    Ive started using cornflour. Just add a spoon to the pan, make paste with milk so mo lumps, and then i add rest of milk and all the seasonings etc. Found it much easier and tastes the same to me.

      Try potato starch. Closer to flour in texture and gluten free.

    Hi Kerry,when I make my white sauce for fish pie,I also whisk in the zest and juice of half a lemon which gives a lovely subtle flavour to complement the fish😀x

    Thanks Kerry, I’ve just ordered that whisk. My sauce was always lumpy and ended up using litres of milk. So easy to remember 50/50/500 👍

    Yassss mustard powder! I usually use whole fat milk that I've heated up with whole peppercorns, half a white onion and a bay leaf already.

    I found a recipe for salmon patties and the recipe calls for heavy cream. but I always wanted how to make a simple white sauce. my mom always made it this way. but she added a little bit of salt and pepper and Accent flavor to to her sauce. and when I make this with Mccormick brown gravey mix. Thanks for a easy recipe 😊.some of these videos go on and on, like Dragnet, just give me the facts 😊. Simple as that!

    I usually add 2 tbs of urine. Really gives it a boost in the tanginess.

    I bought the spoon whisk and it was rubbish. The spoon whisk is way too small and wouldn't get rid of the lumps. I had to switch to a normal whisk.

      That is why it’s called one of the five mother sauces. You add Parmesan and Gruyère cheese and you get what’s called a Mornay sauce. All starts with the white sauce. You can add a touch of parsley

    Is it 50 gms or 5 gms of flour cause when I convert 50 gms flour to tsp it comes around 19 tsp. But u added around 1 tbsp in the video. Please clarify. Thanks

      @ellie9248 14 днів тому

      It says 50 grams of flour, butter in the video description. I tried the recipe but had to add extra butter at some point because it was too dry and floury.

      You really should measure your flour and butter with a scale set to grams. It’s much more accurate 3.54tbsp butter (50 grams) 6.67tbsp flour (50 grams) 2.11 cups heavy cream (500mll) the measuring cup should have mils on the opposite side.
