- Bobby Petrino was welcomed back to the University of Arkansas during a press conference in Fayetteville on Thursday. Head coach Sam Pittman spoke first before being followed by his new offensive coordinator. Here's what they had to say...

You need to watch his recent pressers after the games as the losses mounted this year. Pittman scowled and was obviously snappy with a short fuse towards the media members on three or four occasions. After a recent loss, Pittman accused the media & fan base of harming his recruiting with negativity. While saying nothing about his 4-8 record or blocking his Twitter account possibly harming his recruiting. Pittman has had a scowl on his face almost constantly since Petrino was hired. I think you are actually Cody Kennedy or related thereof. You take ole sweetie back to Georgia. The sooner the better. I am so tired of these such a good ole boy comments. He is an old ill tempered grumpy loser.

I'm so stoked Bobby's back! I wish people would quit bringing up his past mistake. He's long since paid his dues. He's genuinely excited about being here and loves our State and its people. He's a brilliant coach and a great guy and you know he'll work well with Pitman!
I can't wait until he quits again after a few months or maybe a season.
As an LSU fan good for the hogs and Bobby. He really seems to have changed and seems like he is humbled by being able to coach there again.

I think People who take ownership of their actions are entitled to another chance. Petrino is a smart man and I believe he will take advantage of the opportunity he has been given. Pittman may be the smartest of the bunch, only time will tell. GO HOGS! GO!!

He had multiple multiple opportunities to tell the truth during the many many months during the issues, lying to police, players, fans, boosters, coaches, administrators, etc multiple times. Basically ruined a woman and man's careers at Arkansas forcing them to leave the state and Arkansas setting up the move for both of them. Low blow Arkansas did to those two to bring this up again by rehiring a 62 year old in his last years as a coach versus so many up and coming 30 something offensive minds. Overall the University system dropped a few notches nationwide with this rehire. A few extra wins is not worth the trouble.
I’m so glad Bobby is back. This man wanted to be back here. He wants to finish what he started.

Sam Pittman deserves a LOT of praise for making this happen. The character and humility that man must have to hire a former head coach at a school he was highly successful is a very selfless act. It proves that Pittman is willing to put the school first above his ego. 💪🏼

I have a vivid memory of all of the years during Bobby's first tenure. The difference in him now is palpable. As stoic as he is, there is a softness about him now. I hope he still has that killer instinct on the field.

Sam Pitman, I have critizied you heavily, and I stand by what I have stated, but I will always congradulate when good work is being done. I can say this coach, it is very obvious you do care as a head coach, and you want Arkansas to win, and I can support you on that. I want to thank you for caring. I know a lot of us fans are ruthless with honesty and our opinions, but coach we can tell you are doing everything you can do within your power to better the Arkansas football program. Bobby Patrino was a great hire, and it is a solid move in the right direction, you have restored hope here in the state of Arkansas. Thank you coach Pitman.

Me too, man! I feel night & day different from after the Missouri game to now. Still a lot of work to do to get our boys ready to compete next season but Bobby’s the man for the job. It all started with Yurachek being willing to lay his reputation on the line for Sam. I think 2024 season could be one to remember for a long time

Honestly, I'm glad for Bobby and I believe that he will do well at Arkansas, and beat Missouri and Drinkwitz next year. I believe that Bobby is a better person than he was 10-15 years ago, having made some mistakes and had some problems in his family life, but he still has talents that he can contribute to benefit Arkansas, its players, and the larger football community.
Hats off to Sam for finding the best man for the job and Hats off to Bobby for coming into this dumpster fire.
I would hate to have to listen to Sam for a long time unless I was trying to get to sleep. Does he ever get fired up?

Idk if he’s just accepted it or what, but this all seems like a pretty slick way for Arkansas to get Petrino back in the driver’s seat without all the backlash they would have gotten. But there’s always that chance that this dynamic could work out well for all parties.

Bobby seems very contrite and apologetic of his past mistakes here. He seems far more laid back and less of a God complex. He will help Sam like Barry did, and our offense should be better. Best move the Pitt-boss could have made to save his job

Pittman still has the demeanor of somebody that just received a cancer diagnosis from his doctor. The football season being over should have improved his disposition to some degree. Petrino is by far the more normal Joe of the two. Never had a good vibe listening to Pittman. Pittman probably is still on edge about the possibility of losing Kennedy. I think a lot more went on behind the scenes arranging all of this than we will ever see publicly reported.
Pittman is definitely frazzled in this video. I thought his wheels were gonna fall off a few times 😅

I was surprised that your post was just six hours old. I thought for sure it was an old post before the story of what happened came out. I guess you have not been playing attention. It's been confirmed by both Petrino's side and Sam Pittman's side what happened. Petrino's agent texted Sam Pittman and told him that Petrino would be interested in the job. Sam Pittman made the first move and called Petrino for an interview. After that, he had to be approved by Yurachek and some other heavy weights at the University, but Sam Pittman got the ball rolling and wanted Petrino here. I mean, think about it, why would a head coach not want the best offensive mind in college football as their OC? Do you think Sam Pittman does not want to win or something? He was also aware of how successful Petrino had been here, and how loved he is in the state of Arkansas. It was a no brainer.

Gotta be awkward for both guys. Petrino coming back to his old job but only as the coordinator. And Pittman working with the coach that used to have his job and was more successful.
I hope it works out and I think it will but they’ll each have to be humble and respectful of each other and their positions. I think it’ll work out in the end. We know have 2 coach P’s. P1 and P2
