All Kim Eun Sook's works have very strong bromance and DAMN funny interactions between the boys. DOTS, Goblin and this. Hahahaha that's what make her dramas all so funny and amazing.
Bit it was her first work, where I really like main couple and didn't prefer second leads😅 (like it was in DOTS, The Heirs, Goblin, Gentleman's Dignity...)
My favorite scenes are when Dongmae says hes looking for a person with a leginjury, and Hui Seong instantly starts halting away, and then later he says hes looking for a person with a cough, and then he starts coughing and walks away

The trinity of Go Ae-Sin fan club! The Chrisma, The Sarcasm and The Cheery but internally tormented. I love these three men so much I feel sad whenever I think about their endings. Ae-Sin may be alive till the end of the drama but if the story goes on, knowing what’s coming later in Joseon’s history, she will also probably die young defending her beloved country to the end. I imagine her reuniting with all of them in the afterlife, especially with her beloved Eugene Choi. As someone who has lost a few loved ones in life, I think that the one who has to live on is the pitiful one. Sorry if I get too carried away, this drama is so well-executed, I’d say it’s one of the best historical fictions. All the characters has come alive on screen, so well-acted especially the child actors, the emotion in their eyes. The consistency of the adult actors when they grew up. Well-deserved the awards. We know the historical dramas based on this era will always have sad endings but we still watch them because they are so wholesome. Korea has really come a long way. Again, life’s like that, hard times always come but you live through them and the choice is always up to you, no matter how limited or hard it is.
I love how Eugene looks down while talking to ae shin.... I love how he smiles and looks down and tries to hide that smile. I love how he keeps his face serious but still funny. He doesn't need dialogs to convey emotions. I just love lee byung Hun's acting to the point I can't find any of his competitors in this drama industry anymore.
that's the point. Lee Byung hun's face shows the emotions itself. that's why I'm so addicted to rewatch his part. bcs I'll always amazed with his acting. actually I've tried to find the same opinion. and I find u haha

These 3 were such a great trio..... I still tear up remembering them having drinks together for the last time and saying cheers..... I even suffered 3rd lead syndrome for this drama..... All of them deserved the girl.... They showed a real example of love!!! All of them from their positions tried best to understand their love and was satisfied with it.... That's why I think even all of them died... It was a happy ending.... Coz they didn't have any regrets and left with a smile.... all 3 of them..... I cried for a whole day.... I miss them too much know:(. I kept this drama away for quite some time because of the leads age difference. When I finally started watching I got so immersed that I cried and laughed with them. Specially when dong Mae was hurt or cried, I emptied my tissue box. What an amazing drama. That part when he says, that’s good I can bury you anywhere 😂

That was all because of that one girl - Go Ae-shin, a fragile-looking little woman who carried with her a huge love for her nation, a truly patriot that, to all three of them, were so close yet so far to get a hold of. With that being said, they three still chose to love her to their very last breath. Along their own journeys of loving Ae-shin, they gradually grew bigger their love for their country and became patriots just like her. I truly love how the director portrayed these three gentlemen. This has become one of my favourite K-drama. Love from Vietnam 🇻🇳

I literally cracked up when on the 23rd episode they all met up at the bar one last time and Hui Sung was so shocked, like “OH MAH GAH THEY BROUGHT OUT DRINKS INSTEAD OF GUNS AND A KNIFE” like lmaooo 😭😂

Note Eugene had American soldiers sitting at his side, then when Dongmae came in, his subjects sat at his side, while the two of them sat at the bar, creating a atmosphere where both were equaled in power. and then Huiseong came in with his gang.... the Japanese geisha. So when 3 of them were bickering at the front, the 3 groups of 'subjects' were behind staring at each other. It was hilarious.
