  • The new Series 8 GMT might just be the ideal GMT watch to buy, not just for its "True GMT" movement - (allowing the hour hand to jump as you move between timezones), its relatively affordable price, and its other features, that together make it a useful piece to consider if you are travelling the world. Find out how the True GMT in this watch differs from the more ubiquitous (and in our opinion less useful Office GMT version) in our detailed explanation.

    The 41mm watch on my relatively slender wrist appears to be only 39mm-40mm. The watch is not as bulky as it appears on videos and is much better looking in person. I have the Pepsi bezel version.

    Setting the gmt hand to gmt time (the part which you say is difficult) is actually really simple once you commit to it. And very cool with the tricks you can do

    Great explanation of a true GMT. Citizen has been really hitting the mark lately in terms of great watches.

    With the Miyota 9075 becoming more available, the prices of flyer or traveler GMT watches have gone down significantly. You can get a reliable microbrand for $600.

      Bulova Wilton and Citizen Series 8 GMT both uses a different movement caliber.
      The Wilton uses cal.9075 with only 42 hours power reserve, -10 to +30 secs/day and 4,800 A/m antimagnetic.
      As for the Series 8 GMT, it comes with a cal.9054 with 50 hours power reserve, -10 to +20 secs/day and 16,000 A/m antimagnetic.

    It’s a very handsome watch. But it is overpriced in Canada at 2300.00 I think not. I could buy a Longines for that money.

      I love this watches looks. I will be watching its price carefully in the next year to add one to the collection. It’s still a lot more affordable then the Rolex Batman gmt🤪

    41mm… another watch i won’t buy. I don’t understand why the Japanese make their watches so large, when the average Asian male wrist is so small.

    • @isochrono
      @isochrono  9 місяців тому +4

      Because quite alot of Asians wear big bulky watches.

    Just one caveat....1.7k cost effective.. not really .. Jack Mason Stratotimer under 1k... Same movement, better bracelet, designed in Texas.

      Can't compare Citizen with a fresh microbrand. Nothing against Jack Mason but the quality overall it's much better.

      @@MarcosVenti not a bad point but wildly debatable.... I have Citizens myself... And love them to death, as a matter of fact., just got the new moon phase. But 1.7k is truly truly out there.

      @@mauricioposada4485 I have a Traska gmt with the same movement, 150wr that got water damage by just getting in the sea and barely wet, I have read other reviews where JM got water issues too. Thankfully they were super good at Traska and fixed the watch, but then again I put money on the table that this wouldn't have happened with Citizen.
