NEW (to me) ENGINE to Build For the FOXBODY

- While Scrolling through FaceBook market place I stumbled upon a freshly listed engine for a great deal and I just couldn’t pass up it. We took a small road trip through a snow storm to snatch it up and pondered on some of the endless build directions we could take this new power plant!

This is gonna be sweet! Screaming deal too. Stock bottom end with the turbo gets my vote. No reason you can’t run an NA for a season either. A 387 is a stock bore so I think you would just need the crank. The .8 refers to the ratio of the exhaust housing. It may be the 70mm that comes with the on3 kit. Can’t wait for the next vid!
@@radionos8515 thank you for the info! This was a pieced together turbo kit and it looks bigger than the ones that come in the kit, but who knows. All I know is it’ll make cool noises!
I'm probably gonna have the unpopular opinion on this one. Stay 302 with the turbo kit if you are wanting to stay "budget". The nickel and dime of swapping to a 351w will kill any budget friendly thoughts you are having. And then slowly build a badass 351w stroker while having fun with your turbocharged 302, allowing you to build your car to be ready for a 351w based turbocharged stroker.
400whp in a Foxbody is a very quick and fun car to drive. That 302 with a turbo will make that easily.

Thanks for the input! And I hear ya, that’s why I wasn’t looking into the 351 seriously until I found this one for a good deal. I need to rebuild the bottom end of the 302 so it’ll be the same price to rebuild the 351 as long as there isn’t any problems with the stock bore and block. Only thing I’ll need to buy to run the 351 is the lower intake. I see your point though and That’s definitely an option to consider. A turbod stoker motor would be badass! Thanks for watching!
@@BenekeBuiltthat and oil pan/pick up, flywheel/flexplate, front accessory drive brackets, I’m sure I am forgetting a few things. But like you said if you are all ready buying those things for the 302, it’s a wash.
Either way, I like the build and can’t wait to see your next steps.
Oh yeah those things 😂 oil pan I’ll need, and the rest I was going to buy anyway for the 302, new clutch/ flywheel, going stock with the clutch to hopefully buy some time and protect the stock t5. If it fails I have a spare so there’s room to improve there lol We shall see!

I did almost the same build back in the day and it put me in much more debt than planned cause I let it snowball out of control 😂 😂 😂

I say stock bottom end because you kept mentioning the word budget and you’re going to need headers and a swap oil pan. Definitely going to have more torque than the 302.
@@THE-SHOP Im leaning that way too. I say budget because I like finding deals and seeing how much fun we can have without overspending, it’s a fun little game! It’ll definetely have more ass, I’m excited to see what it’ll be like
