton in 03' and just went all cattle... Later! OL J R :)
Great Video as always- Thank you for letting us know about the hair dye- I thought maybe you were riding your four wheeler and caught a branch. Have a great weekend and be safe :)
Be Careful when you are cleaning out the bins,my neighbor was cleaning out his 60,000 bushel bin and was wearing a harness but the rope broke and was trapped in the bin with the shovel in his hand. He was buried alive. It took them 5 hour's to recover his body. He was Funneral was yesterday.
I Just bought a can of that greese. Got my car back from the dealer, and the cable was replaced on sliding door. They did not clean dirt and did not lube, I found a video that said to lube it with that type of grease. But not the nylon wheel on the top hanger. As I learned when I rode bicyles, lithium does not attract dirt to the chain. Yes the first lube was original wd-40. But you should of seen the citrus bibox chain cleaner, yuck. Back then I bought the Napa Version! I was gone with the Schwin! Good video! Due hickey, Taking on water boss!
Totally shot rough day that turned out Golden. Them thar' bins is full of gold nuggets. Check comes, bet ya'll smile then. Nice clean bin walls, they lined with a slick coating or just galvanized? Usually see lots more wet corn damage and clumps of dust stuck to the walls.
Love the time lapse of you heading to sell the corn. Mind sharing what you used for that and how you mounted it? (Like a gopro on timelapse photo or video mode and how you mounted it?) Awesome!

Dadgum the bad luck you keep having with Big Red! I was hoping you might train Hannah a little more on the truck here in the warm weather. Is it too far north for you guys to grow wheat?
Dude, you need to take it easy in those bins on a hot day like that. AND DRINK MORE WATER!! You looked really distressed, and I gotta tell ya, I would assume to see you sweating like crazy. If you aren't sweating, you could go into heat stroke very easily. And then it's lights out. No more HFW then. Turn that ventilation fan on while you're in there too!
You don't want to run the fan while your in the bin... all it does is raise choking, blinding levels of dust and doesn't really cool it off anyway... Later! OL J R :)
When I say reverse, I mean we physically pulled the fan off and attached the sucky side to the bin duct. We had small bins and consequently small fans. We actually fabricated a kind of quick attach to the bins to make it easy.
@@larry4082 ok... Well I guess it you say so, never seen that done and don't know what good it would do, but okay. Personally I'd rather have a big fan sitting in the door blowing cooler outside air in OVER the grain, and me, and venting hot air from the bin walls out the top... Later! OL J R
Travis actually likes Hannah and he is not willing to admit it. At the same time. hee also feel that she has replaced him in Ryan's life to a certain extent. The team went from two to three and there will be upheaval and "Stroming" until a new normal is established.
Question: If there is mold and mildew in the bin and you don't clean the bin prior to filling it again will the mold and mildew transfer to the next harvested crop?
There's mold and mildew spores EVERYWHERE all the time... the stuff just floats in the air and gets everywhere. It takes warm, moist, humid areas for it to grow. Mold and mildew spores are in the fields all the time and come in with the corn at harvest. The key is to keep the grain aerated and the moisture low enough to preven the stuff from growing and spreading. That's how it gets in there in the first place. No amount of "sterilizing" the bin will prevent it- the grain basically picks it up literally IN THE FIELD even before it is harvested, right out of the air. Later! OL J R :)
Why would any sane person choose to do this as a job? With a work ethic like that, you could make more money virtually anywhere doing anything with much less financial risk.
Why?? They just got this one. Smaller auger is slower and takes longer to fill. Plus they need the big auger to reach over the bins to put corn in the bins during harvest, not just loading out trucks. OL J R :)

Automated sampler... robot arm that sticks a probe tube down through the load, then opens to let some corn fall into it, then activates a vacuum to suck the corn out of the tube and through a pipe into the office where it's run through a grain tester, that determines the moisture level, cup (grain) weight (per bushel), foreign matter, and debris contamination or grain damage, and usually also tested for mycotoxins. Thanks for taking us along for the ride have a good and safe day
Hannah is one tough cookie!
Thanks for the video Ryan be careful around any mold good to see the horse play between Hannah and Travis stay safe and don’t over heat👍
I love the camera view from the top of the trailer makes it look like a video game
Usually when we have grain sit for a while we cycle through the yard with the augers and just move it around to break things up inside
Great seeing Hannah interacting with the family. She's definitely a keeper!
Oh - An adjustable crescent/channel/visegrip/hammer wrench.

Nice thing about the scale being open going west bound if it’s open the boarder is right there. 😏🤫🤫🤫
Looks like its about time for a new trailer. Also, don't forget to drain the airtanks. Dont want water/oil sitting in there.
I feel your exhaustion (down in S. Louisiana) Ryan, high humidity + high temps are no joke 🥵🥵🥵🥵
Luckily that weigh station which seems never to be open when I drive through on 61 was closed. .lol keep up videos I enjoy them.
Who stops for the Dickeyville scales? Not I lol

Wish Hannah and Travis could get along lol. Nice to get the bins empty.
I think Hannah has graduated from being a intern don't you think it's time to promoter her Ryan I think she deserves a raise in rank
Good to see miss Hannah, stay safe,
I believe the valves you had to replace were check valves. They let the air only flow one way.
